To build, first you must unbuild. In this episode of my K20 DC2 Integra racecar build we get the car fully stripped down to a bare shell with all sound deadening removed, ready to get a roll cage installed. The interior is gone, the wiring is gone, the engine and trans are gone, it's all gone. Perfect blank canvas.

Next time use dry ice on sound deadening. After a few minutes. Hit it with a hammer and it will crumble off and leave minimal residue.

Do you happen to have an Instagram page ? Love to see more updates and bug you with questions for my integra if you don't mind, lol.

Sure do, search for shane_technologicmse, there's also a link in the description of this video

are you building this because you think its the best FWD platform of the 90's or because so many readily parts off the shelf for a track build?
@technologicmse
@technologicmse Год назад
Both! It's one of the best fwd platforms ever, very good suspension geometry and very light compared to most cars. And there's a heap of well-engineered aftermarket parts to make it faster. The fact that pretty much everything is bolt-in is a good bonus too :)

@@technologicmse hmmm most people do take the path of least resistance and copy what everyone else is doing. its why all these youtubers will buy the same cars over and over again that have been modified thousands of times and people watch the content only because the editing is superb. ive seen so many integra type r builds/resto and on the street, at car shows that it looks so common, outdated and dull. like a camry or accord.

@@justintowers8230 occasionally the path of least resistance is just the best way of doing something lol, despite it being unexciting for others. In my opinion the EG/DC2 chassis is the best track car out there from any era, though everyone’s definition of “best” is different. For me it will get me the fastest laptimes with the least amount of money, and be relatively economical to maintain. It’s just a cold logical decision. As a bonus I think they look great and sound great too, and fwd really suits my driving style

Nice work mate progressing through this build really quick! Where did you manage to get the carbon sunroof to bung up the hole?
@technologicmse
@technologicmse Год назад
Thanks Danny! The carbon sunroof plug is from Narita Dogfight, they're pricey but such a nice product, and like a 20kg weight saving
@SpiaucyDan
@SpiaucyDan Год назад
Pricey but the other option wud be to re-skin the roof with a gsi one. But they are getting rare as hens teeth. Looking forward to see how you go installing that roof mould

What curb weight are you shooting for? I always wondered if cutting up the interior doors and rear metal panels was worth losing some rigidity?
@technologicmse
@technologicmse Год назад
I'm hoping for 1000kg without driver, will be tough! Because it will have a full weld-in roll cage the loss of rigidity from cutting up the doors etc. won't matter, that's definitely something I'll be doing later in the build

@@technologicmse Should be a flyer if you can hit that kg goal for sure. Are you allowed to go carbon fiber panels in your class? Thinking that might help.
@technologicmse
@technologicmse Год назад
@@nismospek I can, but just for things like bonnet, front guards and rear hatch. I won't do that just yet, but it's on the future list (would like to try and make them myself)
