K&N Intake For the Ram 1500 (HP GAINS) 

Mine is a 2008 5.7 Hemi in perfect condition. I installed the K&N cold air intake and noticed the difference, but the real kicker was re-programming the computer with a "Diablo Sport Tuner". I get 21 mpg @ 78 mph, and it goes 0-60 in 'wet your pants!' The "Diablo" tuner can be used on most modern vehicles and is so easy that you won't even get your hands dirty. If you want to take it back to the dealership for maintenance it can be set back to "stock" with no trace (to protect your warranty) It takes about 15-20 minutes. I think I paid $300 for it. I have used it on a few friends vehicles' for $50 each. It has paid for itself, and everyone likes the results. I use it for therapy, the way it throws me back in my seat feels great on my lower back!

Started with a Magna Flow exhaust (2018 Ram 5.7 Hemi) then the K&N cold air intake with the aluminum cross pipe for sound. Different truck man. Night and day after the cold air air intake. More power quicker with less hesitation with a low, throaty sound. Highly recommend.

Its not just an mpg and hp gain. But the extra air cooling is ideal with a hemi

exhaust sound doesn't sound any different if anything the exhaust sound seemed diminished by installing the K&N intake system.

There's a pin switch on the side rail that opens when you have hood open that prevents remote starting.

How in the world are you getting 18mpg? I'm doing good to hit 14.5mpg. engine is all stock except Flowmaster outlaw mufflers.

I was told years ago, by a reputable mechanic in my neck of the woods, that these intake systems do absolutely nothing as far as HP gains or MPG gains. I'm rethinking my purchase and might just end up returning it to Amazon. No RU-vid videos I've seen so far tell me there's an advantage to installing the K&N intake systems other than hearing an increased engine whine inside the cabin, which leads people to believe they are getting the bang for their buck and gaining HP

But kind of a dumb question, do cold air intakes REALLY give you more HP even if it’s a little bit?😂 I’ve seen so many comments on different videos that you actually lose low end hp and torque but that in higher speeds it gives you more HP? Idk man all these comments got me all confused and I wouldn’t wanna install a Cold Air Intake on my ram just to lose HP😂

Hey I know I'm a little late to the party, I've had a k&n Blackhawk all summer. I don't know what kind you got, But I've definitely noticed up to 1mpg gain on the highway, End when it's on the higher end of its power i.e. Accelerating at higher rpm so it is by far louder and sounds way better you can hear the engine so much more. So I don't know maybe you just got the cheaper version. I figured with a part like this, where there's going to be minimal gain over all anyway, because it's not like you're changing whole engine components, it would be worth getting the best available. The k&n blackhawk 👍

Hey there man stay away from this intake for your RAM it’s a piece of shit. If you want a real cold air intake with a real sealed unit purchase an S&B cold air intake there about the same price and better performance. I know that from experience thats what I’m running on my 2014 Ram. I know from experience that the K&N are junk I had one for about a month or two didn’t notice any difference in performance or fuel economy. Was constantly cleaning the intakes it was getting wet with debris snow and other junk because it’s not a sealed box. Also sucks in hot engine air. And you can no longer take your vehicle off road if you decide to because your air filter becomes a big straw sucking any water or puddles you drive through. And will cause damage I know from my experience.

Without a tune problem won't gain much maybe 2hp
