Ramon 'The Diamond' Dekkers is widely regarded as the greatest Kickboxer of all time, something which I also firmly believe. This documentary video was not something I actually set out intentionally to create. Most of the interview footage was taken whilst I was out in Holland filming for a Documentary on Dutch Kickboxing, the rest was just taken as I was enthralled at the conversations and the experience of being around two of the people who knew Ramon best. Please therefore forgive any shaky camera and crackly audio work at times, some of the shots were literally unexpected and initially taken out of a passionate interest in finding out more as opposed to being something planned for.
I got back to the UK and just felt I had to do something with this footage. Ramon's story deserves a much more in-depth documentary covering his life than this but as a fellow fan I wanted to put up what I had so people could watch. This video is dedicated in his memory and was done for his children and family. Huge thanks go to Nick and Cor Hemmers for sharing their time with me and to all at Vos who welcomed me into their amazing Gym!
