this has to be one of the most helpful videos. Literally ran out and disabled the clutch sensor that you mentioned by jumping the connector with a wire. Now starts up with out having the clutch in good looking out.
Solid video. The only other thing I would have liked to see covered would be the strength and reliability for internal components. When you need to upgrade pistons, rods, head studs, etc.
Jeff! GREAT information! Straight to the point, no bullshit, all opinions backed up by experience and simple fact. Couldn't ask for anything better, you're a gem!
This is seriously like the most informative and well versed video I've seen on Honda tuning and possible mistakes to look out for, I will deff be referring to this channel for any future projects 🙌👌🔥
To add a bit to 2nd gear failing, when using And upgraded clutch you may want to change your clutch slave cylinder because the factory one has baffles in it to restrict flow and with a heavier clutch springs your shift will be much smoother if you use a K tuned or like aftermarket slave cylinder , I believe this is the major contributing factor to losing second gear
A Person what tuner do you use that he did the flash for? I’m new to actually doing power and everything. Had to do a LOT of work to fix the previous owners mistakes and am finally looking into tunes.
great video...another tip on cams is that if your stock compression, than too big of a cam will make you loose power. pick cams that are suitable for your setup. bigger isn't always better.. awesome video man
Thanks for the advice.. Years of experience.... Going to save me a lot of time.. I can tell you know your $hi+ ... Have a Z4 and will now swap out the Oil Pump and TPS. .. already have headers and 71 TB.. with the RSP intake with TB adapter welded on.. I cut the old TB mating face off the RSP manifold -( fly by wire TB ) .. and just welded the adapter directly to the manifold... ( professionally Alloy welded that is )... . and then ported it to 71mm .. and add an Idle Air port ( RSP does have one ).. ...drilled and ported it...... HOPE IT WORKS.. doing a A to K swap.. Mini A series.. to Honda K series.. :)
Hey Jeff were you at Cars and Coffee today in Orlando?? Could’ve sworn it was you, I was in my AP2 Suzuka Blue S2K when I went to drive off I saw a guy looked just like you. Today is August 14th 2022 just in case you don’t see this soon.
MrTrill409 i agree its a great reliable engine that has tons of potential that is overlooked by everyone so there's no point talking about the j series. There's less than a handful of aftermarket parts. Hi conp pistons. Port heads tune ,cai, exhaust, that bolts to a dainty trans. And 07 saturn vue borrowed the 3.5 so its forever uncool
Great video... lots of good info, would love to see some photos or drawings of some of the stuff to give a good visual representation of what your talking about. For those who might not know what everything that your talking about is. Good job tho... Subscribed!
Tuning isnt cheap but fully building a b series can be just as expensive. Here in cali you can get a k24 jdm engine for $650 and making 240whp with a header and intake manifold with 200ft lbs of torque I'd take that any day. After you fully build a b20vtec your lucky to make 230whp and way less torque and that engine is basically maxed out. Just trying to find a b16 head in good condition for less than $500 is not easy. In my opinion B series is overrated and overpriced.
every video I watch about these engines or even the H Series of engines I always love to learn something brand spankin new about it here guys because the more I can definitely find out about this topic here then I know more what exactly I will definitely be doing here to that engine extremely coming from a Nissan guy to a Honda Guy who knows absolutely nothing about Honda's
After watching this it sounds like there is an aftermarket opportunity for chain tensioners to hold up to cam profiles with larger profiles than OEM cams.
In the Fuel System Part you said to route the fuel coming from the feed line to the fuel rail then out the return line to the regulator then return back to the tank, but most guys do it this way - feed to 3 port FPR then to the rail, other end of fuel rail plugged, then route the return from the bottom port of the FPR to the return line, so my question is, is there an advantage to putting the FPR after the rail vs placing the FPR before the rail? BTW this is for FI application therfore will be running large injectors. Thanks
Some really good info you shared! Can anyone direct me to DIY on removing the clutch pedal safety switch? Would it be as easy as just threading it out of the pedal assembly and zip-tie it under the dash, then thread a bolt into the assembly to act as a depressed clutch pedal stop?
probably youre the best youtuber on giving advices and stuff about Hondas, much respect bro, i just have a question, i have a Honda Accord cl9 with the k24A3 engine, do you have any specific advices to mod it a bit? i have no clue at all 1 specific question:do i have to remap my ECU if i install RBC I.M.? 😐 i would really appreciate any input from you sorry english is not my native language btw ^^ much love bro 🔰🇯🇵 Edit : had to Subscribe so fast that i broke the button of my mouse 😂 Edit N.2 : if you give me a good answer i ll be more than glad to donate on your paypal buddy! just let me know!
When you say go tsx cams. Do you mean swap out the exhaust cam and keep the type s intake cam or swap out both cams? Thx again for this video. You’re the man man!
Hey man thanks for the video! Just wondering if you could do a video on nitrous set ups for the k series? From the research that i have done it seems that a direct port dry shot is best for k series. Of course you would have to have the basic bolt ons, kpro or any other ems, upgraded injectors and fuel pump. Also it seems that with the kpro you have more control of the nitrous. I have only read about nitrous set ups, but i would really appreciate your opinion considering all of your experience and knowledge! I am stuck between getting a supercharger or nitrous set up. If you could do a video on k series nitrous set ups including the pros and cons that would be great! Thanks again for the content!
i heard a ultra light fly wheel in a k20/k24 build isn't a good idea due to how fast the motor revs up and its recommended to stay above 10lbs for the fly wheel is that true? also how reliable is it to have drag cartel 2.2 cams in a 8th gen with upgraded in line TCT?
If your gonna bolt up a k24 tsx bottom end , with a k20 head & k24 tsx cam & gain 40-50 horsepower & torque & be around 240-250 hp like mentioned in the beginning . Wouldn’t that setup basically be like a regular k24a2 with bolt ons?? Would it be easier just to get a k24a2 & do bolt ons ??
Evan, do you recommend head porting on the k series? how much does porting effect reliability? Is it more beneficial on a turbo setup over a NA setup? maybe that could be your next video! lol thanks
Steven Sayalath porting is most useful on boosted motors because you have a larger volume while keeping the proper intake velocity. For n/a it’s better to polish with minimal porting
Thank you so much for sharing your experience and insight! This was amazingly informative. Any recommendation on which twin discs you've managed to find sucess with?
Excellent video u know excatly wat ur talking about! I have or experienceing half of the problems with wat u've said in my k24 dc5/rsx! What throttle body size upgrade u recomend with rbc, 5zigen exhaust catless setup? Thinking of k tuned 72, 80 or 90mm.
sounds like the 06tsx k24a is the best base to start on. already have the biggest cam of the bunch. just need VTC to 50 degrees and a RBC. where as other setup upgrades to tsx parts?
I see you mention the 06+ TSX cams... I'm about to slap together my 12.5:1 K24 with 09 TSX cams and its matching VTC gear. From what I hear, it's a 50 degree VTC cam gear and only works with the K24Z3/K24Z7 intake cam length (different offset on gear too). Anyway, any experience with that setup? I'm hoping I'll be okay.
With the k series tct problem, do you only have the problem when you put cams in what about valve and spring thanks for your help keep up the epic vids
