I am happy to let you all know that i have spoken to Daisy at K&F and i am informed they are making a 3 stop and 6 stop ND filter plus working on a lens cap. As soon as these are availible i will be getting them and i will share this news with you.. I believe this is a very nice little kit.
Question Paul. If you like the Kase filters and you have them, why are you changing to K&F? I have the Kase Magnetic filters and I like them. The only problem they all suffer from is the lens caps may not stay on if you are moving the camera around. I contacted them and they said (and it now says on their website) the cap is for camera bag protection. They also say that the magnetic pul will lessen if too many are stacked. Again, this is if the camera is being moved. I have never had them come apart, but I don't walk around with the cap on anymore.
Sharon, first i am not changing to K&F, i have a relationship with them they send me gear i take a look at it and show you guys... But i must say they are going in a very very good direction with the mag kit... Second i love my Kase glass its very nice quality and its meant to be drop proof toughened glass (not tested) but the issue saying that the lens hood is for bag protection only is crazy, that would mean i have to remove the filter ring and fit a standard lens cap when ever i walk around with the camera out the bag... i have had my lens cap come off twice and both time nearly lost it and at £20 a time thats not good.. i would not carry the camera over my shoulder with multi filters attached but i would hope to use the lens cap... This is why i am heading over to Freewell, the same top glass but a much better lens cap that will pull off the filter before falling off haha... K&F will be interesting once they have the lens cap and ND 3 & 6 that they are working on...lol
@@paulcomptonpdphotography I agree with you that their reply to my complaint about lens cap was terrible. I suspect they are trying to fix the issue. Certainly if the other companies get it right, they will lose out.
Thank you. I really was looking to see if Kase’s magnetic filter would fit K&F magnetic ring and was worried when the cap wouldn’t strongly stick but then by leaving the Kase ring at home you gave me my answer. Thank you. FYI, I have never left a comment before… that’s how thankful and happy I am I found your video.
I bought an Olympus 8-25mm lens and wondered which magnetic filter system I should buy. Watched several YT videos, but this video makes all the difference for me. Since it is an ultra wide-angle lens, I will purchase a 77mm K&F filter system for this 72mm lens. I probably won't be bothered by vignetting then. Great idea about those carabiners! Many thanks for this instructive video👍
www.kentfaith.com/SKU.1636?tracking=61c8287d4cd2b www.kentfaith.com/SKU.1708?tracking=61c8287d4cd2b two kits make one great kit i recommend getting the 82 and use a set up ring for each lens less vignette just in case
I have to ask do you calibrate your screen as you say that you can't see any difference between the filters? The K&F certainly appear warmer than the BLUE tones of Freewell and the GREEN of Kase. .Also the K&F appears SOFT if you study the central buttress c.f the other filters. I don't think I'lll be change my filters systems for awhile yet.
I just say it as i see it, my screen is not the best and maybe not perfect but i dont think most are... I am pleased you have said in the comment as people can see what you see... The softness could be me i only took one photo each..
Thanks for a very nice video, I've ordered the K&F magnetic 82 mm. I've been useing their square ND together with my NiSi CPL and I'm very pleased with their performance. No color cast and as spot on with the Stops as possible. They follow NiSi's app 100 % on long exposure as far as 15 minutes so far. Still gonna keep my NiSi V6 square but the price on these K&F magnetic has to be a really good deal! I'm sold!
Hello Paul I like your style. This test was more real world Test so I like to thank you for that. On my Mac was as well a slightly green cast on the Kase filter but easy to change in post. Great Job. Thank you
So after 2 years, we know that K&F and Kase have the same polarity and that Freewell has the opposite, but have you (or anyone else) found out if you can use K&F filters on Kase magnetic base or viceversa? Any cross compatibility among the three systems at all? Would be lovely to mix and match!
@@paulcomptonpdphotography that is wonderful! Thanks for that. I have two pages up, one with Kase stuff snd another with K&F. That is the push I needed. Thanks again!
When you think about it its surprising its taken so long for magnetic filters to appear. I like K&F gear and their customer service is good as was illustrated to me when i needed some spares for one of their tripods. Nice straight forward review
I use a xf10-24 fuji which has a 72mm thread , I got a Kand F 77mm step up as my other lenses go up to that size. would you recommend I go to 82 to be on the safe side with vignetting? Also what sort of arrangement should I use for a lenshood -I see Kase have one but K and F dont?
My thoughts: On my mac the kase ND looked to have a Green tint compared to the others. could see the lightly Blue on the free well .Prefere the K&F .nice review .Be nice to see a compare with Lee ND .K& F v Lee .
Could i ask you both to have a look at my origenal filter test and let me know what you see in that ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Plvtt_mpZ78.html
Hi Paul thanks for the heads up on the K&F Magnetic filter kit been pondering over magnetic kit for some time now as I use 100mm x 150mm so googled for best price found Kent&Faith offering great deal 82mm kit for £85 jobs a good one .
They are working on one now, i have been told soon as its ready i can share it with you.. you can however use a normal cap as long as you get the right size like i had to on the Kase kit as the cap fell off easy
@@paulcomptonpdphotography yes I thought it was possible to stack magnetic ones, I will go with case I fill more confident that I may find them in the future. Thanks 😊
@@paulcomptonpdphotography I should get them today 🙂 I order ND8, ND1000 and PL and cap. Maybe I will also get ND64 ( not sure ). In Italy price difference between K&F and Kase from shops is negligible. Price are much higher on kase EU website, not sure if new stock will cost more. I saw also Neewer magnetic ones that are a little cheaper but I prefer to be in system where I hope can get a filter if I break it or a step-up if I need it. I did cheapout before and end up not have a continuity in supply
I mainly use my 18-55mm when I’m doing Long Exposures, mainly due to only just switching to Fuji and I only have the 35mm otherwise but I’ll be getting a longer lens soo, which,I’m not sure yet. I bought the screw on K&F 10 stop and there’s some colour casting but not too much but it’s early good quality, especially for the price, less than £30. These work out a £92.99 at the minute for the 58mm I’d need which is hell of a lot cheaper than the Kate System
@@paulcomptonpdphotography Thanks, I’m new to Fuji, and Mirrorless, not sure I bought the right camera really but that may be down to not being able to get up and use it for Street Photography, the main reason I bought it.
Great video. Do you happen to know if they produce 3 & 6 stop NDs in the Magnetics? Seems a weird combination to have a 10stop and cpl and not a mid ground ND as well
They are making them now, they will let me know soon as they have them, plus they are making a lens cap as well.. I like the CPL and 10stop i think its the two you use most
@@paulcomptonpdphotography that's perfect. I found myself using a 6 stop more than any other filter but there were times I really needed a 3 stop. Think i used my 10 stop twice since owning it but its handy to have for sure. I'll keep my eye out for the others. Thanks!
Nice review. I looked at buying a set of these but couldn’t find an additional magnetic mount for a different size lens. I did contact K&F but heard nothing from them so didn’t buy them. I wanted to fit a magnetic mount to each lens so I can just pop the filters straight on, if I bought a Kase magnetic mount would the K&F filters fit on it, you tried it the other way around?
@@paulcomptonpdphotography but if I change lens then I need to unscrew from one lens and then fit to the other lens. This makes the magnetic filter useless as I may as well just keep my screw in ones. Surely the magnetic ring stays on the lens, you fit extra magnetic rings to each lens and keep them on, just clipping the filter on whatever lens you are using at the time. Now that you have said that the K&F fit on a Kase magnetic ring it wouldn’t be an issue I would get some Kase magnetic step up rings. But I was disappointed that K&F didn’t get back to me as I contacted them a couple of months ago if not more. Thanks again for the review.
yes thats what i do, i know freewell you get a mag ring with each filter so you can add to each lens, i know kase you can but them as extras as i did. i am sure once k&f have finnish they also will have the rings but at least you know kase rins work with k&f filters haha
i never noticed any difference while editing the photos.. most are now about the same.. if you put any other piece of glass in front of your lens it has to loose a bit..
Great comparison, thank you. I just got the K&F system and looking forward to using it. Though have you hear anything else about them doing a magnetic setting ring?
As always a very fair and honest Compton style review perfectly filmed by Mrs C. I haven't checked but I am assuming that if you were to purchase either the Kase or Freewell 10 stop ND filter + polarizer + case then this would work out considerably more expensive than the K & F kit. If so then from your findings it would appear to be a no brainer to opt for the K & F as there appears that any differences in image quality between the three makes are virtually imperceptible 📷👍
well at the moment Freewell sell the seperate so each filter you get a lens ring, the Kase kit in a pouch basic set you get three ND filters and a lens cape, with K&F you only get one ND filter so it will depend on thier final price for the full kit?
brilliant experiment between these filters Paul, very tittle to choose from, but there is a big price difference, the k & f is a great value for money option for me.
Hi Paul, just a quick question, I've ordered the k&f magnetic filter set and was wondering which is the best magnetic lens cap to get, as k&f doesn't seem to do one. Thanks in advance. P.S. Keep up the good work, you both inspire a lot of people.
Great review thank you Paul, I thought the k&f looked the best possibly more natural looking maybe with a slightly warm hint. The others seemed a bit blue, but I was streaming from my phone to tv so may not be accurate with my assumptions, look forward to your next release on Sunday 👍
Hello Paul, thanks for introducing K&F magnetic filter system (also nice video by the way). I have a question: Does the UV filter also have a filter thread at the top (I mean where the magnetic filters are stacked) so that the lens cap or other filters can be attached (ND0.9 etc.)? Many thanks in advance for your reply. Cheers and stay healthy
That's my idea, what I'm try to ask is if I can attach other filters or the lens cap at the UV-filter (or this adapter ring). Only in this way it makes sense to me to use (to purchase) this system.
It would be helpful if you could provide a concise summary. After watching this video I don’t see why you picked one over the other. If you’re sponsored by K&F just say so. Maybe you did and I missed it. If so, then sorry.
I am not sponcered by them and i am not paid by anyone.. I use Maven Filters now, watch that video i they are so so good ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2YlO5PHM_qI.html
@@paulcomptonpdphotography thanks. I watched it. Can you elaborate on what makes them better than the Kase ones? I think the maven adds the notches which I think is a good feature. But other than that, is it that you think they have no colour cast but Kase does? Also, does Maven offer a magnetic lens hood? Thanks!
Maven magnetic is much stronger than my Kase ones, the cap does not fall off as easy, yes they give you a magnictic cap with them, they are also developing a rear cap so you can carry in your pocket, great idea. plus the case they make is good as its a case that can carry all filters in poclet sfae and small. the colour and notches mak easy finding, the colour cast on my first test was ZERO and kase have a slight brown warm tint only slight.. I really like Maven.. oh and they are tinner. If you would like a set i can get it ordered for you just email me..
I just want them to make a slip in polarizer for their square filter system like Haida and Lee have. Since you seem to have a relationship with them, maybe you could suggest it to them too. It is annoying using a screw on Pol and the square filter system
Nice presentation overall, very quick and straightforward. I would suggest rather than just saying there is or is not a color cast, use the software RGB values reading for various spots in the the image, and on white and or grey cards, to demonstrate it more exactly. The notion "a little bit more blue" is completely monitor dependent, as filtered by your eyesight. Use the numerical values!
