Texas dog owner wakes up to find his dog, Chico, has gone viral after an overnight escape and adventure that included a stop at the Odessa Police Department.
The fact that Chico left and got back to his owner before his absence could be noticed makes me feel like he has his own private life where he just socializes outside of his home for fun. Who else is he visiting????
I have exactly the same questions. One of my cats visits is out visiting even as I write this. I know generally where he is -- visiting other people and pets in my building -- but if I needed to find him right now I'd have to go door to door. With cats you almost expect them to have a private life of some kind, but Chico and Edwin seem to take this to a different level. Perry the Playpus vibes is exactly right.
Husky and German Shepard? Oh, Lord. You are in for some shedding, talking and running away! Chico got bored. He went on an adventure and, because he's a good boy, went back home. Love dogs. ❤️
I have the same mix and good lord, the shedding in spring is unreal. 2 Wal-Mart bags full of floof when me and my sister finished brushing him after 20 minutes.
The silly and naughty side of him as a husky escaped but the responsible, disciplined side of him as a German Shepherd made him come back home just in time.
Are you missing the part that dogs trapped behind fences, without grass, will escape to walk themselves. Do you think it is good to have a large dog and NEVER walk it, to stress it out so much it runs a mile to the cops to ask for help? What do you know of sentient beings?
@@azaleablue2261 Why do you assume Chico never gets walks and they stress him out? Or that the un-filmed back yard is without grass? Doesn't look stressed at any point, and his favourite game is fetch. I was in the front yard one day when a husky decided to come over and say "hello". Luckily he had a phone number on his collar, so I rang the worried owners. They were at a nearby large off leash dog park walking him when he decided to keep going on his own. I walked him back down there and he was super excited to see his family. They take him to various parks to give him variety, but this one is unfenced as it's so big. No stress from the Husky, just from me worried I couldn't let go of his collar before he dragged me over. That's a husky for ya, take off and make new friends whenever they can. I've had a dog that did the same when I grew up (labrador retriever cross), despite living on a farm and playing with her for at least an hour every school day and many hours on weekends. Some dogs just like escaping, exploring, and making friends when they see the opportunity, usually to return before being busted.
I love so many things here: the obviously loving owner, the kind cops that didn't hurt the dog in fear, how the dog just went for a visit and his human would never have been the wiser if it weren't for the cousin, and the interview with the dog LOL
Not far from where I live an elderly Spanish man had 2 pit dogs well when he went out his front door with the dogs, a black man on a motorcycle rode by asking the owner of the dogs can I pet your dog, as the dog owner started to go black inside the house the black man on the motorbike picked up one pit dog and rode off with the dog. Do you want more stories I got many more to tell. Back to the dog, time passed . What happened later, the old man was lucky with my help and the police he got the dog back yes he was lucky do not let this happen to you, you may not be so lucky.
@@user-bx1iq1jj5w Yeah, I hope the man in the vid fixed the fence so his dog doesn’t get out again. Also, I’d be worried someone may try to take him because he’s a “famous” dog.
Do you walk your dogs, or wait for them to become so desperate they escape? Large dogs need to walk at least 2 miles every single day and sniff everything. I walk my 10lb little dog 2 miles everyday. He gets to sniff everything. He would never run away because he knows EVERYDAY rain or shine we will walk until he is done. Sometimes, he gets tired and I carry him, until he is ready to sniff and walk again, but he gets his DOG on. Do your dogs?
@@melviasheppard8466 Probably true...but it seems unlikely the meth heads are up and cooking food? They seem really skinny and malnourished. I bet that dog smelled food they were warming in the microwave and he was like, "hmmm...smells delicious...I will investigate". lol
@@DummyDonkeh YES! Such a valid point! OMG, how many times did I not even go to sleep the night before I had to turn in a paper. I'd just finish it, shower, get dressed, and head to campus. lol
Watching the happiness of a puppy running and playing, gives me the same joy as watching a giggling wee one jumping up and down on a bed. I guess it's because in a way, they're both puppies.
I used to groom dogs, and huskies are the biggest "talkers" by far when you try to do something they're opposed to 😅 They're an incredibly intelligent breed, though. They definitely have "a mind of their own."
@@TheMarioMen1 they want to do it, it's in their blood. They're not breed for this kind of competition lol. They're rather free spirits, and will show you exactly what they want or don't want
That’s cool!! He is so cute . He is special no doubt! Just love him and treat him good. Give him a hug from me . Sending love to Chico from Tennessee!!
"So, you want to apply to be a K9 officer?" "Woof." "Are you in good health?" "Woof." "Have you studied police procedure and regulations?" "Woof." "Do you speak any other languages?" "Meow."
Chico just wanted to show the world how happy, healthy, & loving he is with life, being with his family. We know now just how much your loved Chico alright?🤗❤
@Belinda Babette , Dogs have the mind of a human 2 1/2 year old. The reporter just thought it would bring some added humor to the situation. No one on this thread asked a question. Loosen up.
he's just a jokester.. "id like to report a missing person.. who.. me ! har har evil laugh as he runs out the door.. Good joke that one! i'll have to think of one tomorrow.."
That reporter handled that story perfectly! I love how she interviewed the dog and translated for him! I also love it that Chico wasn’t a guard dog because he was too nice and playful. I bet Chico would be a good guard dog if he felt his owner was being threatened. Chico was obviously raised with love, attention and fun. He didn’t drop the ball, rather, he wanted his owner to try to get the ball! That’s Chico’s game! Chico also sees strangers as friends and probably saw people in the police station and figured he could make some friends there - and he was right!
When I was a kid we had a 3 year old collie rescued from being a breeder at a puppy mill & she turned out to be a bit of a goof and a huge sports nut (we wondered if she ever had a chance to just be a puppy and play); and, she could be a guard dog when a situation warranted. Perhaps related to her occasional guard dog act was that if any of us kids started fighting, uh-uh, NOT going to be allowed on her watch! She would dive right in and physically break it up.
I had a dog that would disappear for days along with the neighbor dog. They always came back but I often wondered where they went and if they had another family somewhere. They were always in good shape, fed and clean. A mystery to this day.
Who know's how many times he'd been out roaming and where he may have gone only to come home in the morning as if nothing had ever happened. That dogs got history and he aint saying a thing without his lawyer present. lol
Such a friendly doggo! I love his cheeky self. How many dogs could escape, run to the cops, become an internet sensation, and then come home all without their owner knowing! IO love it. Definitely a lot of love between him and his owner, dogs are amazing because they love unconditionally.
A local dog from a farm kept sneaking two miles away to a store, walked through the automatic doors, right to where he knew the dog bones were. Stole the bones, walked right back home. The store put up wanted posters, and one day the owner showed up to the store again for a dog treat, and the dog was busted. It made local news, so hilarious.
@@groowanderer It was some national show. If it wasn't the evening news, maybe it was something like a little pallet cleansing story at the end of 20/20 when they had time to fill (because it's an adorable story lol). I definitely remember seeing the footage of fido walking into the pet store, walking over to where the treats were kept, turning his head sideways to pick up the treat, and making a swift getaway back out the door. lol When there is a favorite food/treat involved, dogs can remember how to get to that food/treat FOR YEARS. I've seen my own dog do it. He would drag me to a place I never go...but my friend had taken him there and they gave him turkey (at a human deli lol) and my dog tried to drag me back in the shop 2 years after we moved away and had not been back to the neighborhood once. I laughed and laughed that my dog stood outside that deli and tried to get in when people opened the door to come out. I could not believe what I was seeing. lol
I’m so sorry you lost your beloved dog. Words can’t express the love we have them… From the time they are puppies, adulthood, elderly to finally the loss. We remember every single moment we had with them. 🦋😢🌹
Sorry for losing your pup. It sucks at the end but it's always worth it. Had to put my older rescue husky down around Christmas. Got another dog. It was hard walking the new dog on his leash, but the circle always keeps going.
@@Joeyblondewolf2 Yes that's also possibly true :) Hi I watch your YT videos. YOu still look the same all these years lol. Are you really a vampire or you found the fountain of youth. Pls share b/c I'm looking like a saggy raisin
He's a good boy! Just needed a little adventure. My Husky pups are the same. They break out of their room when I'm gone, but always seem to be where they're supposed to be when I get back home. Sneaky boys.
Weird he'd go a mile, walk through the doors to the station, and put his feet up on the counter like he was looking for someone. Reincarnated police dog...? 😳
I had a lab mix who would randomly go visit his grandpa..my father in law lived about half a mile away and Harley (my pup) would get out of the fence sometimes during the day while I was at work and hangout with him. The first time he did it I freaked out thinking he was lost forever..after awhile I knew just to call my father in law to see if he was there...always was. They are both gone now and I like to think they are together up in Heaven..
@Wolfy Because it’s a dog, they are ultimately all the same. The only difference lies in how much exercise and stimulus they need; a Maltese is fine with a twice a day 15 minute walk, a Malamute with that routine however will almost certainly end up destroying every single piece of furniture in your house.
@Wolfy Wow, you’re a condescending little prick aren’t you. Why do you think that dog escaped? A well trained dog who has enough exercise throughout the day would never escape. I could leave my gate open and my dog would just stare at it. The fact that the dog escaped is why. Prick.
Yes‼️🐶 Probably wanted police department secretary or Officers to play catch the bank robber . Police Officers saying to the dog " Hey boy go fetch me a bank robber "!
Alessis, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Chiko is being a little unreasonable wanting Edward to play fetch with him at 3am, it might have been a work-night.
Brings back memories of when our family dog followed me to the train station a mile away. Amazingly, she found her way back home; she had never done that before, nor since.
Yes, I do vividly recall the video about that doggie escaping daycare & heading home to ring the doorbell, which was captured by the security cam. The 'Pawrents, on vacation,' then rang the daycare to fetch him ❗😂❗
@@marietheresa7866 yeap and I trying to find the one delivery man delivers bread but the owner was not there yet he gives the dog a bread and the dog levs it on the floor just then the owner of the store shows up see the bread and gives it to the dogs only them he takes it.
