Many people are looking at Eurovision 2023 all wrong. It wasn't a disaster it was one of the best things to happen in living memory for music. Simply because this utter legend of a man has been uncovered, his legacy begins and so does a new dawn of music! I loved Cha cha cha, I then heard of Mic Mac and now I am listening to this and every one is complete brilliance!
I'm currently binging Käärjä's discography because I love him and I'm glad I discovered him through Eurovision, although I don't understand a word. Now I know how people felt last year when they obsessed over Måneskin lol (I'm Italian)

The Western concept of this genre isn't always as upbeat as Kaarija makes it. Some Americanized contemporaries I would say are Blackbear, BBno$, Yung Gravy, and Lil Dicky. They tend to make hip hop a bit more light heartedly, and palatable for some.

There's something wonderfully melancholic about the melodic part of this song, even though it's all about an afterparty and the struggle to keep on with the drinking as much as I can understand. Brilliant, can't get it out of my head.
If I'm understanding correctly, the melancholic aspect to this song is because the story is about forcing oneself to keep drinking to an unhealthy degree and verging on the point of dying from it. But the person in the story feels it's necessary to keep drinking. The yelling in the song is the person yelling at themself to not (die) sleep, which explains the picture used. It's very reminiscent of the story sang about in Cha Cha Cha, the unhealthy reliance of drinking in order to survive. And I say this is a story about a hypothetical person since Käärijä has said that he doesn't drink in these ways. Anyway, this is the best I've been able to interpret of this song until my Finnish friend confirms the lyrics for me. I hope this helps at all

Käärijä was not famous before Eurovision. Plus, most of his videos are audios, not video clips. Now he's getting more recognition and more people come to his channel to check his music. His videos are getting more views now. Cha Cha Cha has reached 2 million views, Mic Mac 1 million and Välikuolema will hit 1 million views soon 💚 But I totally agree with you. The rest of his songs deserve even more recognition.
