Hey buddy! I am in the same boat. I have a '94 Black D9 that I bought a while ago that stood for 12 years plus! It has only 6k miles on it and John's videos really have helped me a lot. So, John, please DO NOT remove those videos - they are a source of inspiration! By the way, I lost a battle with the carbs! So I had to send them to Exeter Engineering to get full strip and clean! Quite expensive but I hope this will be the key to success!

Those R1150Rt are cracking bikes, My friend toured Europe on his, two up with is wife two years ago. It never missed a beat and covered about 5000 miles in less than a month. But I want to go smaller onto a Royal Enfield, something like the Himalayan, most of my riding is just local country lane rides.

Oh dear, John! Getting rid of the D9! I feel sorry for you buddy! But it does look like there is a rainbow at the end? Once things are settled, you should be fine. Will you get another D9 in the future? Or are you still set on the RT1150 option? Shame that CRB couldn't go first! I've had lots of bikes over the years, like yourself, and I've never had anything as reliable as the D9. In fact, I also have a GS1150 Adventure which needs constant care and attention - especially the damn drive bearing replacement and dry clutch! Anyway buddy, do let us know you are okay and again, so sorry you have said goodbye to that beautiful D9 - you did wonders getting her back to life!

Hi Paul. Thanks I'll definitely miss my D9 I loved it to bits I really did I'll probably end up with another one but it won't even be the same. Yes I'm OK trying to keep my chin up. I loved my D9's! I've had loads (including the BMW GS1200 Adventure and the associate RT1200!) but they were expensive and unreliable. If I had to pick one bike to travel the world - D9 wins! I now have a nearly new one and she is for keeps next to my GS11500 Adv. The GS is for fun and now donated to my eldest son!
