Steve approaching his son like a true peer is just heartwarming to see. These men had unfiltered and vulnerable views into each others' existences and many falling outs but you can feel the genuine pride Steve had in him. I miss Justin every day. There's not another artist like him.

God be with you Steve Earle especially in August .I just discovered Justin's music and yours too I listen to it a lot .I too lost a daughter 10 years ago to an addiction .It the most heart broken thing you will ever go through in life .God be with you and give you peace .Keep busy .I enjoy your music .God bless Ingrid .

My dad had Bob Dylan records if I remember correctly, but regardless I probably didn’t really get interested in Dylan or John Cash for that matter until I heard Nick Cave cover “Wanted Man”, so I understand completely. Nick Cave also covered Leonard Cohen and loved John Lee Hooker and that further fueled my interest in those artists. Never underestimate what a cover can do to help uncover the greatness behind your influences.

To think your talking to your son, a daughter, mother, dad, friend or whomever & not knowing that only in few days few months or just few years that you will never talk to or see them again, the tomorrows let alone the next few moments in life are uncertain for everyone of what can happen to a loved one, life is as a vapor here today & gone tomorrow, but whats even of most importance is that people acccept Jesus Christ in their lives that we know that when we pass from this earth will will have eternity with him & our loved ones☝🙏

I've heard both of them tell this story numerous times and I'm always left thinking...who actually thought that was a Nirvana song? On the unplugged album Kurt intros the song as being written by Lead Belly and even tells a story about wanting to buy his guitar. Lol.
