warning for my dark skin, neutral toned and tan peeps out there: the shade range may look big but you might have to buy the black or white. me and my mom went to ulta and i tried to find her shade and the darkest shade didn’t match her so she had to mix the black with it. me on the other hand was the lightest tan shade they had but when i looked how it looked in the sun medium 10 was basically white and i had to mix tan 1 with the white because it was oompa loompa coloring. so long story short if you buy the concealer, if your neutral, dark skinned, or tan you might have to buy the black or/and white to get your correct shade. (edit: ok so i found out r.e.m is backed and produced in the same factory by morphe which is why the shades are so wack. I know this is not Ariana’s fault since morphe has always had crappy products for tan and really dark skin.)
For my dark skin sisters out there I'd like to add something. Watch Ohemaas video. She swatches the last 6-8 shades and they don't run that dark than you would think, with that many concealers. There was a lot of space for more shades between the last one and the black mixer. Which I find disappointing. Why have that many shades and then not do, what you probably intended to do.
@@smileyriley1001 oh thank god i’m not the only one who feels this way. its either pasty or orange and i get so pissed. i am so glad fenty came out with new shades and that kosas and elf exists or else i would have no base makeup.
First off, LOVE this look. Second off, I work at ulta have seen/played with all of the REM launches, and I’m going to be honest, her first few launches had a few hits, but mostly misses. Her newer products tho, are AMAZING. The concealer, and newer lip products are GREAT. The lip liners specifically have now become my fav lip liner formula. They’re perfectly waxy and stiff, but super creamy and have SUCH a long wear time. Honestly they last longer than any lip liners I’ve used, even mac lip liners! But overall, I think she’s heading in the right direction with her brand and starting to release cult favs! I’ve heard no bad reviews on the concealer, lip liners, and the new brow gel (Ik you’re a soap brow type but I think you’d really like it! It has a great hold) but overall, loved ur review and am so happy she’s getting a redemption arch for you! ❤️❤️
Just a tip for anyone who has had issues with the concealer being to drying….since the concealer has hyaluronic acid, it will work best if you apply an eye cream under it. Hyaluronic acid in makeup will dry out the skin if you do not have the proper skin care underneath. Hope that helps :)
I love this channel’s community 😿 the beauty community can be so toxic so it’s super cool that everyone here is able to help each other and not be super toxic and whatnot.
I really love how we can see your skin! It is so healthy and glowing! Thank you for the video today! I don't do make up much but I really enjoy just watching yours!
I’m glad rem beauty has its own theme/identity because I think it looses appeal pretty quickly when a brands whole identity is it’s owner (i.e. Jaclyn hill, Kylie, kkw). But I gotta say the whole space/sleep theme feels like it came out of left field lol
coming at you with the lore rn. if you're a fan of ariana it's definitely not surprising that the theme of her brand is a dreamy and vintage sci fi space sorta thing. she has a song titled rem, and a perfume called rem after that. rem is on her dreamiest and most cloudy sounding album (sweetener). a lot of her early music video inspirations come from the 60s and the depictions of the future and space, so it's definitely on brand for her, but i don't expect the average person to obviously see her as more than another pop star lool so i can see how this might seem quite random.
As someone who has really deep lines under my eyes, the only concealer I dont crease with (until like END of day) is the rare beauty concealer and the bare minerals loose powder. its the only thing that works for me to take it all the way up.
Unpopular opinion - from where I was sitting and judging, the concealer did not look great when Alex zoomed in...it looked texture-y and creased. I just think the formula ain’t that great. 😮
I think that’s the 4k camera. I usually just take her word for it since she’s usually very honest and you know...knows her own face and suing way better than you or I do. Personally I think the concealer looked beautiful.
i've said this before and ima say again ... thank you for your beautiful teeth. Most makeup influencers have porcelains or veneers, I love that you've not changed yours. love you.
@@kjsos99 everyone is trying to look exactly like everybody else with all cosmetic surgeries going on. It creates a ton of insecurities bc if you don‘t look like that there is something wrong with your looks. It’s refreshing to see people who are not „perfect“ and still can be beautiful!
Hi, Alex! I have a random question: I would like to go sugar free for my skin and mental health, and your commitment has inspired me. Would you ever consider doing a video in which you talk about the specific benefits you’ve seen (other than a reduction in dark circles, which I also have FML). Maybe on your other channel? I would love to know if you experienced symptoms at the beginning, when/how often you slip up, and just how it’s effected even other areas of your life. Maybe on your other channel? Looovvvveee You.
For the reduction of dark circles it's real for some but also doesn't work for everyone if you were born with them! I'm indian from my mom's side and i was born with the same very dark circles my maternal grandmother has, so if it's natural pigmentation it won't have an effect on that. I do not have random bouts of acne showing up on my face anymore at all except for a few zits that pop up when i'm in the ovulating phase of my menstrual cycle though, and my skin is so much clearer and just very glowy compared to three years ago too, and it feels much softer to the touch too. I went sugar/carbs free 3 years ago (almost 4 years ago soon enough) with my doctor agreeing to my decision to change my diet (please ask your doctor before doing a drastic diet change like that) and now, mental and physical health wise it's a bliss. I never bloat or feel tired anymore, and i don't suffer from the ups and downs of sugar rushes anymore, but i guess even there every experience is going to be very personal. It wasn't hard at all for me to cut it out of my diet and i didn't feel tired or sluggish but a lot of people seem to have that phase as their bodies adjust to not receiving sugars anymore. Personally I had to cut sugars and carbs because it was rising my cortisol (stress hormone) levels to very high and that was just not good for my mental health as they were already above limit since childhood as i have generalized anxiety and naturally am very stressed and have had tachycardia ever since i was 9 because of that (i have no heart malformations though, it's purely because of my high cortisol and please everyone consult a doctor and a cardiologist if you think you may suffer from tachycardia to know which form of it it is and i also still have to take actual medication for my heart as well to keep my heartbeats at a normal rate so please consult a doctor for that). I feel generally more relaxed and stable mental health wise even though i still have my ups and downs today because that's life and these past two years have been absolute garbage for most people. But in the end i totally recommend for anyone to consult a doctor and see if they can start a sugar free diet considering that all i got was amazing results and that i feel much better ever since i went sugar free.
I went off of sugar for health reasons, and it basically reduced inflammation everywhere. In my face, my joints, even reducing bloating with pms and stuff. Also going off of sugars did WONDERS for my anxiety. It wasn’t so much better like ‘going off anxiety meds’ better, but it was ‘get fewer panic attacks’ better. I hope that helps!
I didn't realize she was sugar free. I would love to hear more about it. Curious as to whether she just avoids refined sugar or fruit and other carbs, too.
When a more watery liquid lipstick pulls off when you touch your lips together, try gently removing it with a dry tissue. Sometimes it can have a secret unintentional benefit-- it stains your lips like you just ate a popsicle! You can then top the stain with a gloss or lip balm, and it stays all day. It doesn't work with a more creamy liquid lipstick, but it can work with the more watery ones. Give it a shot!
from the first launch i liked the highlighter, didn't like the eyeliner but looved the lipstick (the space helmet kind) happy to see you now approve too
Ik you didn't like that lipcolor, but I must say.... it looks STUNNING with your makeup, complexion and everything. I think this color really suits you. 🥰
Such a gorgeous look! Alex, have you looked at NYX lip liners for a Limecrime dupe? They have a few different formulas, some of which have like 30-40 shades. And they’re affordable 🤷♀️
my eyes are just like yours and so i always had a problem with concealing my under eye bags. when i saw the way you do your concealer i HAD to try it and it was perfect!!
I desperately wanted to love the concealer but I'm 52 & I'm thinking it's just not for older under eyes, or just not mine. Curious about the eyeshadow...love a one & done...Hopefully it doesn't crease! 🙏 Love the background 🧡
I don't even bother with concealer, thank goodness I really don't need it. Mainly color correcting for some redness, and for brightening. It just doesn't look good, for me, less is more. 🤷♀️
Just a tip…since the concealer has hyaluronic acid, it will work best if you apply an eye cream under it. Hyaluronic acid in makeup will dry out the skin if you do not have the proper skin care underneath. Hope that helps :)
I am digging the concealer because I am still failing with colour correcting now I will try this one, Essence liquid lipsticks are great! A word what shade of LA colours concealer do you use? It is a pale peachy tone. You look great!
I found that REM Beauty and Fenty Beauty's packaging is super similar and the formulas are also very much alike. Both foundations and concealers that I tried had light coverage. I am generally not a fan of liquid lipstick either and the way the REM Beauty liquid lipstick moved on your lips was awful sauce. I had a bad experience with a liquid lipstick / lip oil from About Face Beauty because it was too clumpy and gross on my lips 💋 😝
I think the concealer did a great job under ur eyes. Love the eye look, then again I always love ur eye looks. I wish I had the real estate on my lids like u have.
I saw them at ulta, the shade range they had was barely nothing because they were all sold out. Now you like them so I will need to try. This looks great without color correction.
I'm usually not a huge fan of false lashes, but those are really gorgeous. I'm hitting the big five oh at the end of the month, so stooopp. You're still a kid 😉
I'm 44 next week! Argh!! 🤣✌🏼 Have you tried the Huda Beauty Faux Filter Concealer?. My eyes are basically yours (I'm your English twin!) and it doesn't crease on me, even if taken right up to the lash line.. it's something special for sure!!... xXx 😎 💜💜💜💜🇬🇧
Quick technical request. Any way to record at a slightly higher volume? The sound difference between you and the commercials is big. I love you and please know this is not a criticism of you or your amazing videos! 🙏🥰
i used to peal on my eyelids all the time too :( especially during winter. cerave mosterizing lotion completely got rid of it for me. idk if it would work for u but just thought id mention it in case
I’m definitely curious about the concealer but not sure if it will work for those of us over 40. It seemed thick when I swatched in store. Maybe used sparingly it can be comparable to Glossier stretch..??
Would you please consider Lady Gaga’s new Triclone Foundation please. You’re one I fully trust and application techniques I trust and learn a lot from😊
hi beautiful! I love your content so much. i was wondering what camera and lens are you using? I've been on the hunt for a better camera and lens for the longest time 💕
I am no mua, just an enthusiast. Maybe I'm crazy, but a lot of rem beauty seems geared towards a much younger demographic. Your look is beautiful, Alex. You could make toy makeup look beautiful. But, I don't have an interest in this line. But, maybe I'm nuts!!!???! Thoughts???? Always enjoy your content! Blessings to you, Alex! ✌🏼💚🙏🏼
Ok I understand your problem with the lip, but your complaint about the color, I thought it was amazing on you, brightened your face. I think you should rethink that color! It looked gorgeous!
The concealer is pretty, but it's insulting that they created so many shades without covering darker shades. Ohemaa Bonsu tried like the last twelve shades, and the range is sad. She didn't even have a shade dark enough to match. This look is 🔥🔥🔥 and I love the lip in the end.
totally! and people in her comments were saying to just use the black mixer but a mixer should be to slightly tailor a shade to your personal skin tone...not create an entire new shade because the line doesn't go dark enough
I do have to agree with you. I’m lucky in that I’m pretty fair skinned so I can usually find a shade easily. But for those who have much darker skin tones, this is rough. Especially considering Ariana was always so fond of tanning…you’d think she’d make more shades for the same people she’s taking inspiration from. 🫤. The black and white concealers COULD be a good idea IF she were to Include more shades, but with the way she did it, it kinda seems like the black and white concealers were a cop out
