Awesome news. That cramped turret ensures crewman will be spoiling for a fight. I'm guessing, with a hobby like this, all mishaps end in favor of the tank.

On a T55, that vertical part on the back of the turret where it meets the engine decking is the spot where you apply the LAW missle. It makes everybody inside the tank tickle a bit and the road wheels leave the hull flying sidways.
Ha - and an M109-A3 - had one of those too. Batteries were a constant pain. And I feel you when you said "everything is broken" - usually had the same problem when off to a show!

I was at the show on Sunday. We had a brilliant time. I tried to say hello to the Hewes crew, but they were so busy. This was my first time at the show, and it will be one of my go-to shows now.
What is so funny about the tractor pulling, just imagine what would happen if some "Just stop the oil" demonstrators spotted the clouds of diesel smoke and decided to come in and do their thing, ha ha ha! That would be worth a video!!!!

The Centurion dragging that sled like it's not even there is brilliant. And when the T55 was emerging from the shed I saw the silver Merc and I thought "you might want to move that". And yep, sure enough. Everything within 20 feet gets an oil coating. No matter the contest, tank wins every time.

I rode the NC 500 from SE Scotland on my Classic 350, 1100 miles in total in 3 days and first day was 435 miles on stock saddle, never has such a comfortable motorbike 😁👍 2 weeks later I road to Skye to rv with partner in the van, again super comfortable and well over 100mpg cruising at 60mph, You can definitely tour on a Classic 350 😁👍👍👍 Cheers Bruce
6:30 that's not the remains of the old alternator belt , that's Mable's old stocks they used when the alternator belt broke . They don't make stockings like they used to , back then life was a challenge when the stockings were made tank proof !!! .

Crews for the T55 were specially selected, under 1.7m tall or about 5'7" tall, however being under 1.5m was considered advantageous, it's why they developed an autoloader to help the small crew load big rounds. I worked on a military base, just after the Gulf War we took delivery of one Chinese T54 and a Russian export model T55, I was a civvy and the Base Commander was ex tank regiment, he was amazed I could tell them apart, my boss was there and had put me on the job on purpose knowing my fascination with tanks, he turned to the CO and said " I told you he would identify them". No I'm not telling you which base either.
Didn't you know Russian Tankers have universal joints for shoulders/elbows/wrists and fingers so can fit anything into anywhere without much effort! plus two thumbs on each hand!.
