I don't do one pass shaves. At least two passes. Wet shaving is super enjoyable and I generally shave in the evening, no rush and just relax :) If I'd ever had to do a one pass shave, I'd go with my Merkur Progress in setting 5 with a Feather blade ;) Great video as always, Alex. Hope you enjoyed the Arko soap. I like the stick better. Cheers ;)
My choice for making a one-pass shave would be a good quality disposable or cartridge razor, even if I might need more than 1 pass but less than 2 full passes. (Mostly across growth and against the growth)
Alex, thank you for this great fun video. I got the Muhle R41 as a gift from my daughter yesterday and used it this morning. It is a beautiful razor and definitely does the job for me on one pass. I do shave slightly across the grain (at the same time in the first pass) but I have done that my whole life. (I don’t ever shave against the grain, ever since I was young.) Muhle is definitely a razor for those who want a one pass razor! Or two or three! The quality and function are unbelievable, and I was surprised at the Muhle blade: very, very nice, rather sharp and nicely smooth. To anyone who tries this razor I would recommend to definitely try the blades too Thank you again for the help! Have a great week!
Patrick I’m glad that you like the video! And yes, the R41 is a superb razor, and I agree with the Muhle blades, they are very smooth 😉 Thank you again for all your feedback and keep in touch! Have a great week yourself! Cheers!
Patrick - I shave exactly the same way you do using the R-41. Shaving against the grain gives me bumps and skin irritation. One pass with the R-41 gives me a clean close shave. I'm also strictly a cold water shaver.
I have that in mind for some while, like a shave den tour video 🤔 I’m gonna check out the Homelike Shaving Colibri razor, thank you for the suggestion 😉 have a great week ahead! Cheers!
Hi Alex, I love R41, one pass, pleasure and max efficiency. Sometimes we need that and drive a Ferrari, not for a daily shaves, where I would prefer a Porsche such as Feather ASd2, do you agree ?
My goto for a quickie is Merkur Futur - I don't collect too many DEs so it fits most scenarios via adjustments. I do with the grain on cheeks, side to side below the nose and against on the neck. Nice video mate, keep it up 😉
