I just got one of these, using the speakers with some EQ on the computer and the midrange is quite good, some kind of special quality. Treble spikes up at the very top. Bass is as you’d expect from a 3” driver.
I have a full set of a JVC EX-A1 system. They are insanely hard to get, but I managed to get the amp and the speakers separately from different websites haha. they sound incredible, I actually have it going with my logitech z2300 subwoofer hooked up, and wow that logitech subwoofer has so much potential but those lame stock speakers that go with it are god awful lmao. I also have their bigger mini system models like the Z3 and GT90, which are built not as well as these wood cone speakers but they still sound amazing, especially compared to other things at the time. I wish they still made stuff like this but they just dont. rip.
i got me a jvc fs-sd7i *blue led light*, i believe those full range drivers, to be the best small audio drivers i ever heard, for their size they are simply miracle workers, they r like dwarf war masters of the speaker world... wanna build a 6 driver 2.2chan(L+R+ subL+subR) system, using 3 of those jvc drivers in each maple box, in a triangular way and 2x 8" long throw 300rms subwoofers, one sub to left chan, one to right(separated and amped by a nakamichi pro receiver, and a nashville pre-amp/32 band 4 channel equalizer). i wonder how much hifi on the budget would it be...
They looked great never had one but wanted one and JVC micro systems were good sounding for the size loved the wood cone ones Panasonic did just 1 nice micro systems that I liked great video
I have one of these systems. I got it as a Christmas present somewhere around 2003 or so (as a closeout item) I think. Actually I have the FS-SD990 which looks like the only difference is that that speaker cabinets are slightly taller but narrower. Other than than that I can't see a lot of difference between the SD9 and the SD990. I use it for computer speakers, but I have been impressed with how good it sounds. I agree with you I wish the companies would make more nice executive looking systems like these, as opposed to those terrible plastic flashing LED gaudy things you see on the shelves today. BTW you can see an FS-SD5 version of this system get a very loving beauty shot in the movie iRobot. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QmQiXt5Uwl4.html
What’s the difference between the square speakers d5 vs the d7 or d9 found speakers. Do they sound the same? A friend of mine in Hollywood got one from her dad around 2000-01. And it cost over 1500 if I remember
I have the lower similar model, the ~SD8, but the CD spindle motor has a bad or worn bearing. Usually the laser goes first on disc players, not the motor......But the unit plays if I prop it up on angle. The FM tuner is mediocre, but I mainly use it for the AUX input for an old tape player.
Hi , thanks for sharing. Do you know if it is possible to connect a tv to this system and have the sound come through the speakers? Thanks once again for your time, regards, Lee.
Thank you for your review. I've been looking for a CD player for a component system I'm trying to build that has a clear view window that lets you watch the CD. I always wondered why manufacturer is never made more of these since CDs usually have art on them and are colorful unlike most LPS that only had art on the small circular Center. You state that it has digital outputs. Is this a coaxial output or an optical digital? Also does it have analog composite outputs? I'm trying to use this as a CD component in a HiFi system.
Dude , organize yourself !!!. What kind of info you bring in this video. At least do you know, how to program radio stations? . That's what people are looking for , not bs about speakers
Seriously, the sound of the system is not good at all. Even an Alexa Echo has a better sound edit: Ok, if you correct hard on treble (to the max) and a bit on bass, it sounds much better. Mids are actually good. But there are better systems.
