I hate to see these precious Itzy Members cry like this but staying devoted and taking criticism is what has shaped them into the talented group they’re today, so keep working hard I have faith in each and every ITZY.
JYP is delusional. He thinks he's a musical genius. Look at ITZY's new song. I'm assuming that their embarrassing attempt of copying new jeans is his idea. Whoever made that song and concept, is musically trash. JYP is crazy.
He is giving critique here and he even showed yeji how he wants it by singing it out to her. Of course its hard to sing how someone wants it. And Lia, I would say she got it rough but it seemed like he was satisfy with it. I feel like Yeji and Lia got the hardest critic because they usually get the most line when it comes to singing. Majority of the catchy singing part, is usually lia or yeji atleast for me.
i love to see all these comments *not* just blindly hating on jyp. this is how it is when you are creating art. it's difficult and tedious and you have plenty of reasons to cry. i remember back in high school i was in the school band, and it was the same way. the director would always get much more strict and harsh in the two or three weeks before a concert. and it was exhausting but that director also turned us into a really great band. itzy are putting their blood, sweat, AND tears into this comeback
@@ms.stytbe5645there is not a single controversial thing about this video. He is giving constructive criticism which is a positive thing. Releasing it was a good move on the PR team.
It's not really JYP, it's their own desire to be as perfect as possible. I think any artist really striving to achieve that is going to cry now and then. Having someone who can challenge you while helping you improve is a gift.
I understand that many Midzys are angry, worried. this album is extremely important for Itzy. nobody knows this better than JYP. Everyone should know what he thinks of the girls. everyone also knows what pressure the girls put on themselves. they really want to deliver. then you stress yourself out more than others. Crying isn't always bad. It also helps.
He pressure them so hard, criticizing their vocal instead of giving them a nice advice. Itzy is been around 3 years already in the company but treated like rookie and beginner. I don't think it worth it still tho cause he promoting them poorly in this comeback. Look at their comeback in this recording which is drop few weeks ago very low view. Look at the recent one which release 14 hours ago "Non my business" only have 1.3 million views. He can promote Nmixx well why can't Itzy? I always realize JYP will treat their artist poorly when he has new group. Poor itzy. He waste their potential.
This is literally THE take that everyone is going to hear on the radio, spotify, MV's, etc. forever basically so it has to be perfect. I have no doubt they want to do whatever they can to put out the best so they don't regret it later.
People still think that J.Y. Park is JYP Entertainment when it is not , there is multiple divisions that work with different groups. Still don't get it how people think that every decision in big company like JYP Entertainment are done by "one person" ... he is not even the CEO!!!
With great lyrics, comes great responsibility...ITZY slay with Bet On Me mv, we're showered by unbeatably heartwarming emotions...good job JYP and ITZY!
@@PeikkeyBig cope. I love Itzy but their music is terrible. Jinyoung being nitpicky won't help them when the entire direction of the song is bad. Nobody cares about emotion in a song that doesn't good to begin with. This is a running theme with Itzy. Strong start because they're shiny and new but when that wears off everyone realizes their music is D tier crap thanks to JYP being old and out of touch. They only get by because people like me love the girls regardless.
JYP is a perfectionist and a direct communicator. He might get over the top sometimes or even be unfair, but he's just striving to extract the best out of ITZY members because he believes in them. In such a competitive environment, people like him are needed. I don't see anything wrong in this particular clip, much the contrary. I see how much hard work and passion are being put into this album. Tears can also help us grow and become stronger.
If you think being idol is all fun and happy, you're totally wrong. Don't think that it only happens to Itzy. Other groups also have hard times that make them cry. At least JYPE didn't cut the crying scenes, they ready to receive your expected hate comments. They show you how hard it is to be an idol
you said it right! even outside kpop. you name it - Hollywood, music, sports etc. the kids just just dont understand being in a professional field, and we need to remind them its not all fun and games.
Plus, if you see the company and jyp in this case as villains, you see the group as poor children that needs help. We as humans have the tendecy to be heroes that need to protect them so is even better for the group since there would be more concern and empathy for them as the "poor girls who are trying to succed but their mean ceo is putting them down" when in reality is all the people on internet the ones being rude to them and always commenting about everything they do and seeing them as an object 💀
@darkfrost1901 Are people saying those jobs are easy & always fun, though? I have never heard anyone claim that. People commonly underestimate how difficult being a professional entertainer is & how much work goes on behind the scenes.
@@NotAnotherKuromi many people say it's easy and other people idealize It so much that fantasize on being a celebrity. Some even forget the work and pressure that comes with it
Honestly I just feel bad because most idols do not even get the right vocal training to properly support etc. and then it's their fault for not sounding perfect
The song are suppose to be emotional, thats why when I heard it the first time even though I dont used the subs the first time I really thinking "Why do I feel emotional hearing this" furthermore when the MV shows the Chaeryeong part when she has scar on her face. Good job from them all, and if you hear it closely the Lia part in this clip with the result in recording its really is showed that they nailed it in the end..
All JYP wants is for his artists to be their best and reach their true potential. His methods are not meant to appease anyone. They are tough but they create artists and people that are strong and confident in who they are and what they can do. He is the one person that is always on their side. He's like a father figure giving tough love because he doesn't want to sugarcoat anything and give them a false sense of security. That's what a father figure and a leader in industry does. The man knows what he's doing and those that criticize him need to understand that and not be so retaliatory. He always has the best of intentions. That's why his artists are top notch and amazing people inside and outside of Kpop.
Yep, that’s how I’m seeing it. He’s not being angry and he’s setting expectations on sound or trying to help push them to go a little more. It’s a possibility, and what I think the most likely, the tears are just frustrations of trying with all you have at the time, trying to meet your own expectations, but not being quite there yet.
@@seoulgii he didn’t make them cry. They are emotional because they want to get this comeback right so they put pressure on themselves to work harder. It’s not his job to baby them. It’s his job to motivate and shape them into artists. They’re adults working in Kpop. Pressure is always around them.
And the result was incredible, honestly the girl's voices in this section give me goosebumps and bring a tear to my eye because they're sooo emotional and amazing. Go Itzy!
Wait what?? I was expecting full on unreasonable criticism but he was just being strict and to the point. Plus their hard work has paid off as their comeback was incredible!
All I see is a responsible boss helping the group succeed by pushing them to work hard 🤷 I honestly think this normally happens in every studio and as you know now, ITZY sounds so well 👌
Well whatever this method did, it definitely worked because the first time i heard the song, i cried. This song focuses heavily on vocals and there is little to no backing track for some parts. It is important that their vocals fully convey the emotional message of this song, or the lyrics would be for nothing. Im so grateful to itzy for working so hard to give up the best quality comeback ❤❤❤❤
It's tough but it's the job. JYP doesn't usually sit through recording sessions so if he's investing his time on them it's because he really wants to help. In the end I think they did a great job with that song.
After watching Yeji and Lia. I understand one thing that it's way hard to make a new song more than remixing an original song. Proud of ITZY and other kpop groups hardwork. Also appreciate the JYP how they train their group.
These inflammatory representations of JYP only serves to get more people to watch the documentary and see for themselves that he's actually really patient, shows how previous songs like wannabe were such masterpieces. He knows what these girls are capable of supports them at every step of the way.
TAKE NOTE : He does this so itzy can grow even more and improve ! without all of these things they will never get any better, so lets not focus on the negative and keep supporting them instead
I know its not easy to see them cry, but i just hope people could just encourage the girls or some other thing that is more positive for the girls instead of bashing JYP, what he do here is working.. just listen the result in "bet on me", i dont think i remember ITZY singing more emotional song than that ever before..
As a singe, dancer, and performer myself, I understand what Yeji and Lia are going through. It’s tough and sometimes you want to cry. You cry because you want to be happy and satisfied with the results, knowing you did the very best you could do. The pressure you have can be hard, to the point you cry with your teacher is telling you to fix something. It’s just part of the process of getting a perfect result.
I don’t think y’all understand how important this album is for itzy, they haven’t had a comeback in months and they can get to the top if they get this right. JYP is getting the best out of them. Y’all heard the new album right? It is really good and that’s because JYP got them to sing their hearts out and nothing motivates you more then emotions.
he is right tho, and we have the proof, the end result is amazing. Both Bet on Me and None of My Business is vocally the best they've ever done. It's amazing.
They’re afraid of disappointing him and the fans. They took this seriously which shows how much it means to them. JYP was very patient and tried his best to deliver the constructive criticism as kindly as possible. I see where the anger comes from but y’all gotta understand that high stakes always do this to people. As long as they know how to work together, they’ll get through it. I HOPE ITZY SUPPORTS ONE ANOTHER, through and thin and thick. They need one another for balance
I love Itzy they are my bias girl group but like it’s that they don’t even deserve to be treated like that. I know he was trying to make them better but he could have been more nice abt it, it was more demanding than nice and also Itzy is so under-rated because JYP don’t advertising for them no more so they are basically just out there and a lot of people have forgotten abt them so for him to push them this hard and not get recognition for what they are doing is crazy insane
This is how JYP does business. He gets what he wants no matter what. Is it bad? No. It's his job to make the girls do their job as singers, not only as visuals. But sure methods can be softer. It is worth remembering the interview with Sunmi where she talked about working with JYP
Softer is one way to put it, I would say he's an incompetent people manager. People bend over backwards to justify terrible behaviour to their favourite Idols but there seems to be a terrible culture at some of these music groups of how to criticise or ask for improvement or something different in a certain area. Compare for example how the producers/sound engineers ~ ask new jeans to alter their vocal style in the Super Shy recording video. They are asking for what they want - and getting it - but no one is treating anyone badly or feeling bad about themselves. It doesn't have to be done the way JYP does it, and just in terms of efficiency and results, his way is clearly the worse.
Lmao, is it bad? Of course it is. This is typical idol treatment. It's known to be rough, working 24/7 with little to no rest and getting shit on. And you wonder why south Korea has the highest rate of suicide. Perfectionism is hot garbage in korea. Let's not condone such horrible treatment and call it what it is. It needs to change and that's a fact.
Stop making excuses for him being a poor producer. Tons of older JYPE idols have complained about him being difficult to work with, giving confusing directions in the studio, and even making them record a single line for up to 19 hours. That’s unacceptable.
@@JenksAnro Comparing the record of ITZY and New Jeans is wrong because the age of the members s completely different. It would be strange to see a producer says something like this at underage girls and bring them to tears
I would be concerned if they had tried to keep this under wraps, but the fact they openly showed it on an official documentary means something to me. The comments and remarks werent made with the intention to hurt, but to push them forward. It could have been said differently and accomplish a similar effect? Maybe, but I dont think its as awful as people make it out to be.
Firstly, I want to say that Lia is in the music business, and she knows that to make a hit currently within the music 'industry' she's got to bring her A game to the table. JYP expects that. I'm sure it's in her contract in so many words. Secondly, being an empath, I can feel she has something else on her mind, some serious to her and that is affecting her day. When you focus in on her eyes the emotion fills me, and I can tell she's not feeling well emotionally but you can also see that she knows what the problem is and it's not something she can just turn off. This is a young girl and girls are emotional and sensitive and these pressures they have on them. Her heart wasn't in it that day. They are all going to have bad days. Now, if it is a consistent behavior of JYP to do this then I would seriously question their motives and actions. But you are right when he tries to make them cry to feel more emotion. Crying is the result of fierce emotions. That might be the wrong type of emotion they should be feeling. Maybe excitement would work better. He is cold because he thinks that way making them feel bad is a good way to go about it. Of course, he's not a therapist....
Some people hate on him but the song has to convey a confident feeling , so it’s obvious they were feeling down , so he gave them a pep talk and they cried ! He was serious cause it’s work
Jyp is not wrong. He knows what comments he group gets for the comebacks in recent years. Like if the song has no good beats but voices have emotionally attacks people then it’s a win.
I can feel their anxious-ness and it feels like JYP doesn't even care how they feel. I know he is trying his best but i think he should make it feel like they don't have to make sure he feels proud and all. I love you ITZY
no I'm sure he cares , but yk this album like every one is gonna hear. It needed to be perfect yk, hes hard on them so the the album can be perfect. He's a good coach imo. U can see how he coaches if u watched a bit of a2k. I don't see anything wrong btw..( not tryna fight with u)
It's okey to make mistakes it's part of the learning process, I love to see them trying their best, I hope they will be able to recover and own their spot again, not a midzy but all the support and love
If no one is ever there to push you and say you can do better then your now we can become satisfied with complacency instead of finding our true potential Edit: it’s also so awesome to see a person very passionate about their work JYP has a vision that he wants carried out and he isn’t satisfied with just okay
They're Professionals people! They're young yes but they're not babies anymore and don't treat them like one. This is everyday lives of professionals whether its music, sports or etc yet only Kpop idols getting treated like they're babies goddamn stop it
I mean I saw nothing wrong with this tbh and I do not understand the criticism JYP is getting on social media. He is the producer and has a song in mind, so if it doesn't come out during execution, he has the right to point it out from the artist.
it may be very harsh on the girls, but i guess JYP really knows their limit and he wants them to do their absolute best for this crucial comeback. stay strong girls ❤
I wish JYP himself would consider giving ITZY another vocal coaches. The girls really need a new vocal lesson or at least give them the same vocal coaches their junior gg have.
I work on music dept in my country where i focus on making the artists voice stand out and clear.. im amazed that active artists from JYPE didn't use voice editing than other overated idols, ITZY might be a weak vocal line but they proudly use their real voice in their music and not a voice that's filtered too much.. Singers from other companies used too much voice editing that if you listen to it carefully the more obvious it becomes.. that's why they are afraid to sing live coz they are afraid people will criticized them..
The standards of kpop is extremely high especially with the global fans wanting more. JYP wants them to succeed in the industry and unlock their full potential. They signed up for this chance to be one of the greatest and if they keep improving, the members become unstoppable. It’s all about the right mindset and being in an effective team that promotes excellence and sacrifice.
I just feel so sad and angry for them he doesn't need to be that hard on them although I do understand I just can't help but feel compassion for the girls God knows they work so hard and this breaks my heart 💔
It’s all part of reality. If you don’t work hard enough, you’ll get criticized. Working hard enough also will get you criticized but it’s for the better
Meanwhile in his a2k show he is nice and sweet 😂😂to all of the girls that have zero training or skills that within weeks all of them have become amazing idols
@@user-wt2nu9iz9t they already debuted in Korea ☠️ and the hate it is not towards this girls but it is in a insult to the kpop idols that we know go through so much pain and hardship just to hopefully debut
It breaks my heart, tbh. They are so young, Lia looks scared at JYP like she just wants his approval and I get why he is being like this with them and the pressure, but I still wish there was a better way. I hope this comeback pays them back all their effort and tears, love to itzy and midzy 💕
Same. That is my feeling. I get the job can be high stress, I get the song is important and needs to be emotional. However, I just don’t like they seem so anxious. There has to be a way to encourage an earnest emotional performance where they can feel more comfortable and confident. Just because pressure works, doesn’t mean it is the only thing that works.
They don't just look anxious, they look plain scared of him, especially Lia. I don't think that's how workers should be around their boss. The girls look tense and afraid. You can see it in their eyes.
It's sad that ITZY felt a bit stressed/sad recording this, as we saw some tears, but JYP knew these girls had more potential and was just trying to push them so the product would come out really well, and it did. The girls were probably teary too because they want the greatest "product" out of these recordings. JYP knows what he is doing, so please don't hate on him. ITZY debuted for a reason guys. They know they have the potential, and so do we Midzys.
He knows exactly what the sound should be. Hes trained in vocals. Hes offering advice. The girls are frustrated and cant handle the pressure. Theyre embarressed. Coaches give honest critique so the people theyre coaching are THE BEST at what they do. Hes not being abusive or mean. Stop the narrative hes not a nice guy. He is.
Honestly y'all are dramatic. JYP was just giving comments in improving the song with no foul words or putting pressure on the girls. If the girls cried then that's on them letting the pressure get to them, JYP did not do anything to even pressure the girls and was just giving comments, he didn't raise his voice or anything really. They aren't kids and I'm pretty sure other jobs had it way worse than this.
We appreciate the behind the scenes. I don't think JYP meant to hurt their feelings, if you listen to every suggestion he mad it was dead on. Seeing how good this comeback has been so far shows that it was important to point out the flaws. There is alot of competition out there now and I'm pretty sure they all know it. The end results are what matter if the teaching style can seem a little harsh in people's eyes that don't have a musical background. This is how all great teachers mentor their students even at the high school level.
it's clear that Jyp really digs Yeji and Lia as strong womens, and it's quite intentional when jyp know it. I understand that other fans are worry about that. Jyp only roasting Yeji, Lia and given good advice. 😊
Anyone who thinks he's being too harsh is going to get such a big reality check when they start working themselves. The dude is actually being nice and patient compared to ur average manager.
Watching this actually makes me appreciate and respect soyeon more and moree, the way she handled the member and treat them nicely while recording especially shuhua, how she is being very patience and teach her with respect till she got it right
Perfect practice makes perfect. All of ItZy has the right stuff. ItZy is quality music period. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ working hard to be the best you can be.that’s impressive. ❤️
From my perspective, JYP isnt bullying them. He has extremely high hopes for them and they know that they can achieve too. Im happy to know that ITZY's success today is because of the girls' hardwork and JYP could have just chosen to leave this out of the video.
ironically, what JYP criticised about Lia and Yejis’ voices are exactly the technical weaknesses in their vocals. Lia, while she has a pleasant tone and voice, her voice often “thins out” and becomes airy, and she isn’t great at belting while keeping a full and supported sound. Yeji has more “powerful” vocals and it’s great for her when she sings live because she’s often loud and strong, but she also sounds easily nasal when she sings high notes. I feel like these are technical weaknesses that have been with the girls for really long and I can’t help but feel like their vocal coaches have a huge part to play in this. JYP can give them suggestions and advice them as and when they record but to solve the root of the problem, they need to get proper vocal coaches to give them coaching again so that they can learn to better use their voices in the long run.
Its their career! Its their life! Idol life is so short! They should work their ass off because onces its gone its gone! They are so lucky to have him there! Lia needs to grow and breakout not be uwu babied!
You usually don't see the CEOs of the big companies being present in their album recordings: JYP might be cringey sometimes but he actually cares about his groups.
Somi once said that she got really bad anxiety from recording when she used to be under JYPE. She said it was a toxic environment to work in and that it was one of the reasons why she switched labels. So seeing this doesn't surprise me. I understand that you sometimes need to be tough to get the best results but it doesn't have to be this stressful or uncomfortable. Just watch STAYC's recording as an example, their producer is coaching them the right way.
I think he does that to push them to give the best of themselves because, at the end of the day, if ppl consider they didn’t give their 100%, they gon criticize them too. So I think jyp knows their potential and want to show everyone what they’re really capable of. But ofc mentally, it’s not easy for itzy members because they put a lot of pressure on themselves and they’re frustrated and stressed out when their voice don’t come out as they want it to. Stay strong my babies
I don't see any problem with this. In fact, this just shows how much he cares about them. He gives frank and straightforward critiques so that they will push themselves to sing their best and the outcome was absolutely beautiful.
just see the news, poor lia. Jyp never known with their vocals, why he pushing them so hard. I am 100% sure all itzy members will leave jyp after their contract end
I don't get Midzys. First, they complain about JYP not caring about ITZY’s previous comeback, and when he's doing what he's good at they get mad. Make it make sense. Idols don't need fans to hold their hand, he isn't bullying them he wants them to succeed in a cutthroat industry. Kpop stans easily hate on the guy without seeing the bigger picture.
ITZY is dance group since their vocal is surprising weak for so many years of training and practice. The last thing you want as k-pop group is having younger girl group from your agency out doing your team in every aspect 🤔
They should have more vocal training and proper vocal support for each one of them because they have different ranges and even tho you dont have big of a range. When you have support you can sound very powerful. I think they lack that and thats why their voices will sound nasal because its lacking support. Because the more supported your voice is the more powerful it becomes. Example is how powerful sullyoon's voice sounds like.( All the nmixx member tbh specially the vocal line, they are supported very welll thats why they dont struggle singing even with hard choreo)
true… especially for yeji. i love bet on me, but her voice still sounds nasal even though it’s the finished product. i’m sure she could get it right with proper training or maybe it’s just really her voice haha. i’m not hating on her but her voice is sometimes tough to listen to 🥲 talented nonetheless
@@cintivla yes we all love bet on me its a very nice song.. but I agree with you its like her voice sounds the same whether its becoming high or not. Meanwhile Lia's color comes out more in melo songs like kdrama ost where she sang. In the documentary when jyp told yeji that she sounded very nasal and its because she has sinus cold or something.. if thats the case then she sings nasally most of the time because if you have supported vocals even if you have cold and stuffed nose you can still sound powerful
