This is exactly what got him removed from Chicago. The dude can throw a brilliant deep ball, and will have your heart palpatating, just to lose a fumble 6 or toss the ugliest interception you've seen in 10 years, probably in Q4. I hope he figures it out. His problem is and always has been between the ears (not stupid, just gets in his own head I think)

This was exactly what they brought back "he can't read defenses " to excuse when they knew that it was a coaching call to order him to not throw to receivers. When they phrased it in a way that put all blame for this on Fields, there were no excuses. He can't win. I think Eberflus has some deal with a demon because Bears fans to a one say ":Fields sucked & it wasn't the play-calling. We're also glad Getsy's gone because He Sucked." At making waffles? Oh, at the play-calling that wasn't at fault? He already proved that only the play-calling was holding him back when they changed that up in weeks 8-10 of '22. This will continue. He seems to attract blame.

3 routes straight into a waiting quarters deep coverage. The only play was to the TE leaking out to the left or the RB leaking to the right. He took what was there and avoiding a bad decision/turnover.

Heard these same things when he was with Chicago. Its the line, its the OC, its the receivers. Love the kid and I hope he balls out for the Steelers but if the same problems continue (bad drop backs, late throws) beyond preseason it might be time to stop pointing the finger at everyone but.

Tomlin should go before Arthur Smith. Tired of players and coordinators in Pittsburgh get thrown under the bus but the ringleader Tomlin is left unscathed. Losing playoff record with Ben R. and not didn't win a playoff game since the Obama admin.

@@EdmacZ Without Tomlin, you have no players. The players that come to Pittsburgh don't actually want to play for the Steelers. They want to play for Mike Tomlin, and you would know that if you watched any of their interviews. Once he is gone, we will become the Patriots. Players will no longer want to come to Pittsburgh, leaving us to be able to only acquire high quality talent through the draft and that's it.

Life long Chicago bears fan here. I’m sorry to say Justin Fields is just a solid back up. Fields cannot read defenses. And he is terrible against zone defenses. He holds on to the ball to long and his accuracy is inconsistent. But he’s a great running back. I loved fields when the bears drafted him, but unfortunately he is not a starter. You guys in Pittsburgh will eventually find out, sorry to say

They're using what the historical data on Justin has stated his entire professional career that he did here yet again. This is not day 1 on the job. He should've been learned and grew from these things with all the years of experience in the league under his belt.

@ChaseDanielShow I agree, and that is a shared issue with Fields and the center but if you noticed on his last drive when they put in Zach Frazier at center, it went smooth AF from then on out. Herbig is solid, but he is a guard he has been in the league for 6 years, and NO TEAM HAS EVER MADE HIM THE STARTING CENTER or even considered it PROBABLY FOR A REASON!!

6-7 and can’t read a defense

Believe it or not, Houston actually had a pretty good defense last year and they improved it by bringing in Danielle Hunter. They also played most, if not all, of their starters. I agree, Fields has a long way to go before being proficient at reading a defense/progressing through reads and navigating the pocket. But I've also noticed improvement every year. Fields has also only been in the league for *three years*, this being his fourth. Caleb also looked good, but he still had some struggles that rookies do in preseason. Still looks very promising and is likely an upgrade.
