I am a student of Ramon Dekkers and a can tell you he is the strongest and the best a ever say straight forward to the opponent till he breaks them down to a k.o. . He died of heart attack under the bridge in Breda and with his head on the curb . The place where he died has now a picture of the great master . I'm Scottish and absolutely worship Ramon. Amazing to watch amazing human being what's not to like... I spoke to a few dutch guys in Glasgow one from breda an they didn't know who Ramon was ... so very sad such a great man should slip by without the country he loved recognition... RIP diamond.

Dekkers was a 8 X world champ in 5 weight classes i990s , is fight record 225 fights- 185 wins - 35 losts - 5 draws and 95 KOs he was only 5.7 in high , only no Thai to win fight of the year by Thailand , and he got OMB of King of Thailand

You forgot to mention, many of his losses where controversial. Because in Thailand you had to win from a Thai by knock out, otherwise they (judges) would not let you win by points. Hey fought so many times 2 or 3 times a week. That's real sick bro. And he never got knocked out. Knocked down, yes, but never eyes closed, he allways stood up.

Dekker's hands were a different weapon - the Thai's of old did not generally use the hands like western boxers. Dekker's woke them up to this...or rather sometimes put them to sleep. He was awesome with a capital 'A'.

@@kabukicho3009 yeah exactly... Thai were already using their hands way before Dekkers. Samart.. world boxing champion... Somrak... WBC and olympic champion... Wangchannoi... who knocked out Namkabuan 30 secs after the start of the fight.. Coban also... Annnnd sooooo maaany more... Also he wasnt the first one to cut a Thai xD but the most famous one for sure, and probably one of the 3 best MT farang fighters ever.

...soz forgot to add - Ramon Dekkers fought Thai, but mostly called his style Kick boxing in the early years. He fought them his own style, his own way, you only have to watch him to see this. RIP - A true legend.

Parr is confusing Dekker's injuries and especially his right ankle with an infection he got because of his injuries. And yes, they did at some point wanted to amputate his leg. After that Ramon had to completely change his way of fighting, using his right leg to a minimum.

Im a proud Dutchman. Ramon being my favorite. But to be fair, someone needs to be mentioned here that i never see being mentioned and Rogan never talks about. Someone who also defeated Ramon Dekkers (and everyone else). It's Dany Bill from Cameroon. IF you never heard of this guy, you need to see him fight. Wish Rogan would have mentioned him at some point. But i think he never did.
