Has BVS been better received maybe they wouldn’t have pulled the plug on it mid picture and we might have gotten a watchable movie. Would’ve been nice. I tried to watch it again recently and while I sorta like the BVS directors cut justice league is almost unwatchable.
I think if they'd have released the ultimate cut of BvS to theatres instead of the theatrical cut we would of had a much better chance of Snyder continuing his vision.

Having watched BvS in the cinema and then the extended version later, I can easily believe that there was a lot of good stuff cut out that would've improved Justice League if it hadn't been cut. The extended cut of BvS is better than the cinematic release so I don't doubt the same would apply to Justice League.
I saw Civil War and BvS just about a week, or so, apart.Loved Civil War. Never wanted it to end. About 40 minutes into BvS, I was impatient for it to be over already. I pretty much grew more and more annoyed from there. That summer, I watched the extended cut of BvS, at home, with my brother, who was visiting & wanted to see it regardless of my warnings. I remembered digging the score, so figured that would be my consolation until I fell asleep. It was amazing how much shorter the 3 hour version felt than the 2-1/2 hour. Seeing the way the plot unfolded, a few pieces at a time, from opposing perspectives, like origami opening up, driven, operatically, by what is, in my opinion, one of Zimmer's best scores ever, it seemed almost obvious, that the mess of an edit I had seen a few months before, had to have been deliberate. I'm still boggled that WB would spend all that money with Snyder, confidently telling the story in a way he'd clearly spent much time mapping out, then effectively castrate the end product in a way that rendered it exhausting and near unwatchable.

Jay oliva, ray fisher and jason mamoa have all said enough and zack snyder has hinted the same constantly. I dont think any key scenes are missing. Zack did say he shot everything he storyboarded. So there's that. I dont know if the hashtag will lead to the cut being released. I certainly hope so. But even if it doesnt i'll tell you what it does do. It brings alot of fans together. It furthers a discussion about artistic independence and studio intervention. It definitely helps collect more evidence of all the scenes that were lost and all that could have been. But most importantly it helps raise over 60k for suicide awareness and prevention. So maybe it might seem like a temper tantrum, but to me and quite a few others, it's alot more.

@@BuckDat i honestly think they might be referring to a somewhat completed version since we know there have been scenes with full cgi that were removed from the movie. We know that zack was working with the vfx crew after the shooting was completed and also he was there for the post production ADR. That being said, not only were scenes cut but so many were re-shot by joss which means that the original must still exist. And JunkieXL was fired very late in the game. I dont know if the snydercut is so perfectly preserved and requires no additional tweaking. In all probability it does require some hopefully inexpensive improvements but whatever it must be would definitely be better than what we got. And for that alone i think the demand for the release of the snydercut is justified.

I love how people are always so quick to say the feel and tone of the OG Ghostbusters can never be replicated. Forgetting that The Real Ghostbusters cartoon (specifically the first two seasons) was created by an ENTIRELY different cast/crew, and despite the cartoonish moments, genuinely felt like Ghostbusters, because the showrunner and writers UNDERSTOOD the characters, tone and overall what actually worked! Paul Feig just wanted to make a funny movie with women and call it Ghostbusters. Never once while (repeat) watching the 2016 film did I get the impression he was a legit fan, as opposed to someone who just liked the IDEA of GB.

The Batman Beyond story premise? Joker and Harley have a kid (Lucy Quinzel) that gains access to Poison Ivy's toxins, Bane's Venom drug as well as Scarecrow's fear formula. A bad combination of these substances cause her to go over the edge. She works in the pharmaceutical department of Wayne Enterprises and is Lucius Fox's replacement. The drugs cause her to go mad in interim fits which is why for a time the new batman thinks he can save her. There may be a budding romance in there a well to mirror the Batman/Catwoman trope but we all know what happens when you have sex with crazy.
Marc's disdain for Snyder/DC couldn't be more apparent. I wish Kevin had the chance to geek out with someone who wasnt so dismissive. Whether you hate Snyder or like him, fleshing out that info would've been nice.
It sound like the vision for JL was epic, if only they had a director who could do more than visuals. Hopefully they can use the story boards to make a three animated movie series to get that vision.
Actually, an animated movie might also be feasible. They could definitely fork out the money for that. They DEFINITELY won't pump it out to finish the assembly cut. But an animated movie could definitely be done. The animated films of DC have an average budget of 3.5 million dollars. That's totally doable. And the studio wouldn't consider it a huge loss. If the DVD sales hit 5 million like Death of Superman did, then they'd at least make a modest 2 million profit.

I know people love Keaton but he won't be on screen much, and how great would it be to have Kevin's voice as Bruce in Terry's ear giving him instructions? For a villain I'd probably go with a Riddler copycat (or his son/grandson taking up the mantle), and basically use my pitch for a noir Batman movie set around Christmas, where Batman has to stop Riddler from disrupting the celebrations in Gotham and solve his clues to do so. So while the new Batman fights the villains, the old Batman shows us he hasn't lost his detective skills for solving weird crimes. And all this directed by Shane Black.

Glad the film finally got to be made, but what you said was the truth though. Aquaman and Avengers: Infinity War were slightly better movies. And i hated the overuse of humor in Infinity War but scale and stakes wise, it was a bigger film which had more drama and set up though. And the threat of Thanos was built up since the MCU's Phase 1. Black Panther was a great movie, but if it got to be nominated for an Oscar, then so should've Aquaman and The Incredibles 2. cos Black Panther sure isn't winning them with poor visual effects in its third act!

Black panther was just Disney's latest retelling of the story of kimba the white lion which they stole and remade into the lion king also. It's the same exact story and they also take place in Africa. Oh and they're gonna make another billion off the live action lion king that comes out.

As described that Justice League trilogy sounds great, but keep in mind Batman v Superman sounds FANTASTIC on paper. We get to see a proper, hardcore, dead-Robin Batman who is well over the edge take on Superman in the ruins of Wayne Manor. An awesome Doomsday fight where halfway through a fully battle ready Wonder Woman shows up to form the god damn Trinity. They have some balls at the end and actually kill Superman. By the end Bruce walks away with a little hope and a raised bar. It also deserves extra credit because instead of insisting that Superman was dead forever as a stunt they more or less confirmed it with the dirt on the casket. All that's awesome. What's not awesome is being like 'oh yeah, the dead Robin is Dick for no reason and this rando who gets shot in the head is Jimmy Olsen'. That's a buzzkill. While I do appreciate that someone finally called out the fact their mums had the same name but that was not the right time or place. They don't bother to actually explain that the Joker killing Robin caused Bruce to tailspin into the darkness so Batman just comes off as a psycho. Lex Luthor doesn't reveal that his obnoxious public persona is covering up the cold, calculating genius we know. Superman gets in a fist fight when he knows he's being manipulated because he can't be bothered explaining the situation to Batman. It's constantly giving either too much or too little attention. Honestly, I'm mostly just pissed we won't get a Batman movie that flips between his first year and the year leading up to Superman's fight with Zod. A storyline that intertwines his best and worst days.
Birdman WON Best Picture. Comic Book, yeah, but not Superhero. Regardless of parody, regardless of the subtext, you need the pallette and in order to commentate on the state of a certain genre, that film needs to inherit and use major Verisimilitudinous elements of the genre.
