Showed everything but the procedure on how to read the platter speed while tweaking the adjustments, handy info for the myriad of people who have never done it before

This turntable looks really attractive! Yeah not high-end but mostly metal right? And the specs/measurements are almost as good as SL-1200mk2. Difference is you can get this on the cheap. I saw one of these being sold at a local (I'm Swedish) for approx. $30. A SL-1200MK2 in good condition (not DJ:ed) is like $700-800 these days, atleast over here it is. If I run across one of these I'm getting it.

I had the JVC QL-A2 Quartz Locked Direct Drive Turntable 44 years ago. It produced a decent sound. Construction is lightweight and the plinth is almost entirely plastic. The plinth is VERY "microphonic" and, if used in a room with a wooden floor, ideally requires a solid wall mounted shelf for acoustic and mechanical isolation.

I got scammed by a Ebay dealer who claimed he had a black version of this. Though I didn't have any problems with the turntable as for the front aluminium panel was missing.

Hi, I need to adjust the 45 on the one i just purchased. Since the adjustment is inside (rather than at the bottom of the turntable)...do I have to screw/unscrew the bottom of the turntable as I make adjustments? Or is it safe to leave the bottom while making adjustments? Thank you

@TheKillogicEffect 11 месяцев назад
If you are able to adjust the speed without taking the bottom off then it shouldnt hurt but I couldnt get to it any other way. Its a big downside of this model, these adjustments should be on the front of the turntable imo

Did you think its necessary to replace a control part its not playing right? Or just clean ? And slightly nudge the pots for speed?
@TheKillogicEffect
@TheKillogicEffect Год назад
I wouldnt replace anything unless it needed to be. A lot of times these older tables just need a good cleaning a slight adjustment. The pitch and speed adjustment being on the inside is a real pain though it makes you have to do a back and forth sometimes

I have the same problem. Do you know for a speed little to fast if i have to turn clockwise or conterclockwise ? Thank you
@TheKillogicEffect
@TheKillogicEffect 2 года назад
If im remembering correctly clockwise is faster and counterclockwise is slower
@fantinder8650

@@TheKillogicEffect Thank you. In fact i have to buy a connect cleaner because the speed change a little even after the correction.
@fantinder8650
@fantinder8650 2 года назад
Unfortunately I was not able to completely solve the problem. thanks to you I can change the speed but when I turn off the turntable and I let time pass there is again a desynchronization. So I have to adjust again. When it's correct speed i can listen vinyls all day without problems. Problems are when i turn off the system and wait hours.
@fantinder8650
@fantinder8650 2 года назад
And there is a little noise (from motor) when there is desynchronisation. It's no regular but it's lagging . Maybe i have to change tne motor or the motherboard.
@TheKillogicEffect
@TheKillogicEffect 2 года назад
@@fantinder8650 it seems like the pitch adjustment gets loose or something or something else is going on that I dont understand. One thing i have noticed about these tables is they are very finicky it seems....

mine just doesnt spin anymore. It spun once but stopped halfway through... any fixes?
@TheKillogicEffect
@TheKillogicEffect 2 года назад
I would run through the circuitry make sure all fuses or anything like that are normal or there isnt any blown looking spots and see if it has a smell of any kind sometimes the smell can help direct you to where the problem is. Take the platter off and see if it spins at all inside or see if its stuck or making any sort of sound... Good Luck I hope you get it figured out
@seravenerdi

so why not get a matching pot and run a lead so it's accessible without cracking it open ? The other thing you should have done was adjust the pressure plate so the arm drops slower.
@TheKillogicEffect
@TheKillogicEffect 3 года назад
Im sure you could do all that but this is just showing where it is and how to adjust it , as far as the arm drop on this table its perfect but that is a good suggestion
