You know how to tell if a movie is bad, if you cannot remember shit from it. Literally nothing. I remember everything from dark knight trilogy and mad max movies

A lot of people in the comment section don't seem to understand this man's gripes with the movie, with their only rebuttals amounting to asinine remarks like _"This movie is awesome, I loved this movie, stop complaining/ranting, this movie is based on a franchise about alien robots"_ etc. Guys, this man has his reasons for why he thought this movie was bad, and he's doing is best to explain his reasons. If the aforementioned remarks above are all you have to say to him, then it's clearly you guys who have issues, not him.

1: this movie was shit. 2: unicron is often earth in transformers lore, to be fair. Primus is always cybertron. Primus was killed during the war for cybertron in the destruction of the planet (he is the planet.) Because of this its a common plot for the autobots to grapple the morality of sacrificing earth for cybertron. 3. Jesus Christ Michael Bay is terrible. He probably threw in the Romeo and Juliet mention to justify his own creepy fetishes for highschool girls that he forcibly inserts into *every movie*

How can people even defend this movie? the arguments CorderyFX delivered are so true. I really like the transformers lore itself, but michael bay's movies are just pure garbage. No consistency and just a pure mess in the plot and story lines. Advertising and savage jokes does not make the movie any better. Even with 3 hours of fighting and plane action the movie would have been better.. :/ I really hope bay is gonna be replaced some day and then we might see a transformers movie that is worth the lore behind it...

I have this theory where Bumblebee can only manage to speak with his real voice when hes under great emotional influence. At the end of the first movie he spoke briefly. In 3, when wheeljack/Que died, he whispered "goodbye my old friend" when he was grieving, then spoke to optimus in 5. It probably takes a lot of strength for him to speak and reserves it for when he MUST. This can be backed up by that Ratchet in the first movie said hes STILL working on bee's voice box. So that might hint that Ratchet has made some, albeit small progress in giving bumblbee his voice back

Bumble Bee fought in WWII? So Bay wants Bee to be the transformers' Captain America? And he's getting his own series? The very idea of this drains the life out of me. I hope T5 bombs and puts the kibosh on all future spin offs and sequels.

I gave up on this movie's plot about 16 minutes in and just started treating it as a comedy.

I have been asking that question about how the transformers learn earth language even before the World Wide Web for a long time, and I have been talking to people how bumblebee talks in the first film but according to them he doesn't. URGH FINALLY SOMEONE WHO FEELS MY PAIN!!

The only reason I liked the first couple of movies was because of the action. It was really cool at the time but now Bay has found a way to even make the action cheesey. Like Optimus is about to kill bee and bee speaks and Prime just snaps out. To be honest if bee died there it would have been better.

the problem with this series is it's entirely run by corporate interests who have no attachment to the stories or to the characters. they just don't care because, well, they don't have to.

The problem with Michael bay making Transformers movies is that he has no love or respect for the source material. To him G1 is just a glorified toy commercial. I get the feeling he views the lore and the characters as insignificant and things that he can superficially take from Willy nilly in an attempt to placate the fans. He was a bad choice from day one and after how shitty and historically inaccurate Pearl Harbor was I know from the start he would make shithouse Transformers movies and he did just that. I know that his shitty Transformers movies made a lot of money which papered over the cracks as far as the studio was concerned. But you look at the MCU which had been building around the same time and despite its own flaws it shows a much better model of how to adapt a property adapted from people's childhoods. We don't have scores of marvel fans outraged at Kevin Feige messing up the movie adaptation of stories they cherish. At the same time you faint have people who've never read a comic book in their life complaining about how convoluted the continuity is in the MCU because they actually have a roadmap and plan things out and actually respecting the source material gives them a lot to work with, things that are established and make sense. Michael bay could have made a dumb disaster movie about alien robots from outer space that appeals to the lowest common denominator without needing to use the Transformers branding on it. Take out the Transformers character names and terms and the Transforming aspect and leave everything else the same and you have something that doesn't resemble the source material at all. I would have rather paramount had Michael bay make a dumb movie with alien robots and explosions and army men and random hot women characters who are little more than cardboard cutouts and leave Transformers alone. So that a more competent director with a better vision and more respect for the source material could have brought it to the silver screen. The saying that you only get one opportunity to make a first impression holds true here because paramount knows the bay formula has run out of steam and if they continue with bay they will get absolutely obliterated by the MCU. They know that a reboot is needed but the money made by the bayformers has them in two minds about how to do it. Even if they wanted to throw G1 fans a bone finally (as bumblebee suggested) they're reluctant to do anything too radical for fear of losing fans of the dumb action that bay gave us. The waters are tainted now and I'm not holding my breath for any bold progressive thinking from paramount. I hate to say it but the best hope we might have for a decent series of live action Transformers movies is if they take a break from making bayformers or anything too similar and for Disney to buy Hasbro. I know that suggesting something like that will get a lot of people's backs up and I can understand why. But back in the early days of Transformers on the early to mid 80s Hasbro worked very closely with marvel in developing the stories and lore of Transformers. If they were to try and approach the marvel cinematic approach to Transformers it could potentially yield better movies that bring audiences back. I know that's a very optimistic outlook but honestly I think we'd be more likely to get good, coherent, watchable Transformers movies under Disney than under paramount

I was howling at the product placement montage and the G1 cartoon style transition switch with Mountain Dew. The Bumblebee movie was so good, I am PRAYING that Transformers 7 is a) NOT directed by Michael Bay and b) a Bumblebee sequel.

Didn't have time to give any of the Transformers characters CHARACTER and a little thing called DEVELOPMENT and RELATIONSHIPS and DYNAMICS but we had time to explain how some guy is the last knight whatever tf that is, some girl is a descendent of Merlin and how some 20 something year old is legally allowed to have sex with a teenager...... In a TRANSFORMERS movie

I would dare to say that Tranformers 1-3 do NOT contradict themselves.. Megatron could have been chasing the allspark for both power of creating new cybertronian life and for the knowledge of sun harvester's location as mentioned in TF2 during Megatron's conversation with Fallen and Sam. Thus TF 1 and 2 are connected and the third one fits in as well. Before Megatron left for Earth, he could have made a deal with Sentinel that if Cybertron falls, they can reestablish it together on Earth, where sun harverster is and the allspark as well, thus they have everything needed to drain energon from our Sun and the device to give transformers life and it also carries knowledge of whereabouts about the sun drainer. They need both energon to give cybetronians their form AND allspark to give them "soul", so it makes sense to have both allspark and the drainer to collect missing energon. And they need Sentinel's pillars to bring Cybertron to Earth, so they can EASILY use resources gained through sun harverster and allspark to rebuild the planet without travelling long distances.. so to put it simple - EVERY PLOT DEVICE IN TF 1-3 WAS CONNECTED TO A GRAND SCHEME OF REBUILDING CYBERTRON FROM EARTH.

Transformers 3 : This movie did NOT have the original transformers vibes from the previous 2 movies. Did not like it that much. Still great action. Transformers 4 : Trash as fuck. The 1986 G1 movie and the 2018 Bumblebee movie are the only true Transformers till date. Bumblebee had the chemistry between humans and Transformers are far far better than that Baycrap.

Remember that scene where Optimus was fighting Lockdown, and first there was this random guy that appeared next to Cade while he was hiding, and than what do we see, while we are supposed to be in China (or Japan) the damn, Willis Tower!

Transformers 1 through 3, I think the plot sticks pretty well. I will do my best to explain it. From what I can make out, the Allspark comes to Earth, Megatron searches for it, cause the Allspark is like a vessel for a mass amount of Energon. The Allspark is 'destroyed,' so they need a new way to get Energon, and apparently, they can make the shit out of stars and they build harvesters in specific locations for that purpose. I guess the original Primes werent cool with The Fallen harvesting Earth's sun, cause of humanity, so they beat his ass and he's out for the count until *ALL* the Primes are dead. All the Primes die, but Optimus came back and decimated his Cybertonian asscheeks. Then, apparently, in the third film, he made a deal with Sentinel Prime. Sentinel's ship gets shredded to make it look authentic since the Cybertronians cant respect each others' opinions and are constantly at each others' throats, so his ship is destroyed, crashes on the Moon and Megatron brings him back. They try to bring Cyberton to Earth, to rebuild the planet, using the humans as slaves and Earth for resources. I think that right there could make for something good, if you pound out some stuff, elaborate on things, and find the balance of action and characterization. It's also pretty serious, which is kind of surprising when you think about it. From what I remember, Transformers tends to not be too serious, especially G1.

I just watch these films for Peter Cullen's Optimus voice. And I genuinely enjoyed most of the very first film when I was younger.

I watched the last knight on one of the streaming services and i got to the a point i couldn't watch it anymore. The camera changed all the time. It gave me a headache and i personally didn't like the characters. I felt it was insulting my intelligence.

I remember the original Transformers on VHS and Unicron is not earth but a planet that eats other planets in the galaxies

Personally, I consider 1 to 4 extra guilty pleasures. I enjoy 1 and 4 the most, probably because of Stockholm Syndrome at work. I like 1 because it's decent as a start of a franchise (I mean compared to other live action 80s - 90s franchises... It's fine.) 4 because at least Mark Wahlberg is kind of better written than Shia Labeouf and the robots developed personalities, there are also small character arcs. But this one is just one thing that made me want to punch Bay. It's most likely because I've been spoiled by TF Prime and the comics, which did sooo much better in storytelling and characters, the severe mess and the lack of those two elements in the Last Knight just infuriated me.

They could've made better use of Hot Rod, the actor itself is fine and the voice I can deal with but Hot Rod was just as bad ass in the cartoon as BumbleBee is in the movies. Could've done some teaming up if you'd ask me.

Hard to believe they made one even worse than Revenge of the Fallen. Yet people still pay to see this rubbish. It's not even original rubbish. Just the same thing repeated over and over. It's one thing to find a crap film entertaining in some way or another but to be happy to pay for the same thing over and over, no originality or creativity is just embarrassing.

Michael Bay doesn't have any idea about the backgrounds of the Transformers, I can even bet that he will not recognize some of the transformers toys especially the G1 toyline. He has no passion about the characters as he was only paid to do the film...that's just it.

When I saw the credit's I felt like I had only seen half the movie because all of the thins that happend that weren't explained in any way. It was just a bunch of robots fighting and suddenly the movie was over. At least the previous movies had somehow a start and a end.

As a matter of fact yes, I do prefer Beast Wars over most recent Transformer media. Most specifically bayformers crap. The designs can be cool (at times) but overall it's just some weird mesh of unfinished and rushed ideas that got lumped together on a movie for several movies.

To be entirely fair to the Romeo and Juliet laws they mentioned in Age of Extinction, it does say something about having to date for so long prior to the older of the two being 18, so it's not like some 65y/o creep or even an upper 20's creep can date a teenager, though I totally agree it was a dumb thing to put in the movie.
