As a “POP” album, this is one of the best in a long time

I feel like he’s gonna make an acoustic version of the whole album

2013 Justin made an R&B album called Journals. I don’t know if you have reacted to it, you should tho. His label didn’t want him to release it, but he wanted to and therefore his label didn’t promo it at all. So it’s really underrated and 100% R&B. Then he did Purpose, the pop album, and it was a huge success as we all know. After his break focusing on his health, relationships etc he then released Changes last year that was another R&B album because he wanted to evolve as an artist and follow in the footsteps of the roles models he had when he was little. Changes did okay on the charts and a few of the songs were successful, but not as many as I think they thought would be, since the previous album Purpose was HUGE. I think people expected Changes to be the same and since he had a long break in between people probably expected amazing POP songs in the same level as Purpose. And when it wasn’t, I guess people were disappointed. Not seeing the development Justin had made as a person, they only saw how he now made “R&B” songs. Now with Justice he wanted to make an album recognizing BLM, injustices in the world, mental health and loss of someone you love. Therefore if you like R&B music more then Changes and Journals is for you. Compared to pop music with Purpose and now Justice. The intentions of Justice was to spread light and to make people feel like they are not alone with their struggles. Which I personally think he accomplished with Justice. I love that Justin now is making music that he loves and stands for compared to when he started out and just did the song that were thrown at him. Now he’s the bigger part of the process. And I’m really excited to see what the future holds for him and his music development. But yeah, I hope that you still can enjoy some of the song on Justice, and if you want more R&B music from Justin you should really check out the album “Journals” from 2013. You’ll find some great tunes there!! Keep up the good work boys!! ✨

I definitely think everyone prefers Justin making R&B music, but after his last album, I think he wanted to go back to what was before: pop. This is an all the way through pop album and I personally liked it. I think it'll be a grower for some, but this is simply a pop album. I enjoyed the reaction! :)

It's really hard for Justin to do one element of music bc so many ppl that love him love different versions of Justin... That's why the album direction is kind of everywhere, he really tried to make EVERYONE happy 😭 Scooter called it "world time pop" or something like that anyways, there's peaches for JB's R&B fans, acoustics with lonely and off my face, then a bit of island/afro-fusion with burna boy and beam, then of course the pop section for his main demographic. He tried to go more R&B with changes but it didn't do well and his label does not want R&B from him so.......This what happen when you excel in every genre you tap into 😭😭

When it comes to Justice I think he was trying to make it poppy due to his fans not liking Changes, but Justin does love rnb so he wanted to insert it into the album because his fans like some kind of rnb also, but mostly pop. The lyrics throughout the album is amazing and when Justin performs certain songs you can tell he is FEELING it and way happier and healthier than his last era. I’m a huge fan ever since i was like 13 so for me overall I love the album and this is way better than Changes and with just Peaches alone I will definitely say he is back. Also just to throw it out there MLK daughter let him sample his speech and although it may be a little odd it does go with the tittle of the album and Justin is very transparent and I believe has done some real growth and change. Love the album, and love the honest review guys!

I loved every song from his album Changes. Been a supporter since the beginning. Have enjoyed seeing him grow and hearing his transformations in his songs.

He performed peaches by himself a few days ago. Id love if you reacted to that. It is so good live. I wasn’t feeling the studio version probably because I heard the live version first. Definitely check it out. Also a lot of these songs grow on you. My first listen I really didn’t like the album. The more I listen I like it. As I am had so much potential but it felt so up and down and it think it could have been produced better. Overall it’s better than changes. I like the vibe. His music isn’t what it used to be but he’s getting older and trying to find his lane and I’m enjoying watching it.

For whatever reason I feel like justins label doesn’t like him doing rnb. They didn’t push journals and changes was rnb-pop. I feel like he wants to do a pure rnb album only but they’re stopping him. Which is weird cuz you’d think by now he has the power to make what he wants

I love this album because you can actually feel he wanted to put in the album he had that energy that happy energy. He’s had a journey of hell and back and I really think this album helped him go through some things!

I was expecting the music to hit me in the right places too but some of the songs didn’t click for me in ways that I hoped. although I liked others more. I feel like he’s coming back to where he’s supposed to be musically but just isn’t there yet. He definitely has the potential tho even

I personally feel like this is his best album in a while it’s a solid project. Peaches is definitely my favorite song. As a Pop fan, I couldn’t be happier with this album. although I do agree you on the cohesiveness of the album. I do feel like he will eventually go to that R&B acoustic but I believe with the last roll out, he was a bit discourage so he just wanted to center himself back to his musical foundation if that makes sense. But I’m honestly love this album and excited for Justin. thanks for the review. can’t wait to see what you guys do next💚

Ty for recognizing the lyrics! Some are really profound, eloquent and honest. I personally LOVE the transition in "as i am" and the song is one of my favorites. It's really uplifting. I feel the same about "hold on" but it's not getting as much love as i think it should...

As a fan, I love the album and these vibes on him. It's really good. But it should've been named differently and the MLK interlude doesn't make sense there... The whole album is about romantic love songs so the message kinda fades away... It would have been better on an EP with songs ACTUALLY about justice, race and civil rights, not here. Good intentions but like... ?????? Confusing! The rest awesome... The production is SO so so fucking good. (YOU GUYS SHOULD REACT TO JOURNALS!!!!)

What i love about him is he gonna experiment w so many different genres and type of music. And this one was like influenced by pop, soft rock, electric pop 80s vibes and some afrobeat. What i missed its his RnB tracks, peaches was kinda that vibe but that’s it. And I think we see it like a love album dedicated to his wife, but if u put attention it’s more like about his struggles and how miserable he was and him fighting. The MLK interlude I think it match cuz MLK was talking about losing, struggling and fighting, etc for your people, for the ones you love and the last part he says that you die when u find what u been looking for and suddenly the track die for you comes, and btw her daughter approved it and applauded Justin. He will be donating the benefits he gets from the album to charities and organizations and one of them is MLK daughter organization. Loved y’all reaction, it seemed honest.

Also, regarding the MLK situation: JB posted on Twitter previous to the album release, that the word "justice" means to make right, to make good what's been made bad.. and, in a world full of injustice and chaos, the music is what he can offer as a reprieve from it all basically. He also got permission from, and the blessing of, MLK's own *daughter* before using the MLK audio. I'm confused as to why some folks are upset about it... MLK's whole message was equality, and peace and harmony among all races. 💚 Edit: He's also donating to the MLK foundation and other charities. He's done that for years without publicizing it.
