The Karakorum is the most stunning mountain landscape in the world, and I've visited most of them. I've done several mountaineering expeditions there back in the 80's, and my god, Skardu looka exactly the same as back then. We had to start walking from Dassu though - 2 days just to get to Askole (and, looking at that road, will still prefer to walk).

For your information bro, this land was illegally occupied by Pakistan in 1948 when India had recently acquired Independence in 1947 and Pakistan was carved out of India in 1947

You need to take a 4 hour jeep ride from Skardu and then hikes about 6 days to get to base camp. It's not to difficult if your physically fit although you have to camp every night which is rough! @@aiyshah_shahidchannel
