Having lived fifteen minutes or so away from Tybee Island, so I totally did a doubletake when I saw the arrow. XD it's okay though! Happens to the best of us
@Justin Adamson That's actually so much funnier though. I just took it as fact because I am geographically stunted. I would never have known. What a beautiful accidental troll. Fantastic.
since there's someone here who lived near Tybee Island i will say i have lived in myrtle Beach. now both places are represented here. Myrtle Beach sucks.
Ah, the origin story of Island Boy. Tragically struck down by a brutal case of The Mondays, only to rise again, stronger, faster, less fashionable. A modern mythical hero. Another great animation!
I think as long as his memory brought positive feelings/memories, he'd be okay. He was on island time constantly I don't think he would sweat something like that
If anything, I think it's beautiful. There is no way Justin didn't cause a surge of Jimmy Buffet popularity, I heard of Jimmy buffet casually through my life, even ate at a Cheeseburger in Paradise after threatre class bake in 2005 lol. But never actually sat down and listened...but then I did. and I got it. A few days before he passed, my fiance and I drove almost 2 hours to the beach and sung Jimmy buffet the whole way. He left an impact.
I legitimately believe this audio clip going viral caused Jimmy Buffet to become their fan. People probably sent it to him and he ended up checking out the podcast.
It's to Myrtle Beach, SC lol. It's funny because that is where a lot out of staters go to beach. I personally stay away. I went once in high school with a friend and that was enough for me.
As someone who used to live close enough to Tybee Island that it was basically my entire concept of "the beach" for most of my life, it blows me away that anyone outside of Very Eastern Georgia would willingly choose to vacation there. It's a pretty low tier beach.
i think about this bit more than i think about my parents, probably--his one and the one about asking a question without using a question mark. also this animation is impressive as hell!!!
ive been to tybee island in 5th grade on a field trip. it wasnt great. pretty much all i remember is hunting fir crabs in a mud flat, they took us to the beach and made us lay on the sand and i had sand in my hair for fucking months. no matter how much i washed my hair i could NOT get rid of it
There's an E3 Giant Bombcast where they had the McElroys on as guests, and Ryan Davis calls out Justin's "old man ass tastes" for his choices in Spotify. That was more than ten years ago, you can only IMAGINE how much more advanced Justin's old-man ass tastes have become. He must exclusively listen to Mozart and Bach now.
DON'T LISTEN TO 'EM JUICE! There's nothing wrong with a little island time! I too like daydreaming I'm on a warm beach, sipping margaritas, while listening to Jimmy AND your dad's fav: Kenny Chesney! 🍹
