the love dive theory is that its based on the story of narcissus, beautiful boy who fell in love with himself, drowning when trying to get as close to his reflection in water as possibel. (the lyrics and imaginery from the mv really fit and I for one will not scoff at a good narcissistic bop, bts said love yourself? ive said be obsessed with yourself! ok queens, sorry namjoon)
The Red Velvet video is based on Hieronymus Bosch’s painting “The Garden of Earthly Delights,” which links it to some of the other fine art references from the mini-album, like Joy as Ophelia in the intro of the video and the Bach sample that the song is built around. A lot of the visuals from the video (the berries, birds, various weird eggs/pearls, the dark world and Seulgi’s golden tower) are taken directly from the painting. Also RUN2U was a huge grower for me. I had the same feeling about it at first but it’s easily my most-played song of the year now LOL.
100% agreed with RUN2U, it didn't get me at first, which also happened with ASAP and Stereotype, but shortly later I was listening to it over and over 😆
The theme of Feel My Rhythm is about enjoying the moment. It references a triptych called Garden of Earthly Delights by a renaissance painter Hieronymos Bosch, which warns against enjoying the "earthly delights", for which we will ve punished in the christian afterlife. FMR lyrics say not to get stuck in the past or the future, "be free in this moment". So stop worrying about sin and party it up :D
Red Velvet´s Feel My Rhythm has references and inspiration from The Garden of Earthly Delights, a triptych painted by Hieronymus Bosch between 1490 and 1510. In that triptych, is represented the 3rd day of Earth´s creation (external panels) and the story of Adam and Eve (left panel), the story of how humans fall into sin, specially lust (central panel) and the story of how they end on hell paying for they sins (right panel). The humanoid birds, the strawberries, the giant eggs where Yeri is into and the strange "building" where you can see Seulgi at the end, are part of the left and central panels. Also, Yeri has a crown made of fruits, representing the joy of being alive and the apple that Eve ate. The scenes where Irene appears in a dark place on a boat and Wendy swimming in a dark ocean full of giant berries, represents the right panel, meaning they are in hell. In the triptych, hell has a lot of boats and a river, maybe being a reference made by Bosch to the river Styx, the one that souls have to cross in greek mythology to reach the Underworld, where you have to make an offer (normally coins but in the case of Irene, the berries) in order to pass. Also, if you look the external panels (closed triptych), you can see God in the upper left corner, with a crown, creating the Earth. All the scene is painted in dark colors, meaning that Seulgi being in a dark place, wearing dark clothes and a tiara, is just the representation of God himself. So, in this story, Yeri and Joy represents the joy and natural sin of humanity, Irene and Wendy represents the hell and afterlife and Seulgi is God, ruling over everybody. Plus, the triptych has 3 internal panels and 2 external panels, acting as "doors" to close the triptych. That made a total of 5 panels, like the 5 members of Red Velvet. Is just a masterpiece¡¡¡

I don't understand about RV MV too, but the song is great, it just grow on me, it's really beautiful it has bach 'air on the g string' as sample, so it’s like classic meets modern, and the MV although i don't understand but i really like the paintings preference from bosch, Anyway the b-sides of the album are also cool, i really like 'in my dreams', it's so beautiful and sad at the same time, why don't you give a try,,
Red velvet explained they represent different stages of spring, Seulgi I believe said she represents the end of winter just before spring when it’s still cold but you can feel spring coming. The members themselves explained it better
Love Dive is so good, you should also check Purple Kiss's last comeback "MemeM", I mostly like it for Swan's solo (if you're paying attention you'll know what part I mean)... no one in kpop has her voice, some people have compared her to Billie Eilish. I actually like their B song better, called "Pretty Psycho"... they've actually been promoting that song, too.

I love all these groups so much! Feel my Rhythm grew on me but I remember when I first listened to it I thought it was a good song, but not something I want to put on constant repeat. Run2U was also good but it’s not my favorite from them. I found it kinda forgettable, but it is a good song. Love Dive is one of my favorite songs in Kpop. It was such a good song!
