About LYRE:
LYRE is a unique girl group, comprised of three K-pop songwriters and producers: Alina Smith, Elli Moore, and Giselle. LYRE has worked on hit songs such as "Mafia in the Morning" by ITZY, "Giddy" by Kep1er, "Karma" by Blackswan, and "Sweet Juice" by Purple Kiss. Their work has been featured in publications like Forbes Magazine, Billboard Magazine, American Songwriter, and 1883 Magazine.
LYRE first gained recognition in 2022 when they started sharing their unreleased songs on social media. Since then, their RU-vid channel has garnered over 40M views, and they've amassed around 400K followers on their collective social media accounts. Building upon their success, LYRE is now preparing to release a large selection of their favorite works from their songwriting vault.

I love this song. It's a good song but the fact that they did such a full throwback in the musical arrangements is what makes it so great.. We had several songs that did that these last years or recently but I think this one went really far into it, and somehow it feels natural at the same time. What sells the song for me is the instrumental hook with that synth bass and lead. I missed that in kpop lately, just more place for the music itself and it really has a big place in this song. Also, I love how it is so outdated that somehow it becomes cool? if that makes sense.

The company is taking care of STAYC so freaking well!! They are a small company but the music quality released by STAYC is always BEYOND. They improve every single comeback!

smth ppl haven’t realized yet is stayc producers usually are always ahead of their time with the releases and specially because they dont just center in one genre but instead try to create smth very unique of the group with smth that already exists because stereotype being this bouncy track a lot ppl dont notice but the chorus is infused with garage which kpop is currently obsessed with and they released that song 3 years ago and their producers have been trying to bring back this 2010s electro pop sound since run2u i’d say but run2u was more experimental more stayc and teddy bear and bubble are very stayc but you can tell they really are aiming for that 2010s teen sitcom sound with those especially

STAYC also released an English version so you should check that out! I've always been obsessed with STAYC's vocals because I feel like they work really well together. I also love J's deep voice even though she's the maknae.

the colour grading and the lighting is VERY 2nd/3rd gen when every music video just had perfect white studio lighting whereas in 4th and now 5th gen, its become more common to have natural or dynamic lightning (as seen with videos like Ditto by NewJeans, Love Dive by IVE or Antifragile by Le Sserafim)

The lightning maybe but not the colors at all, if you compare to 2nd and 3rd gen music videos, Bubble looks like the colors are faded.

It has the same bar and chord progression as Katy Perry's hot n cold which was released back in 2008, that's why it sounds nostalgic.

OMG, you're so right, this song is so Violetta/Argentinian Disney Teen Telenovela from the early 2010s coded 😂. I really love how this song feels like a modernized version of the 2nd gen sound and I really hope more groups will be influenced to make more songs like this, since I love 2nd gen/early 3rd gen music 🥺💜. girl bubble has been my first stayc song where im a diedhard lover! i got into kpop in 2015 with old twice and red velvet like ice cream cake, and this is soooooo reminiscent of that period of music. i miss it so much and while i can totally enjoy new kpop, i hope stayc helps resurface that style of music

One of the cutest most natural things to happen with STAYC is with Sieun (the girl with the long light orange hair). Her dad is basically the Michael Jackson of Korea (he's like 60 now) and every time now when they have a comeback one of the very first dance challenges that gets filmed is with Sieun and her dad. It's very sweet, when they debuted he basically went on every single variety show possible and promoted them like crazy saying that he no longer wants to be known Park Nam Jung and would rather be known as Park Sieun's dad and did their choreo wherever he could (the dance challenge for this song he actually wore a shirt that said Sieun's Dad)

I might be the outlier but I LOVE stayc for their r&b tracks and sultry title so this comeback was disappointing but their B-sides saved this comeback for me. Per usual they have some of the best b-sides in kpop

Kesha and Katy Perry are great examples! The melodies wouldn't be as K-pop, but the tracks have a similar 4 on the floor rhythm and big sawtooth synths :)

One critique I have for the MV is that I was tired of the "take off glasses" cliche. Song wise, I didn't like the "That's me, so what" in the bridge. Everything else is superb tho.
