Great discussion! I'd be interested in hearing more about the topic of self-worth after leaving the org. Because even after being out, it's easy to fall back into that mode of thinking very little of yourself. And if you're a woman/wife/girlfriend/mother it's so natural to put everyone else in your life first, and in the end, there might be very little left for yourself.
Hi June! I’ve been having troubles getting through. I’d touch the place where I could leave comments then it would disappear! Ooooo: “the JW demons?” Anyway! Here I am and hope this goes through. I heard about your piano and talented son. You are so right! MUSIC is Therapy! I used to be what is called an “Art and Music Therapist” when I was young and just starting out of WT to educational endeavors and work. I used to work with elderly and we’d do Art together TO music in the background (tapes I’d put together). This would evoke appropriate emotions which would become expressed in their Art! It was remarkable! Then we’d do Art Displays at libraries and other places. After WT, I had lost my home and when not homeless, had to live in tiny Apts and as you said, (now too as I’m in Senior Housing subsidized by our GOOD govt which used to be JW “worldly” and prohibited) and as a result, singing and music stopped due to neighbors who only heard percussion over the melodies. So I’d say when someone asked if I sang: “Birds never sing in caves.” In WT, I realized (but never said): Birds never sing in caves. They just hang in the dark and poop. Now, however, it’s been so long since I’ve sang that I sound like a frog. So my pleasure is putting in my earphones and blasting my music and dancing in my own little Living Room or walking in our nearby forest! That is my freedom and my therapy. Used to be DANCING when my JW husband shunned and divorced me (for non-submission on the then absolute No Blood Doctrine)...I used to finally dress up in short black dresses and go wild at kereokee! So as I said before, at least for me, being thrown to the world can be dangerous AND lovely but it may take years to learn the differences. WT does that to a person. I would love to work with former JWs in Art and Music therapy but it’s a dream I guess. Maybe when I meet them in HEAVEN! Anyway, good talking to you, June! I love to see you on your videos! Keep SINGING! Tell your son to say to heck with the old or young “bats” and keep SINGING!!!
Dear June, I love when you do interviews. This is my suggestion. I also love to hear about your life and what you've been through. I have no doubt it helps ex JWs who also struggled with remaining sober. You are a woman of great courage.

I have travelled through Asia where I favoured Afghanistan, India and Nepal.Greece became a base fore my travels in the eighties .
