*Edit 4/30/23 - Thank you for the feedback regarding ads / timing on this video. Rather than delete and or change the video, I will improve upon this for future videos. Regarding any negative comments, I will avoid responding to these moving forward but of course everyone is entitled to their opinion. This man knows whats important, aluminium is a much better frame material option for amateur crit racers than carbon. You are going to come off the bike at some point and no company is giving you a free frameset for Saturday's race.

@@brettbaker3991 he can, he could be on the Tarmac SL7 all day. But the recyclability of the Sprint and CAAD framsets is a good reason to shift. Personally I prefer a non carbon bike for crits and enduro mtb riding where the weight penalty isn't going to come in to play the same as on an alpine climb.

I mean, they train on those bikes too so it makes sense. It’s not like they have the budget of a world tour team to just have specific race bikes and mechanics available 24/7 to change the drivetrains, you know.

I reckon it's a timing pod, most races use something like this. In the events I've been in (none of which were races, but timed events), the most my bike ever had was a disposable RFID tag.

I understand the narrow bars for 'aero' benefits, however, I don't like how it changes the bike handling as well as 'out of the saddle' efforts when putting power down on the pedals. Regarding the shifters being faced inwards, it's definitely 'different' for sure... I have some friends (all younger) that do it.

@@dib_sports it may have its benefits. Marginal gains. I wouldn't see myself going lower than a 40cm width bar.
