“Not the hero we deserved, but the one that we needed” Thanks bro, you broke it down for the dummies. I’m getting a JDM K24, what maintenance or parts should I replace for a peace of mind? I hear the VTC, Oil Pump, Tensioner, and Timing Chain. I hear you mentioned the water pump, thanks in advance my guy.
I appreciate it bro 🙏 For the intake manifold get the thermal gasket. For the exhaust header, get the oem one can't go wrong. I replace the gides and the oil pump since I upgraded to the type s k20 one. Since the oil pump is Chai driven is pretty rilable if you stay with the non type s oil pump. If your jdm k24a is not from an accord it would need the usdm waterpump housing along with alternator, belt tension. I went with the 02 to 05 base rsx which is the same as the 02 to 04 crv.
And of course install a new water pump. If you want to go with and oil cooler I recommend the k20z3 water pump housing it clears better the rbc headers. The k20a2 one will also fit just a but tight.
Great vid man really puts this all into reality. I on the other hand just went with the full k-tuned turn key kit. All together it ran me around 6K with everything. EVERYTHING
This is good shit. Thanks man. I'm in the process of doing a K24 swap in my 99ek sedan right now. This helped me out alot with what bullshit odds and ends that I need in order to set the car up and complete my swap. Its relieving to me that I'm just about there.
We call them insane shafts the company the make k swap axels rated for 500hp 32mm. Yes that should be the same we in the US use k20a2 out of the 2002 to 2004 rsx.
Almost boosted how’s your 70A Egk2 mount treating you? I am still debating to go with 62A or 70A like you. It’s gonna be a daily as well I doubt it’s ever going to the track. What are your thoughts of your engine mount kit?
Well in general but like the Race spec shifter cables, not sure if worth saving my money on going with a higher end brand but also think a lot of k swap parts are just re labeled/stamped.
@@guaryrodriguez1628 the only bad things I seen from their products. Was the no cut shifter, other then that everything else they have seem pretty decent. They make awesome exhaust headers.
yikes 6k+ thats an insane crazy number, i dodged a fat ass bullet there lol, i got a k24a2 from a buddy of mine it needed a head gasket and he swapped it rather than doing the gasket so he gave it to me for free, then my brothers best friend crashed his 04 type s and sold the entire car to me for 150 bucks, i didn't even make him an offer he just said gimmie 150 and take the car off his drive way, so for literally 150 bucks, i had a complete k24a2 long block with no trans, and a k20a2 with 6spd trans, shifter box, cables, wire harness , ecu, axles, plus my brother already had some ekk1 swap mounts he didn't need because he went with eg subframe and he had a extra conversion harness, took them off him for 200, all i need do is fuel line conversion, and headers and exhaust , BUUUUUUT, i already did a complete single cam turbo build that is currently still in progress so i have mixed feelings about k swapping with all the work and money i already invested, speed factory no notch rods, vitara 75.5mm pistons, acl main and rod bearings, polished crank, ported and shimmed oil pump, stock port head with cometic 75.5mm head gasket, brian crower stage 2 turbo cam, brian crower springs and retainers, aem tru time cam gear, gates racing timing, aternator and ac belt, and all HONDA OEM gaskets (except the head gasket), oem water pump, oem distributor, and oem starter, stock gear box with yonaka stage 3 6 puck clutch and competition clutch ultra light weight fly wheel, ktuned shifter x, with plm d/b series shift linkage joint replacement to get rid of the bitch pin, and the cream with extra sugar HONDATA S300V3 , i also have 2 kemso fuel pump, and chevy ls truck decapped injectors flex fuel from hunter tuned, cx racing intercooler kit all thats left is to drop in my fuel pump and purchase a p28 ecu and sauder s300 chip in get a base map to break her in then get her tuned
Your current setup sounds BEAST. I will enjoy the current setup more no rush maybe build up you kswap parts inventory and have it the way you want. Or get another chassi project with time and put the k24 there.
@@Almostboosted what transmissions work with it or the best im mainly doing this build to get it in with everything I need to start up and drive im not looking to add stuff like forced induction
@@2koolforyou88 if you want budget and turbo 5 speed from rsx base or ep3 are you best options. 6 speed rsx type s or 6 speed z3 lsd will best fit all moto applications.
