This series of JVC tables are awesomely underrated and they still go for decent money. DD semi auto with pitch and or Qlock. These sell like hot cakes for me finished for $175 CAD all day and go quickly. How can you not love Q lock? 33.33 is a good time. Sleek almost modern design. Simple under the hood. Look how easy it was to service. Metal base. Great value. I would easily use one myself. As you pointed out, the foam block and the first capacitor (473) on the power board sometimes fail and the unit will not shut off. Once replaced it is fine. Nice quick tune up broseph!
Nice video! I have a JVC LA-55... she is with me since 1990 and still rocks. Just the auto return sometimes gets short, but is a known trouble of these babies. Never cleaned nor lubricated the motor, but you inspired me. Thanks for that!
Thank you "Turntable Guy". I have this exact T.T. which I purchased new in 81 or 82. It's been sitting for many years and if memory serves it did have a issue with the tone arm return when I shelved it. I'm going to dig it out sometime this week and have a go at it. Great video and much apreciated!
Thx for the video. I am hoping you get in a JVC QL-7 and can do a service video on it. Maybe the innards are similar to the TT in this video. I found a QL-7 at thrift and am in the process of building a custom plinth for it as the factory plinth was pretty rough.
Hello Sir how are you? Great video by the way. If I may ask, would you advise sending off a JVC QL-F61? It's working fine.......just needs a through lubrication and cleaning I think. Never took it apart or tampered with it. Any suggestions etc......would be greatly appreciated.
JVC's P mount decks seem to be the rare few which had antiskating adjustment dials. Yeah, I know P mount was supposed to be standardized to play at 1.25g and many decks just adjusted that at the factory but over the years I've found the spring to become stiffer and apply too much. Having that adjustment is certainly nice.
Hi! I am also a owner of a Ql-A51. I have this problem that you can play a song by tapping the metal body, like when you put your fingers on the metal it passes to the speakers (i don't know if it's noticeable in the video) Also when you turn the volume up, the static is very loud so it's impossible to listen to any record!! Obviously it's a problem of static but how can I fix it? Should I take a look to the internal cables? I already tested it with different amps, the cartridge and stylus are new, the ground cable is connected! Appreciate your help
