The guy failed on the first 2 attempts for the backflip at the end of the fight. Pushed the guy walking in the octagon to dry his hands off and went for it again. Nailed it. This pretty much sums up Gaethje as a person. If he's able to walk, he's going for it.

I used to big flips off of sea walls at the beach. After about 500 or so I finallover rotated a front flip and broke my big toe lol . That's why back flips are so much easier . U land on your heels & not your big toe

8:46 really feels like a big momentum shift. Michael hits Justin with some really big shots, but Justin just instantly starts walking him down again. As Michael takes a deep breath and retreats back toward the cage again, I almost sense a feeling of dread from Michael, like "I've hit this guy with everything I've got, how is he still coming?". Then it turns out to be the beginning of the end for Michael. This fight never gets old, all-time classic.

This is exactly why Justin Gaethje will be mentioned along with the most exciting fighters in history and his legacy would be mythical had something happened to end his career early or something else similarly tragic. As it is, we have several of the most thoroughly thrilling fights in MMA history because of this man. Both of his fights with Palomino, plus fights with Firmino, MJ, Barboza, Eddie, Dustin, Tony, and Chandler are ALL among my favorite fights ever. 🐐 OF VIOLENCE

Sadly gaethje doesn't get the respect and credit he deserves. His ability to take a million powerful punches and stand still and end MJ like that with few punches and knees is insane man wow. Every fight he's in is amazing.

Amazing fight! I have much respect and love for them both. Once I heard from a professional boxer you gotta respect every man that steps into a cage, since they are risking their life to give a show. That's entirely true. ❤❤
