This and another video made me realise something, apologies for the delayed thought: People are freaking about Amy's status quo being changed by Ian's Frontiers, but that game makes fundamental changes to ALL supporting characters, not just Amy. Her consequences were just the most apparent. Knuckles has stoicly protected Angel Island and his people's history- but by the end of Frontiers, he's decided to leave Angel Island behind and see the world, saying he wants to live more like Sonic. This is a massive change in role and, arguably, personality. Tails needed salvaging after Forces, but he wasn't just made brave again, he's stepping away as a sidekick and aims to become a contemporary to Sonic. Whether there's a time skip or not this is Tails letting go of his traditional role in the franchise. As the cut scene said, he's grown up now. And Eggman, obviously! The villain scientist who shows contempt for his creations suddenly realises he can have parental feelings for his machines to the point of showing them love and consideration. I'm surprised more creators aren't talking about it, but Ian Flynn has planted a flag that all of these character status quo is now over. Every character of Sonic's 'team' has left behind what previously defined them. Is this a good thing, or a concern?
tbh i think itd be cool if after eggmans death, if agent stone kinda took over in honor of robotnik directing all the badniks or smth and becoming an actual villain
That Persona example made me yearn for another attempt at a Sonic RPG and for it to be made by Atlus this time. Mario gets 3 RPGs in a year and we haven't seen an RPG since Chronicles: the Dark Brotherhood. I also wish in terms of branding SEGA could look at something like Mega Man. Okay maybe not the lack of *new* Mega Man content, but we've had X, Legends, Zero, ZX, Star Force... The classic/modern split is such a limitation and tbh I'm tired of every 2D game being classic Sonic. There's plenty of fans who have come of age that would love some attention for Advance and Rush.
i think sega should leave Sa 1 and Sa2 alone, i just got this feeling they'll mess it up. plus they'll use the new voice actors. we'll loose the poetic shadow voice in a remake
I had no idea this existed (or really any Klonoa fan films), but this was good. The animation style reminded me of those old Rankin Bass Christmas specials
One episode from this series that I really remember and really LOVED was "Revolt in the Fifth Dimension". Now I'd like to see its original version from "Rocket Robin Hood", "Dementia 5"!
I AM SO GLAD I CLICKED ON THIS VID! there are so many people who completely misunderstand Amy’s character! AND IT DRIVES ME UP THE WALL! I’ve always looked up to her, she’s definitely the type of character that young girls and boys would be happy to see on screen! She’s just such an important part of the main four and if she were in the third instalment, having her play such an important role like turning shadow?! It would be crazy not to have her in the story! Of course if she wasn’t, I’d still be happy with just shadow, sonic and the rest but from my point of view, I personally feel it would be too similar to the second movie but aside from that, I’m so glad that this amazing, kind and strong Character is getting the recognition she most absolutely deserves! #JUSTICEFORAMYROSE!! ❤
Well u couldnt be more wrong about that Pup. Evan and Ian's influence are causing the comics to bomb in sales as they are barely sold in stores. I have a local library called Barnes And Noble and guess what I saw a whole section full of comics as they are not selling hell not alot of game fans like myself even knew about the IDW comics till like 2021 as Sega themselves barely promoted them like they dont give a turd about them as I think they know the license will expire soon and they will take it back from IDW. Idw went through massive layoffs recently and they lost the license to GI Joe and Transformers and Sonic might be next. They are making money from the movies and games but not the comics due to Ians bad writing and Evan trailing on his coat tails woth no changes in the writing at all as shes basically his yes man and does what he tells her to do.
Btw the wing thing is possibly a very obscure reference to the Dark Arms from the archie comic which is Black Arm's version of the colour wisp. It was used by Eclipse the Darkling the Ultimate Alien himself.
Sonic's biggest problem is no one can agree what his biggest problem really is because this franchise and what it encompass has had so many different takes on what he's been already. If anything trying to unify the brand is the real mistake because not all of us agree with the unified vision or care to approach it. For example I disagree with almost every point you bring up, keep the comic writers far away from the games, in fact keep the comics and games as far away from each other as possible. Tying multimedia together too tightly is just as bad for how the franchise is perceived as it could help it, if not WORSE because if everything is tied together how does a fan keep track of what is or isn't relevant if all they care about is the games? Even then what if a given fan doesn't play every game surrounding a particular ongoing narrative? Why should I expect a long running narrative or shift in characterization from a loony toons-esque, rubber hose limbed, anthropomorphic blue hedgehog that fights a balloon shaped narcissist with a robot fetish?
Super powers MASSIVELY improve this problem by trivializing the bosses and making most zone replays more fun. However, it’s still a shame that they were made this way. I will never do a new run of Superstars because of the ridiculous bosses.
I do believe that it'd be better make Sonic games more stylized. You can also just change the artstyle alltogether. I mean it doesn't really matter as long as the characters look right. What really matters is that the game looks pretty. I do wonder why Sonic characters aren't allowed to squash and stretch ever since Shadow the Hedgehog (game)
As much as I consider SA2 one of the greatest game ever, I can hardly call it the best; I consider Sonic Unleashed as the GOAT since they introduced the boost game in the 7th generation consoles. However, the story of the former is just top notch, because we see two perspectives running parallel to reach other, sometimes even clashing together, and that Shadow’s reform after learning of Maria’s true wish makes it all the more bittersweet
My problem with current sonic brand is that everything is being unified under one continuity / universe / timeline. Everything must be the exact same thing which is the Games and IDW. We aren’t allowed to have other interpretations of the brand like Archie or SatAM or Fleetway or within the games: adventure anime sonic vs cartoony Pixar comedy sonic. We just have like you said: Modern, Classic, Movie Sonic. Just three. Nothing else. No continuation/revival/reboot of older defunct continuities of sonic allowed, leaving money on the table.
My top 10 Sonic levels imo 1. Mystic Cave 2. Casino Night 3. Oil Ocean (Sonic 2. Also that might be controversial) 4. Mirage Saloon 5. Star Light 6. Hydrocity (mania) 7. Aquatic Ruin 8. Ice Cap 9. Chemical Plant (sonic 2) 10. Green Hill (mania) Now my favorite classic games imo 1. Sonic 2 2. Sonic Mania 3. Sonic 3&K 4.Sonic CD 5. Sonic 1
