@@suburbanindie Undeerated - Not rated or valued highly enough. Yep, he definitely fits into that category. No one gives a shit about the rock and roll hall of fame
I was so psyched when I read the title. Always liked Homme but he really jacked this up. Just get someone that wants to sing this song next time. What a waste of the other musicians time.
Elliot Easton is one of the greatest 'unknown' guitarists, but this guy couldn't handle Benjamin Orr's vocals, not even close, and he blew the lyrics a few times, even though the telepromter was right there, you could see his embarrassment when he fubbed it the 2nd time.
I haven't seen anyone talk about how cool it is for Josh Homme to be rocking these covers at these concerts... he's always been the dark mysterious dude... it's gotta be cathartic for everyone to just rock out.
I love the Cars, but their concert was one of the most disappointing I ever attended, and this was in Cleveland, Ben Orr’s hometown, in 1984. They basically stood on stage and played the songs exactly like the album. Very little energy. The only time they addressed the crowd was when Ric said “Hello, Cleveland”, and at the end when he said goodnight. I still love their music, but I never went to another of their concerts.
@@michaelholmes6385 My friend who is 10 yrs older than me said the same thing. Saw them here in LA in probably 84, said it was the most boring concert he's ever been to haha. Ah well, great tunes like you said.
One of the things y’all may not know is that all the Cars songs were recorded and mixed for radio (I heard this on an interview in 70 something)They were huge in their day but not really a live show band, great never the less.
Elliot is one of the greatest soloists of all time. Very tasty, tricky and unusual. Perfect for the songs. Too bad Josh was chosen to sing this. He totally screwed it up and didn’t even know the lyrics. 🙄
I have mixed feelings , Elliot was on point as always he’s a great guitar player. Missed Greg on keyboards etc and most of all I missed Benjamin playing his bass guitar I’m sure he was clapping his hands 🙌 the guy did a good job singing but there’s no one that can sings like Benjamin can with his voice, looks and his expressions when he’s singing. I hope he knows how much he is loved and missed. 💔💔💔
Jesus, Josh Homme couldn't learn the lyrics or hit the notes. So many better options to have sang that song to do Orr justice (and honor him), not sure why it had to be him. Elliot killed it as always. Absolutely one of the greatest rock guitarists ever.
Homme fucked up the lyrics. How does one do that, exactly? And he was off key. I'm guessing 1. He's the only guy on the planet who's never heard the song, 2. He's drunk, hungover or both, 3. Dude just didn't give a shit. Shameful. Ben Orr was cringing in his grave.
Exactly. Most commenters had no idea who was butchering one of The Cars best songs. 23 years after Benjamin Orr’s death, we remember who sang it. Man should have been ashamed to get on that stage with EE and f that song up as bad as he did.
Total embarrassment to Cars fans, as well as Benjamin Orr's and Ric Ocasek's legacy. Why would you consider choosing someone who doesn't know or even bothered to learn the lyrics to sing? Joshua homme looks like he could care less about it! I've said it before and I'm saying again, I'm loosing more respect for Homme. I know that Homme and Grohl are friends, but come on?! The band sounded great! Bless you Elliott Easton for playing with this trainwreck of a "singer". 🙄
