true! Shadow is about 1/6th of the game. He’s proof that you can make a HUGE impact with not a lot of screen time.

Shadow was supposed to be dead at the end of SA2 and his character arc went nowhere afterwards.

That's true and the fans loved him so much that Sega brought him back having us think was he real or fake all along until his own game confirmed to us that he was the real Shadow all along thanks Eggman!

SA1-Heroes, Sonic is Amy's only character trait. Unfunny

(apologies for this being long) Personally, I got it. He did get some good character development. He learned how to relax & enjoy more types of entertainment. Someone who has spent their whole life fighting with ONE goal take a long time to figure out how to settle down or even realize they SHOULD settle down. Wade is also now wiser and more experienced, (him & Knuckles are literally Sokka & his swordsman teacher,) G.U.N was more properly integrated, we have characters to connect to G.U.N in a way that kinda *forshadows* Rouge appearing at some point with how that lady knows so much about Knuckles & other aliens. Speaking of the #1 Knucks himself (seriously, he's my favorite, and here I am defending his "lack" of screen time), most if not all times Knuckles wasn't focused as much as Wade, he wasn't really doing anything. He was either just chilling, or was just doing something that wasn't as important at the moment as what was going on with Wade. I agree in that I wish we did get to see more Knucks, and it does feel like some stuff could've been done better, but I also see now that they did the best they could with all that was going on. Honestly, I hope we get to see more of Wade's mom; she was awesome, she's badass, and I think she did the most in helping Knuckles get in much character development, and I. LOVE IT. Knuckles was losing a sense of purpose, and I love how helping Wade and his fam helped himself as a person in return. He has a new sense of purpose now, and honestly, I think bringing Amy in would've REALLY taken that away. Knuckles & Wade got enough spotlight in there already, we DO NOT need any new MAJOR CHARACTERS in an f-ing MINI SERIES! 😂 Then you'd have a HUGE reason to complain about with screentime! "Omg Amy stole the show, it was supposed to be Knuckles! Wade was already enough! 😭😫" Oh and let's not forget the ton of Easter eggs, all we learned about knucks' past, then there's more about G.U.N's spotlight importance I didn't mention, and other things that actually make more than 80% of the series worth being the way it is. And with the problem of "too many humans"... I think they're getting better at making humans feel better in the universe. The G.U.N agent dude is very interesting. Like bro's a killer with pent up bloodlust. Then also of course Mrs. Whipple, Tom, Robotnic & Stone, the kids, and the whole epic wedding crash take-back think. And now just the way any of the Sonic trio react to anyone is enough for me for the most part. 😂 And c'mon. These aliens are literally coming to OUR planet which is FULL of humans! WE'RE EVERYWHERE! How can humans NOT be involved? Thinking about if they decided to do the film stories taking place in space and only visiting Earth (which is the only way to get a lot less humans), I personally think that would have made it much worse of a movie. Not nearly as entertaining. It's just the newer games & old shows all over again or a Star Wars + Star Trek parody as live action. Then there'd be so much CGI, it may as well be completely animated.

​@willbrgamer5137 That's reaching at best. I'm gonna have to agree with the other guy. Getting through to Shadow was the only useful thing Amy did in SA2 as far as the story is concerned. Up until that point, she's just a tag-along. If she is included in the third film, they're gonna have to give her more to do to justify her existence in the movie. She can't just exist solely for that one scene. Otherwise, yeah. They could easily give that role to another character.

It could work and may be fun if done respectful to Amy's character. I wouldn't mind Amy to be Sonic's fangirl at first too, say, after he saves her. As for sassy side, you probably mistake game Amy from Boom and Fleetway Amy. Sure, fortunately game Amy is sassy now thanks to Frontiers and Tweeter Takeovers, but she wasn't like that in the games until 2022

TBH, Rouge should have been introduced in the Knuckles Show.

I fully agree, like, there's only 4(or 7 if you count Manic, Sonia and Scourge)that's almost as bad and/or rare as Knuckles being the last Echidna, there's also other species in the franchise that we don't see enough of(Fox, Cat, Bird, etc)

@@YujiUedaFan I did too. But learning how Marvel adding characters, and then throw them in the movies to confuse people who only follow movies. It's better if Knuckles show was a movie with a big budget and stakes. It's a 3 hours miniseries that could've been cut down and tweaked. Come on.

The unfortunate thing is Sally's like garbage to Sega and they want her to be completely forgotten, so making Amy girlboss and leader of the resistance is normal because it's new to Sega of Japan. But I kinda agree, aside from obsession with Sonic we need all the previous traits should stay with her like short temper. I just hope Amy stays consistently well-written character and she wouldn't be treated just as gag like in 2000's games and Sonic X

It really seems like these people are desperate to find any reason to deflect criticism of the sonic movies despite the obvious flaws they have, the knuckles series is a great example of this.

These characters were literally made to be marketable in multimedia and it's insane how even Sonic fans act like out-of-touch movie execs.

Scratcher and Grounder is replaced by Agent Stone for this interpterion of Eggman. Realistically for the list of characters to appear would be Amy Rose and Rouge. Big and Froggy as a cameo like SA2 did.

People only hate Amy because of how she was in Sonic Heroes until Generations. Sonic Boom was the first time Amy became the group mum/bossy girl (though Sonic Boom Amy took it further than main series Amy).

I wish more details for Sonic 3 too. Even if they're making such surprises, it's really not when you grab Amy or/and Rouge in it.

But if this is true then it would certainly take away from Rouges role or her role entirely in the movie. I really dont get the argument that its "not kid friendly". Tails feels the weakest for now, as Sonic and Knuckles had more presentation, while Tails' goes by too quickly and is overshadowed compared to Sonic and Knuckles'.

Exactly. Thank you. If Illumination can market a movie about Ducks and have it be a hit, Paramount can market a movie that is unapologetically about this beloved IP with a built-in fanbase. Like them or not, Illumination demonstrate that a great marketing campaign can make literally anything a hit.

You have a point to an extent. But you *can’t* ignore the power of Nintendo’s image in regards to Mario. His perception in gaming as quality and value is essentially the Mickey Mouse of gaming and that influence compared to Sonic’s is more clean than the fanbase pretend it’s not. That influence is gonna carry into the films too, that’s something you can’t dismiss even if it wasn’t Illumination who made the film. Sure, that may sound like a weak argument in Sonic isn’t held in the same respect as Mario, but that difference still exists. It would be nice having the two being respected on the big screen too and to Sonic’s credit, he made the first example in recent years before Mario did. I feel that Paramount corporate(same for everyone else) needs to look at their IP under a critical eye from both perspectives in so they can do the best possible with what they have. Amy and Rouge can theoretically work together for Sonic 3, but it’s up to them to make the groundwork solid. It CAN work, just put IN the work.

@@demetriusnp49 I've no problem believing under any circumstance Mario would gross more than Sonic when it comes to movies and that the inherent value of the IP is what makes that difference, my point is that the difference in popularity between the two is not so vast that it's singlehandedly the one thing allowing Mario to be everything Sonic isn't on the big screen (for better or worse, the Mario movie is it's own issue).
