That’s so cool you got these Sony’s brand new you don’t have to worry about any issues with them either. I just got a canon zr40 that look almost new just waiting on a charger to arrive so I can test it out

Yeah so I would say almost all vhs-c cameras use the same battery. I should have a link in the description for a battery that is compatible with this. I always recommend getting a new battery because the original ones that you’ll get with these are completely dead since they’re 20-30 years old and haven’t taken a charge in years. There are a lot of different converters/recorders out there. Some are portable and some hook to your computer with usb. Portable ones can be a bit pricey but they all work pretty much the same. I’ll leave some links to some I recommend. You might have to look through the menu. And does it only have a black and white viewfinder? Or does it have a screen you can see that it is only in black and white?

Ok so the viewfinder is most like only black and white. The footage should still be in color. A lot of the older vhs-c camcorders that were the cheap models had only black and whit viewfinders. If you have a way to digitize the footage or see it on your tv you should see your footage in color

That’s really weird I’ve been getting a lot of comments from people with the same issue from different cameras. I even have a Sony trv model that does the same thing🤔

Ok So 1. Makes sure the switch by the record button isn’t in lock mode. 2. If there’s a reset button make sure you push the reset button and if not you can pull the battery out and put it in record mode and see if it does a hard reset that way.

Well if your battery is as old as the camera is then I recommend getting another one most batteries don’t last 30 years so your new one should last quite a while

What I would do is search ebay for this camera model and see what other people are selling them for. But if it’s just the camera I would say like $30. But if it has a lot of original accessories you might be able to get $60-$70 out of it
