Yeah, because people like you and Monster Island Buddies took this radically out of context and tried to claim this was actually cannon and applied to Monsterverse and Mainline DC Comics cannon when it doesn't. The comic radically contradicts both the Monsterverse and Mainline DC Comics, but because the visual cues are primarily from both, skin deep thinkers like ya'll blew this out of proportion than what it really is: a cheap attempt to sell tickets by causing skin deep controversy.

I think Superman can be weakened by radiation. Because there are some variants when Superman gets hit by a nuke, he gets weaker. Like skinny weak. One from the Dark Knight Return part 2 animation and Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice. Seeing Godzilla being a walking nuclear animal can be a challenge towards Superman.

I'm glad you brought up that both Superman and Godzilla have multiple incarnations with different power sets and levels of strength, etc. Most power scalers and fanboys often forget about that or just ignore it in favor of their own narratives. Happy you're much more level headed about it while also still enjoying a crossover we never thought would ever happen.

@@VunderGuy Personally, as someone who likes Superman _and_ Godzilla, I couldn't care less about what is and isn't cannon. All I wanted was a good fight, and we didn't get that. We had one all-too-brief slugfest, then Superman spent 5 of this _7 issue _*_mini series_* in a solar hospice bed. Then returns at the end in time for a rushed team-up and no round two despite issue #6 ending on a tease for round two. And that Scooby-Doo "The Dreamstone was stuck in Godzilla's foot the whole time" ending, _come on!_

Stan Lee also once said that the point of the X-Men and mutants in general is that they're just human beings like you or me at the end of the day who happen to have superpowers but are not solely defined by them nor should they be and that they should be judged based off the content of their character, but tell that to most normie X-Men fans. Also, debates have no writers in the way that comics or other narrative entertainment do, so even if that were true, it's irrelevant because we're not trying to write a story, we're trying to determine who is most likely to win based off of feats and other supporting context in the given text.

This thing contradicts the MonsterVerse in a way that not even the Monarch series does, tho. I understand Godzilla himself is no stranger to not having the clearest cannon policy even within the various eras, but come on man. This has all the validity of not being just an attempt to sell hype than what they did when they said Captain America was secretly a hydra agent this whole time, tho even less valid and more convoluted in terms of the mental gymnasitics you'd have to jump through.

Superman vs Godzilla, fun Batfamily banter, fun villains banter, Lex making a Mecha Godzilla, Bats making a Mecha Batman, Lazarus Pit Skullcrawlers with like Doomsday DNA, Grodd controlling Kong, Guy Gardner dying cause it’s funny, KONG GETTING A LANTERN RING; this crossover had so much cool stuff in it. The thing about why Superman lost intially is due to radiation. Past comics where he's been exposed to nuclear explosions have severely weakened him to where he could have died. Which does explain why the lizard who eats nukes for breakfast stood a chance against him. Also a common thing with Guy Gardener is that he's a generally hated character. So it's probably why he was killed, and why some don't see that as a problem

Superman was carrying Billy when Godzilla's breath hit him. Billy was trying to turn back into Captain Marvel at the same time and said "SHAZAM" just as Superman got hit. Superman is susceptible to magic, so the lightning hitting him caused him to weaken, that's why Goji's blast was able to do so much damage. (Sorry, old comic book nerd here, not sure if everyone caught that detail).

As a fan of both Kaiju and DC, I enjoyed this series! It was a dream come true! As fun as it was, I wish we could have seen Rodan , Mothra, and King Ghidorah in it, but being we still got to see Godzilla and other Kaiju Vs. The JL, I can't complain! This crossover has become one of my favorite things in both franchises!

7:46 The only criticism I have is the amount of times super man ends up inside the the sun is kind of redundant. It’s like “Superman has a cold….Throw him into the sun”! I understand it’s his power source, but in my opinion, they could have been a bit more creative here and especially with Monsterverse monsters. Perhaps using the energy from Mecha-Godzilla to recharge Superman, considering that I completely powered Mecha-Godzilla in KVG. Although in one version, being thrown into the sun causes super man to become deathly ill.

I have not watched the whole video at the time of this comment, but I barely know superman and a bit about Godzilla, and him clapping superman is no surprise. Superman has no resistance to Ionizing radiation, he is vulnerable to Nukes, so Godzilla really is a perfect foil to him. Now I am gonna love seeing your review.

Oh I would love to see a Godzilla crossover with Transformers, because not only would that mean Godzilla fighting heavy hitters like Grimlock, Devistator and Trypticon, but also it would likely mean a Godzilla transformers Toy. Like a Godzilla that turns into a robot or somethin. And we both know It would have to be Titan Class! (Transformers toys come in size classes that coincide with price point. Core, Deluxe, Voyager, Leader, Commander and Titan. Titan is usually like 2 to 3 feet tall)

So one thing that has been in several Superman stories is that Nuclear Radiation is something that Superman is vulnerable to... granted DC has a tendency to just ignore/downplay Superman's weaknesses to insane levels but I'm not getting into that right now.

It’s only a matter of time before we see Godzilla slaying dragons and absorbing their souls in Skyrim, embarrassing the Brotherhood of Steel in Fallout, and sitting down with a bunch of nerdy-ass voice actors playing Dungeons and Dragons in Critical Role.

There are a couple of moments that were the comics failed: 1- No explanation for the reasoning of certain Batman villain that appears to add Skull Island stuff to the story. 2- The design of Cheetah. It is Cheetah. No Tygra from Marvel. Besides, one doesn´t have to be a DC Encyclopedia to know that cheetahs don´t have stripes but dots. I wouldn´t be surprised if they´d make a sequel to this story. Not only has it happened before, as said here with the upcoming Godzilla vs Power Rangers...but it´s happened with other DC stories. Batman vs TMNT was supposed to be a one thing and I think it got 2 sequels. And DC had the event DCeased that went from 1 story to 2 more. ...as for the comparison to the Superfriends cartoon I wouldn´t be surprised, as here the Legion of Doom was featured as well.

Actually, that reminds me of this one Green Lantern comic where there’s a picture of the Sinestro Corps War and one of the Yellow Lanterns there resembles Alien Baltan from Ultraman!

6:10 fyi One of Superman's weaknesses, apart from kryptonite and the red sun, Superman also has a weakness for nuclear weapons, which is shown in the film The Dark Knight Returns where there is a scene where Superman must Stop a nuclear bomb from exploding in Gotham and when the bomb explode Superman got really weak after that situation And forced to absorb solar energy in plants to recharge his energy and Godzilla atomic breath Contain alot of radiation

Superman being weak to nukes is stupid, and only happened in The Dark Knight Returns because _wow_ Frank Miller just hates, _hates_ Superman. I mean he _really f*cking hates_ Superman.

It is an alternate timeline so i can accept this. Godzilla has always been overpowered in crossovers so a version of him defeating a version of superman is fine

You know, while I'm glad all of these cool dream crossovers have officially become reality in the last decade... am I the only who feels that them being exclusively comicbooks kinda cheapens the hype? I mean, I get it, making a comicbook is easier and less complicated (especially financially) than making a movie or even a videogame and just getting the rights is already an accomplishment... but I dunno there's just something a bit underwhelming about hearing that a long-awaited crossover you've been dreaming of since you were a kid is FINALLY being made! ...as a comicbook that only people within online fandoms would be aware of. It why Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles getting an animated adaptation was such a pleasant surprise.

Transformers x Power Rangers, Maybe the Matrix or the Allspark brings the Megazord to life. The individual Zords could get their own robot modes like a combiner. It also would be neat to see the Megazord fight a Deceptacon combiner like Devastator.

I mean when you think about it it makes sense. Superman absorbs radiation at a very accelerated rate, it's why solar radiation effects him so quickly, also why kryptonite effects him in seconds where it takes years for it to give Lex cancer, and I know at least once nuclear weapons have had a serious effect on him. It's not that godzilla is 'stronger' than superman, just that he is borderline spitting anti-superman breath lol

My guess as to why Guy Gardner gets punked is because the writers just hate Guy Gardner. He's widely considered to be the worst human Green Lantern, being a melodramatic twerp with a messiah complex. Plus he's often needlessly confrontational with his own team and committed SA against Miss Marvel (underage) and thought about it with Power Girl (unconscious).
