That is exactly how I experienced edf the first time. Can confirm it is absolutely the best way to be introduced.

Absolutely the best way to play the game. Or, really, any game in the franchise. I got it free on console and went, "Eh, looks schlocky". It was better than schlock. I played 5 levels solo... Then conned my friend into picking the game up and playing with me. two-weeks of the game we played non-stop. Best. Game. Franchise. Ever.

I'd go with "Aliens are invading us with giant insects. We have to stop them. It's a Japanese game. Just Buy." :P

@@ranghildsbil Earth Defense Force 2025, giant alien ants invade earth. It 50 dollars on xbox which honestly is worth it. It a collect em all weapon type, fun to grind.

@@ranghildsbil So basically there's these aliens called ravagers that made these giant insects to kill humanity (fyi anything mechanical like ships and robots are the ravagers themselves) It's pretty fun and is pure gameplay. There are four classes. Ranger, Wing Diver, Air raider and Fencer. Rangers are the normal soldiers. Their weapons are the most versatile and easy to use and they also act as the healer for AI soldiers, healing them when you pick up a health kit. They also have the best long range weaponry in the game(opinion). Their weaknesses are their movement. Wing divers have a jetpack that enables them to dodge enemy attacks and fly around the battlefield real quick like. They're pretty good at kiting enemies. Pretty bad at anything long range. Your jetpack and most of your weapons require energy to work. Air raider is the support class. They work best in teams but soloing with them is certainly an option. They have support equipment that buff your allies, call for supports (Artillery, bombing runs, etc) and can also set traps with stationary equipment. They can also call in vehicles which are their primary form of damage. Other than vehicles and call for supports, they only have the limpet guns which are basically grenade launchers(They only detonate with a press of a button and reloading makes the limpets you place dissapear) Fencer is the most advanced class. Their weaponry consists of heavy weapons that while awkward to use can destroy targets with high hp rather quickly. They have dash jets that allow them to traverse quickly especially with dash cancelling(look it up)

^ The above is an unnecessary description for EDF 4.1. But yes basically it's a game that's absolutely pure gameplay. There's 5 difficulties. The difficulties other than making it harder also increase the level of the loot you get(Higher mission number also increases loot level cap but only to a certain degree) Gameplay in this is basically just shooting the enemies till they're all dead or survive. All the classes play extremely differently. The enemies come in big giant hordes. It has quite a charm to it and despite the simple premise it's very satisfying. You can even turn your brain off on Normal and Easy if that's your thing

Yep. It turns the slowest class into the fastest. How to: Bring a shield, and use the shield immediately after dashing to immediately dash again. Alternately a lot of other weapons will dash cancel, but I don't know what they are off the top of my head.

AJsarge Yeah I usually bring a Jackhammer and Deflector for dashing and decent crowd control, and then two Gatling guns or arty or something.

@@AJsarge1 I know it's been 2 years but the Javelin Launcher also works if you fire it like you would use the shield.

How to do dash cancelling?

@@Sorinoir Immediately do a shield reflect after dashing, you can dash again right after finishing the animation. With a small shield like the reflector it lets you cover ground much, much faster.

Actually no both the Ranger and Specialist can drive any vehicle, while Fencer can use ridiculous strong weapons and the other class that I don't remember the name can fly also vehicles are hard to control and depending of which one you put you can't deploy then from the start

Insect armageddon was sorta sucky compared to this. It's certainly a lot cooler but it wasn't as satisfying for me.
