Justice League Unlimited 1x2 Reaction (For The Man That Has Everything) 

Supermans wife in the dream is a combination of his two romantic interests throughout the years. She looks like Lana Lang his hometown sweetheart from smallville but she has the voice of lois.

This is one of my favorite episodes. Everything with Superman is very sad and touching. I feel sorry for Batman having to relive his parents' deaths as well. Wonder Woman not giving up the fight was really great too.

This is episode based on superman annual #11’s “for the man who has everything” written by Alan Moore. As far as I’m aware it is the only adaptation of one of his works he approves of and thus it’s the only adaptation he allowed to include his name in the credits. The episode changes a fair amount from the comic. For example Jason Todd’s robin is in the comic version and if I recall it’s him who gets the black mercy onto mongal. Likewise in the comic it’s batman who gives superman the flower. The biggest difference is that they remove a political storyline from superman’s dream world, in which krypton is divided into two apposing political factions that eventually riot against each other.

7:22 Now that was a subtle detail I didn’t notice the first time watching this. Because superman subconscious recognizes this version of Jorel as his father it has the voice of Jorell one minute but then it swaps to superman‘s birth father Jonathan Kent. Subtly hinting at the fact that superman is beginning to remember his real life on earth

That plant is devious, showing the heart's desire when in reality it's false😭. This villain got hands though, running the 1v1 and handling our Big 3💀. Wonder Woman was giving him a run for his money with those wrestling moves, never backing down💪😤

Fun fact Superman's dream wife Loana( Is a combination of Lois and Lana his current love and first love) which is indicated by how she had red hair(Lana Lang has red hair in the show) and purple eyes(Lois Lane has purple eyes in the show)

The reason it took Bruce to the mugging is because Bruce can’t imagine a happy life past that point

Omg this is like the episode. Even Alan moore said this adaptation was good and he doesn't like any adaptation of his stuff. I think about this ep a lot

The unseen Westchester incident from Logan

It's kinda sad to think that Superman's dream had several years of life with his wife and son, but Batman's stayed with his dad beating the mugger. Even in his greatest dreams, Bruce never could move past that night.

4:05 it’s just like the Kill Bill speech about Superman, but it shows that he is very emotional even after Mongul gave him a life he always wanted just as the Mad Hatter did for Batman but if you saw Superman 2 his parents told him that he has to live as a normal man just to be with Lois and look how that turned out.

If you looked at SEASON 2 of the original Justice League, the villain was MONGAL, from the episode "WAR WORLD". (forgive me if I spelled the name wrong).

I don't know if it's just me, but I always love to see Brainiac, in any form lol

Man, I love this episode so much. It’s so dam sad, plus pissed off superman is fun too see.

Also, this guy is that strong because he spend years training to be stronger than superman after he lost to him, this is why WonderWoman couldn't beat him.

First bit of the first season of this show the episodes are gonna be more solo and some are gonna be goofy, then in season 2 there will be a story going on through the whole series and that season does references to superman tas and a little bit to batman tas.

Whatever that thing gives me, I'll never truly be happy because happiness is something that you can't never really gain like most things. Sure things that can bring you happiness, but they can't literally give you happiness itself.

A very sad episode here. For Superman could had it all back home if it was still around, same with Batman a bit on what we seen. That Mongul is such a big jerk!

The woman is a mix of Lois and Lana

His dream wife is a combination of the two women in his life who had really had an attraction to: Lana Lang and Lois Lane. The dream life that he wants is to be a farmer, like his Earth father. He likes the simple life. Mongul is actually one of the strongest villains in the DC universe. While Wonder Woman is strong and powerful, all she could do is try and delay Mongul since he is close to Superman's power. The reason why Mongul is probably talking so much is because when he ruled Warworld, he hosted the gladiatorial games, so he had to be a bit of a showman. It's sort of similar to how wrestlers are when they are about to enter the ring. However, Mongul is also doing this as a psychological plays as well. Taunting and getting an opponent riled up can result in them making a mistake that you can exploit. With Wonder Woman, he's just playing with her since he knows that he's far stronger than her. You saying Wonder Woman was nerfed is not really true. She is a powerful heroine, but just because she is possibly the second most powerful person on Earth, doesn't mean that she can go toe to toe with beings from other planets.

The comic book story is actually much better. Especially what Superman does to Mongrel.

There is another loose adaptation of this story -- where it's Supergirl who falls victim to the Black Mercy planet instead of her cousin. ("Supergirl" -- Season 1, Episode 13, entitled "For the Girl Who Has Everything")
