That bell is instantly recognizable. Funny how certain engines are associated with a famous or well known whistle but 425 for me will always be recognizable by that bell. The original bell and high mounted headlight always give me major nostalgia. I think the 2008 centered smoke box mounted arrangement looks rather ugly, and the old bell sounded so much more beautiful then the new one. Since it’s return it never quiet felt the same.
See, now for me it's the opposite, the bell sounds, alright to me, but is super recognizable and the light and bell position is normal to me, but that probably because I've never seen it IRL with the high headlight
For most who dont know, she was built back in the 1930s for the gulf, mobile railroad, but she would be renumber into 580 after gulf mobile change his name into gulf mobile and Ohio railroad, she would. be retired in 1950s, following gulf mobile and Ohio railroads dieselazation, in 1970s or 80s, she would be restored to operation in the Louisville and eastern railway, after the railroad collapsed, she moved to other people until was sold to the reading and blue mountain where she continues today
All of these details are so amazing! The whistle cord actually moving when you pull it, the big throttle rods actually going back and forth as you pull on the lever and the cab detail! It’s all just so incredible!
The work put into this is astounding. Incredible job as always Steve! Not to mention the throttle and whistle working is a brand new one. Can't wait to try it

Great promo video I'd say 425 is my favorite Pacific (mostly from a few of the videos from steam train videos) it's quite amazing how many changes this Pacific has gone through over the years I hope it'll still run after 2102 is finished (which I am excited about 2102 returning soon)

I got to the top of Hometown Hill, and there was a nice old man sitting on a folding chair right at the crossing. Super nice guy. Then others showed up and asked him to get out of their shot....to which he loudly yelled: "Do you know who I am???" Turns out he lives at the house right at the crossing. So we were potentially on his property...and he made the other people aware of it lol.
I LOVE this model. That first 6 Chime (before the Reading 6 Chime) I honestly think I should get back into Trainz when I find the time. 6060, the Bullet-Nosed Betsy next now!

Such an excellent video, for my favorite steam engine! The FF SD50's I would inquire as well.. an overall excellent video from K&L and well worth the wait! I've witnessed a lot of the progress through K&L's Facebook page, seeing the outcome video and hearing the familiar sounds is awesome!
Cool! I've always wanted to see the Blue Mountain & Reading #425 4-62 available for the Trainz series. I wish I could see add-ons for it in Trainz Railroad Simulator 2006, Trainz Simulator 2009 and 2010 though.

Seems to be a bug in SP4. The speed of rotation is based off the wheel circumference in meters. So her 69" wheel circumference in meters is 5.503, which is what the drivers are set to. There also seems to be a bug in the game where the wheels tend to spin very slowly even when the train is stopped.

I bought this pack a while back and I have to say that it is extremely well made. All of the locomotives look and sound great, and the amount of detail on the cars is outstanding. I do have one question, though. Are the reskins on the Reading and Northern sd50s private? I'm assuming they are but I would love to have them and would be willing to pay. Thanks!
