Used one of these the other day and its brilliant. So much easier than the old type. You really don't need to clamp it on very tight and with a bit of tape around the leg and theres no mark.
I just built my scooter from scratch, and the buffers are failing, (GP type), I wasnt looking forward to doing this job, again, but I got myself a k2 compressor, and I am looking forward to doing this job now.
On gp's you can also snap out the dodgy brackets and drill holes so that you can fit the early, bolt in types. A bit of faff but much easier to replace next time it needs doing.
Oh, to compress the spring with a standard tool, the fork really needs to be taken off the scooter and held upside-down in a vice. That's a lot of work, just to show how much of a pain the standard tool is.
@@kickbackgarage I ditched the standard Rob, it scared me to use it, my mate said leave the forks in and use a standard one with a trolley jack, omg! That's to dangerous, got in touch with Keith at K2 and now have the safer option.. great video, great tool.
