i know Im randomly asking but does any of you know a tool to log back into an instagram account? I stupidly lost my account password. I appreciate any help you can offer me.
@Malcolm Casey Thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and im in the hacking process atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Have watched countless videos over at PFI trying to get a better grasp on tuning. In one video you’ve cleared up so many questions I’ve had. Greatly appreciate your transparency in your work 🙏
Tuning by Nick I’m the guy who’s been emailing you about the button pop and crackle so you know what videos I want buddy! Keep up the good work, one of the most informative tuning videos on RU-vid, great to watch and learn.
2:20 lol i know what that means!! i live where snow is a big deal. thats why i own a subaru and an evo x too, but my fully built k24/k20 civic si 8th is a gem on summer only !!
I think the cold weather is what really made the extra power. IMO maybe like 3 hp could be the kpro but the bulk is weather. I'm not a tuner so.... I know kpro is a better tuning tool than ktuner but it works. Ktuner was half the price and half the effort than kpro for me to get. I'm sure ktuner will get better in time. Thanks for the videos bro. Stay safe
I know you don't have this car anymore Nick but, when you eventually went boost did you install a different external wideband like an AEM one? Or is the 02-04 wideband good enough for boosted application (I heard its wideband)?
@@tuningbynick my first setup was stock rbc stock throttle body stock injectors stock fuel pump header ktuned 2.5 and skunk2 cat back 3" with a short ram intake afdynamic 2.5 with base map y made 229hp after dyno tune the car was on 238 hp after that i put the throttle body j37 and the long air intake 3.5 ktuned give me 250hp and still stock injectors and fuel pump i still have room to grow and i think i can go to 260 hp on porting the rbc thermal gasket and 4" intake by the headlight plus injectors and fuel pump everything on 93 fuel
Thanks for this video! It looks really scary messing with all those numbers! Quick question if you don't mind: I just have an intake & exhaust and plan to get K Pro soon, will I be fine just using one of their base maps without messing with any of the other configurations? Or would you recommend I get it tuned after K Pro is installed by a tuner? I'm new to K Pro and tuning! Thanks for the time and video!
Echizen32k Media you can get by by using the base maps on the kpro theirs maps specifically for basic bolt ons , but base maps are usually not to accurate depending on set up wise but you shud be fine
Agreed - the kpro base maps are a great starting point and you can usually drive around on them with no issue. However doing so really sells your setup sort, this video is a perfect example, nearly 30 hp difference between the basemap and final tune
Hey Nick, how safe do you think the basemap for a k24a2 is for circuit racing? My car is a 05 k24a2 swap integra (stock long block, injectors, intake manifold) with a ktuned budget header and 2.5 in straight through exhaust?
I really dont think the basemaps are good enough for circuit use. Nothing is as hard on an engine as circuit use - 100% i would recommend a proper dyno tune before circuit racing.
Hi, I have the same set up in my 93 eg K24a2 08/ Ep3 trans.. Rbc - types tb - PLM header - 2.5 exhaust. Stock internals 25 vtc. Injectors on 93 octane. Could if possible you send me this tuned file 🤔. I've not saved enough $$ to get around on a full tune with 50vtc.
Hey Nick, I just started watching your videos. They're very informative and I'm truly enjoying them. Keep up the good work! I have a '04 RSX Type S and I installed a K24A2 from a '04 TSX. It has Skunk2 Stage 1 cams, 50 deg VTC, DC Sports race header, Yonaka 2.5" exhaust, RBC intake, stock RSX throttle body and an AEM V2 intake. This is all managed by a KPro2. Unfortunately, I'm only running on a base map. I'd definitely be interested in having you possibly tune my car (when this covid business is over). I was debating on upsizing to a 70mm throttle body (from stock) and switching to a Hybrid Racing cold air intake (from an AEM V2 intake). What are your thoughts? Do you think I'd realize decent gains (after a proper tune of course)? Thank you. Andy
I have a question. Some on the videos said . Need to turn off the wide band if u have stock o2 sensor or it will blow up the motor .. 😅 thats kinda scary me . Anyone could help ?
Hello I have a 2005 Rsx. I’m gonna install a k24a but first I need to find a kpro with the harness that fits with 2005 ( same like yours) where I can get one, thank you
Great video as always. I've been messing around with kpro v4 for a little bit on my ep3 with the k20a3. Your vids are a great help in understanding the software. I want to get familiar with everything before swapping in my k24. If I send you my calibration for the k20a3, would you be able to refine it and maybe setup a crackle tune also, for fun?
So you need the 02-04 o2 sensor for kpro if it’s a 05-06, correct? how about the fuel ratio sensor, doesn’t matter if it’s an 05-06? or does it have to be 02-04 as well?
Very inofrmative video! Can you pls explain more on the VTC window. On how to properly tune it.. and how will you know if you need to add more degree or not.
That is one of the videos i am going to do in the fall. Ive tuned many K24A2's with 50* and it really depends on the mods. A lot dont need the 50* wheel
Question,I've got a 76mm throttle body and only the opening of my RBC is port matched. How much of a difference will it make to get the manifold fully ported? (Cut open, porting the runners)
Port work like that is super hit or miss - If its not done really well, you can actually loose power by unbalancing the flow of the runners. Its also usually expensive to do. Id maybe consider Drag Cartel DIC cams first, you'll get a lot more power that way - Check out my EP3 Drag cartel cam video if you havent already
Im working on my tune and about the part where you copy all the maps, which map to you recommend copying them from? Im only street tuning with no dyno in my area.
The best way to do it would copy the the corresponding section of the maps that line up with the VTC settings. Problem with that is there usually requires a lot of smoothing Usually the safest option is to use to use the zero VTC maps. But there are so many basemaps out there that is not always the case. Best rule of thumb is use the least aggressive map as your starting point
Hey Nick, I just installed the modified 02-04 rsx kpro that’s designed for the 05-06 as I have the stock k20z1 in my 05 type-s. I was curious if I would have to swap my kpro out for an 02-04 normal kpro once I put in my k24/20 build? Is the 05-06 kpro what you are currently running just with a different calibration/map?
You wont have to change the kpro for your new engine - the thing to keep in mind with ECU's is you usually just have to match them to the specific year or model of your car because the wiring pinouts is what usually changes from year to year but the engines will stay the same - That is why the 05-06 Kpro has a jumper harness
Hi nick what’s you catalytic converter setup? My catalytic is probably getting to hot and leaks, and breaks. Do you use the k24 header or rsx header? I have k24/k20
Im not exactly sure what youre question is - But if you are using a Kpro V4 there you can make either type of speed sensor work and your speedo will read correctly. You might just need to change some wiring - Check out the VTEC Academy Channel - they just did a video on how to wire it up
It really more depends on the power level the engine is making - The stock B series injectors are small. They are usually at max duty cycle at just a bit over 200WHP
If i have a converted kpro for my 0506, can i use my friends tune from his 02 rsx? exact same setup, injectors and all. I have the 0204 primary sensor as well
You can definitely give it a try - You'll need to change the speed sensor settings - But, even if there are similar builds no 2 setups run exactly the same. Im sure it will still need some tuning
Quick question im going k24a soon on my 06 rsx type S will my skunk2 header fit I've ask a few people some say it does some says it don't, and what motor mounts are u using for the k24? is there anything I need before going k24a? Beside crv post mount? Sorry for all the questions lol
My header hit the sway bar so i just removed the sway bar - I never tracked the car, but i realistically felt no difference on the street - You'll want to swap over thermostat housing and thermostat from your K20 to the K24 and the K24 crank position sensor has a different pinout then your K20 - But thats about it - the K20A.org forum is a wealth of information on this stuff
Do you happen to know what k24 would be easiest to swap into a 2003 rsx type s? I have a hondata Ecu with kpro that was in the car when I got it and the stock k20 with about 185k miles. Just looking for options as I get into the higher miles.
Do you have any map for a stock k20a2 with rbc mani and rdx injectors 1320 headers? Need one to drive it to the shop any help please appreciated me f u can help
Mr360allday - best thing you can do is just use your original tune and chance the injector size to 440. That should be plenty good so you can get it to the shoo
Hey man, not sure if I posted before but looking to learn more on tuning and get my rsx tuned, I'm also located in Toronto. I believe I have everything I need to get a tune/basemap made. Whats the best way to reach you. IG? or email
Final run was 25° for the whole rpm range, its still a stock gear, so 25° is the max. I will be swapping in a RBC 50° wheel and yes you can run yup to 40°

I have a custom 40* VTC.. works like a charm.. Had some nightmare scenarios with the 50 on a stock K24.. I feel much more comfortable with a physical limiter over a 50* with an electronic limiter that cannot account for all circumstances.
Nice.. I have a question for you.. I have a 05 rsx s with k24 bottom end and I notice they sell an 02 sensor thats required for k tuner.. What is that primary 02 sensor for and do I really need it? Thanks
Seems your peak torque is coming in really late compared to alot of k24's I see(past 6K).. Most see max torque by about 4600-5000rpm.. And in doing so, they seem to get better torque numbers as well. Most people I see get 185-195tq on a k24 with full bolt ons.. When is Vtec engagement?
How much HP are they making tho? If they are making that much TQ down low they would be making 250+ Wheel HP - That is realistically not accurate for an internally stock TSX engine. Its possible that other dyno has a higher correction factor setting which adds free HP - Mine is set at Zero. No free HP here on my dyno

@@tuningbynick .. They are usually making similar numbers(I made 233whp, 193tq) The torque starts to fall off earlier, but the HP still climbs up to 7500.. And unless you are running a k20 head or a 50 degree VTC you dont need power climbing past 7500 really. And for the street especially, having max torque so early is really nice rather than having to rev out the motor. Most people like the K24 for its early torque so you dont need to hit 6K just to find power like in the k20. Dont get me wrong, I am not a tuner, but most of the Dyno sheets I have seen from my tune, and some of the best Honda Tuners in the World (Jeff Evans) seem to always have max torque early as well as earlier Vtec for stock K24A tunes for the street. I made max torque by 4800rpm, but still made 233whp.. There was not large falloff, but yes, with the torque starting to fall off, you would not be able to make much power past 7500rpm, but you dont need to with a 25 degree vtc and 7800 redline. I can send you my dyno sheet and video if you want. Jeff Evans tuned my car.

@@tuningbynick .. remember, the K24 head doesnt breathe as well as a K20 head, so at higher RPM with limited timing, even though I made earlier Torque, My power did not climb like in a K20 at high RPM. Due to the earlier max torque, my power fell off earlier(saw power dip right around 7500rpm and while your max torque being so late seemed to stabilize power more up top, but for me, HP numbers are not as significant as max torque number. And seeing early torque is ideal for most street cars who daily their cars. I dont know about you, but most people rarely ever see 6-8K rpm on the street. Having such good torque down low is a really nice change over the K20. If I was building for the track, then yeah, maybe I would want power distribution to be different, but I would also prob just throw on a k20 head with cams if that was the case and I needed more RPM and more power up top.
This is a great discussion, i honestly wish i had more time to put into it. All i can really say is every setup is slightly different and every dyno reads slightly different so unless the car was tuned on the same dyno its hard to do a direct comparison of the 2 setups. That being said, what i am hoping to be able to do here with my this car and these videos is to show as i modify the setup and change the up the parts. I hope to be able to show what kind of benefits/gains you can expect to get from each part. Some of the mods planned for the near future are a RBC 50* VTC gear, K20 Type S oil pump, RDX injectors. After that, the turbo kit and AWD conversion. Thanks for contributing with the comments, im glad you and others are participating in the discussions

@@tuningbynick That's great man and I am really enjoying the vids and the different views from all different people. Looking forward to more content on this awesome car! K-series builds are always so enjoyable for me. Personally, I was just curious why your torque came in later, or if this was the power delivery you were looking to have from the beginning and why? I am not a tuner, so I do wonder why some people decide to engage Vtec earlier or later depending on setups and why some tuners choose certain power curves over others. From what I see here in the NE, the common K24A with bolt ons tune seems so have early peak torque around 4800rpm and earlier Vtec engagement. Why this is, I do not know, but I am curious as to why.
Bruh, you can't just tune a car to have 500 hp without all kinds of changes. It only has 150 hp to start with. How are you gonna jump from 150 to 500 without almost changing the entire engine out.
@@tuningbynick thanks. Btw i have friend in calgary who wants to swap his 05 civic SIR facelifted model with a k24. I have a few questions. 1. Is the jdm k24a 3 lobes the same as the 06-08 acura tsx k24a2? If not which on is better and easier to swap in the ep3 2. Is it worth it to get the kpro ( 699 usd) vs ktuner ecu (450 usd) for this build? It will be a mild all motor build only. 3. Do you offer etune service?
@@tuningbynick thank you. Is the jdm k24a 3 lobes the same as the acura tsx k24a2 06-08? He is still shopping for an engine. Whats your suggestion for a k24 build ep3?
Could you send me your tune??? I have a 06 type s with a bone stock k24a2, rbc intake manifold, stock throttle body, short ram intake, full exhaust. Same exact setup as yours. I’m currently running a k24a2 base map I calibrated into the Kpro.
@@tuningbynick i got 2011 si with s2 alpha and s2 mega power rr j35 tb and a takada SR intake clutch and a light flywheel rest is stock. Datalogging every day becomes a pain.
