Writer Nick Eliot (played by Cary Elwes) relocates to a new city to pursue a job at a magazine. He decides to rent a room in the house of Cliff (portrayed by Kurtwood Smith) and Liv Forrester (played by Gwynyth Walsh). Their 14-year-old daughter, Adrian (portrayed by Alicia Silverstone), immediately expresses her attraction to Nick. While Nick engages in a romantic relationship with photographer Amy Maddik (played by Jennifer Rubin) at work, he struggles to resist Adrian's advances. As Adrian's infatuation with Nick intensifies, she becomes enraged by his rejection and begins vandalizing his property and targeting his friends.
