That's about the coolest thing I've read today. Just recently discovered him, though I've known of Steve Earle for a while, and it makes me sad that he's already gone. He seems like a good soul. What kinda whiskey did he drink?

I know what you mean. But, really when you think about it we aren’t missing a thing :). It’s still nothing more and nothing less than little bite-sized pieces of himself accompanied by music. He was such an intimately charged artist that his music truly has a way of making the listener feel truly special and at times even privileged. RIP traveler

Theres alot of us who feel that way. Some people only get famous after they are gone and it's a shame. He deserved to have known how much he impacted people

@@oppothumbs1 if I’m not mistaken they had a bad relationship for a long time, it eventually rekindled it. I think I saw an interview about it a while back. But I can’t be certain.

i know. he was my friend. he was so friggin' happy. its ok. watching bc i miss him. so much fun. he is 100% w cams, naw real justin obviously so good at stuff. last time we chilled he was hugging me and jumping up n down w happiness. sorta my lil bro. he was happy, dont want this rumor of torture to go on. so dramatic. he had real friends. wasnt in a hole of lonliness or despair. justin is super smart too. his heart was hurt but he was really ok. just super smart dude and gifted and trying ya know. he was trippin happy his wife his baby. he was ok.

Get on Spotify boss, search for his artist page on there then it has a tab called "Fans Also Like" which will give you a bunch of similar artists. There's also a "Radio" feature that will play his songs mixed with other similar artists automatically. Loads of good music waiting to be found, you just gotta take the time to look.

He's definitely flustered here..I guess like he said he was flying back out that night so it was probably an early flight there that morning, straight off the plane..guitar in hand..go play. And it's not like he did anything wrong here he started getting into it more as he went on but when he was fully on?, that man with his string-box was a force of nature often imitated, and imo never bettered. He made those six strings ring six ways from Sunday. Pure passion. R.I.P JTE.

Yuma is one of my favorites but it was also at the very beginning. Following his namesake all his albums are over produced.

Nashville doesn't suck. Yeah there's music row and a bunch of bullshit country gimmicky stuff. But the heart of Nashville is alive and kicking in people like JTE, Steve Earle, Robert Ellis, Joshua Hedley, Nikki Lane, Lilly Hiatt, Kelsey Walden, Cale Tyson, Jack White, Lillie Mae Risch, Margo Price, Langhorne Slim, Old Crow Medicine Show, JP Harris, Erin Rae Mckaskle and the list goes on forever but you get my point. Go to Roberts Western World or any small music club in Nashville on any given night and you'll be blessed with beautiful music. Just ignore the fake bullshit and enjoy the real stuff

BanjoBandit I think you're assuming I've never been to Nashville, don't have a have a comprehensive awareness of the city, and that I'm anti-Nashville, which would be an inaccurate assumption. I worked and lived in Nashville from 1972-1985 as a songwriter-lyricist for some major recording companies I won't name for legal purposes. I am very aware of the form and function of the music industry. Some of the artists you have named are among the best songwriters of all time, who for the most part worked independently of the corporate structure. Nashville is not entirely different than New York or Los Angeles in its approach to a formulaic approach to music, in that there are certain rigid protocols deemed necessary by the CW music establishment which has become jaded over the past five decades. Keep in mind that many of the legends of music were long in being recognized, slow in development and creatively thwarted by the estate of Music City. I'm no trying to argue, there's no merit in that, but whenever someone expresses an opinion about a specific issue which doesn't coincide with your opinion or vision, as in this instance, there maybe far more behind their words than simple disagreement.
