The Priest guitar sound was never the same when they ditched Marshall and went with a Rockman setup in the late 80s. Current sound is valve driven ,but too fuzzy and distorted. Listen to Unleashed in the East to hear classic Priest.

That was cool. Thanks for doing these vids and interacting with all of us. You inspired me (and countless others for sure) to pick up a guitar recently, and I can't thank you enough for that. See 'ya in San Francisco/San Jose this summer!

@honksvilleusa I think for his amp tones, he uses a Marshall JMP-1 preamp. For the effects, he uses a Digitech Repliflex.

was listening to early priest the solo in never satisfied is my fav! nice machine them v's!

i love how he's evolved his gear and sound to be current after all there years :)

A huge part of his sound is in his use of very light strings. They give a sizzle that larger gauges don't give you. On the flip side it can make sounds on the bass strings little whisky

Thanks Ken, I grew up buying every album you guys ever made. Working as a young man for the next paycheck to get another priest cassette. Ya those. You guys are some of the nicest guys in music and thank you for it all. I was rather embarassed when you stuck your tounge in the V part of your guitar watching the Screaming for Vengeance tour Video with my mother around though. Peace...

That too and only time will tell if he ever returns to Priest, I hope he does.

Watching him shred his solo on"sinner" live,alone & high above the stage was the closest image i had of the term "guitar god".

So sad you've left JP KK. I first saw you play in 75 and was so looking forward to seeing you play in July,but unfortunately all good things come to an end one day :(

"You can change these strings in less than a minute...or so I'm told. I've never actually done it myself, I have guitar techs for that". Man I about pissed myself laughing when I heard that. Must be nice. No I still do it myself, I don't have roadies or techs.

I have always fancy having the two guitar greats guitars. Now that I have seen KK's models I wish to have one. The only thing I'm left-handed. Can that be arranged?

I wonder - how is the balancing on those? They seem to have a rather light weight body. Are they neck heavy or well balanced?

I've heard he has arthritis in his hands and that's probably why he retired, if it gets any better which it probably won't, it will be amazing.
