Jyväskylä is a city and municipality in Central Finland. The name translates from Finnish as "grain village." As of 2023, the city's population is approximately 148,000 residents. It was founded on March 22, 1837. According to public opinion surveys, in 2012 Jyväskylä ranked third in attractiveness for living among Finnish citizens.
