They're not 100% slip proof. I've definitely wiped out when wearing hybrid soles haha but they do help for sure

JC, another quality review! I like the idea of that hybrid outsole. The double stich always dresses up a boot and ads a quality look. Decent for the price and the thick cushion insole is a plus, They actually look better on. Keep 'em coming!

I have a pair of Full Quill Ostrich George Strait signature boots made by Tony Lama in the 80’s and they are beautiful. I haven’t worn them out because they are in such good condition for their age and I don’t want to put a bunch of wear on them lol

JC, have a look at the "Pearsall", recently acquired a pair of these, and they have the hybrid outsole on them. A nice round toe to boot- no pun intended. Very comfortable for a wearer that wants a round toe vs a square toe. Wearing them for awhile, kind of like 'em. See if Justin will let you review them. I think you will like them. Take care...

Thanks man! I feel the same way. Nice that they are offering a hybrid outsole under 200. HorsePower is another brand that might have some hybrids under 200 but both cut some corners elsewhere to make their boots so cheap. They'll be good for someone!

Back at Al's you know it is going to be good. Like previous boots you have done quick impressions of I like the ideal of a hybrid sole, though I like stacked leather in heals compared to bonded leather. I am also personally not a huge fan of the white stitching and natural leather with black boots.

That would make the boots more expensive and I don't think he wanted to alienate any of his audience. It's actually pretty cool that he thought of that and still made good boot for under $200. I respect that!

@@JeremiahCraig that's true, I dont necessarily think it being made in mexico makes the boot bad, I just prefer my boots to be made in the USA. Although if they had this boot in b widths I probably would consider it.

No doubt. Leather soles are meant to be a bit more slippy but I've slipped with hybrid soles on grass too so it can help give you some extra grip but it's not slip proof at all haha

Al's Bootery doesn't out front and they are on a one way street if I remember correctly but some of the other stores we visited on this trip have some good parking nearby. Both the Vickers Western Stores in Pocatello and Twin Falls are next to big department stores with big parking lots

I was recommended Honcho boots, I believe they’re related to Hondo right? Have you heard/tried them ever?

I have! A person who used to work at Hondo started Honcho and they make many of the same styles Hondo does still today. They are a traditionally made boot like Hondo is except they are made in the US instead. Pretty much the same quality too

Another ripped-off design from Anderson Bean with their "hybrid" sole. I grew up wearing Justin but their quality has suffered in the past 20 years. IMO they have not been the same since the sale to Warren Buffet back in 2000. My childhood and most of my time riding bulls were in Justin Boots through the early to mid-'90s. I still own and wear some Justin's but just not the same to me anymore.
