Bought that from Walmart 6 or so years ago with a great rubber molded handle sold under Camillus eathan becker first outfit he created all becker knives for than transition to kabar
Finally got around to watching this one. Seems like I work so much I barely have time for RU-vid any more. But I remember years ago watching your knife reviews on RU-vid. Watching this one brought back the good times. Good to see you back more, Tac!
Awesome video man there's something about seeing and old school knife review on your channel that makes the world seem like it's not so bad. Please keep going 🙏
Awww yeahhhhh. The tactical show is back in buisness! Sweet Lookin blade. My uncle actually jus picked one up and was raving about the handle shape also. Love to see the show back and rippin. Been watching you since the start of the show. I was a teenager at them time ✊
Brotha Tac is back! I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to see another review from you play boi. You know how much money you cost me with your reviews hehehe. Until the next time we meet playa.
I wanted this knife.. I was waiting till i saved up some spare cash.. Now that my boy tac showed me this knife is as bad ass as i knew it'd be im definitely getting it.. I like that you can do basic utility skills but it will excel at defense.. Keep up the great content tac.. It was great to see another knife testing vid.. As always till the next time we meet
YO TAC! The longer you have it the more you're gonna like it I run one on my gunbelt (crossdraw) underneath my pistol mags. An AWESOME EDC is the BK11 I have the san mai dealy I've been running for damn near ten years now. Awesome knives. ROCK ON BROSKI Nor Cal out.
This is one of my edc knives, was using the factory sheath but switched to a Armatus carry sheath. Much better. I always edc a fixed blade and this one fits the bill great. Perfect pig sticker
I bought micarta handles from tomar’s ka-bars. I also added red g-10 liners to make it pop. Then i removed the coating and boiled it in apple cider vinegar for 30 min. I live in the Pacific Northwest and I haven’t experienced any rust with this dark patina
@@danmano478 it turns gunmetal color after you boil the blade in it. The coating needs to be stripped. No affect on heat treat. I work at buck so i rockwelled it to check the hardness
@@demo2952 Thank you for answer, man. Do you know what treatment gives the indigo color. I saw somewhere, in comments (RU-vid or khukuri comments sites) I don’t remember. Maybe mustard? I like indigo. Gunmetal I think it’s some gray?
I got the black one and I took some sandpaper to it on the couple o the angled lines on and those lines came through nicely and gave it some cool factor . If you ever have trouble with Micarta being to slick I learned a nice fix when reading about Chris Reeves fixed blade handle scales and it said they were CNC made and then "SAND BLASTED " so I tried it with medium to small sandblasting material but to each their own. I tried it on my Condor Ripper and it is so sweet then I was nervous about it but I removed the scales on my Bark River JX5 and blasted away and it is a new knife and now fixed blades are a whole new world.
I had to add liners with my micarta scales , it feels awesome just a hair more palm feeling . I made a table top video of mine, plus I stripped her of that poop brown coating looks wicked. It's such a cool knife, the whole rig is good .
Love anything Kbar BK. Great choice for a review. Still waiting for a slow motion instructional on your knife swing and strike pattern. Also on the Schrade Priscilla also.
It's so fucking cool you're back Tac. Fuck all the scientific testing bullshit, i like it best when you're just fucking with knives and tools for real. First channel i subbed back in the day under one of my many aliases. Fuckin' AWWWWWW YEAH!
Yeah the grivory handle sucks. I like the "poopy brown" coating on that blade. I stripped my BK2 and duracoated it. The coating on the BK2 was awful. Let me know when you get a P.O. box to send ya stuff!
I've had so many knives and been through the "what steel is best " blah blah blah....I have come full circle or I'm just getting old I dunno BUT ... Kabar , Tops and Esee 1095hc is freaking awesome 👌 ....Its easy to work with and does the job holds a good edge . Just keep it simple dummy , that's what my pop used to say. It doesn't mean I don't like my Benchmade Bushcrafter, it just means I don't think it really freaking matters when SHTF .
awesome as usual Tac. I like to listen to you talk, by the way I do not know if you know but there is somewhat of a copy cat out there Joe x is his Chanel, but he is not so talkative :). By the way do you still have that rattle knife? Ive got both the bowe and the kukri, man I bitoned with them using a small slege hamer and they are still ticking. Keep it up Tac and stay well, greetings from Slovenia, by the way since you like gunes have you tried AREX ZERO 1 pistol? It might surprise you.
BK blades. The only blades I ever cut myself on just touching then on accident. To the bone. I've been eyeing that harpoon point for awhile now. I might pick it up after all. Yes replace those handles asap ppl. Until next time... I slept all day today, yesterday, etc... I must have needed the sleep or fighting off a sickness.
Sweet camp/survival blade. I still have a bk2 untouched sitting in my collection as well as the esee 5 w the 3D handles. So pretty I hate to have to mess them up. Lol
the bk series of knives are great i wish i got the bk7 or 9 instead of the sp51 ontario its too fat at the edge hard to get sharp. i rarely use it now mostly rock a hatchet but big knives are fun to use once in awhile
Camellias or what that company is that becker work with pre kabar he designed all the becker knives with first I actually bought that harpoon at Walmart all black with rubber molded handle like 6 years ago for 10 bucks still got it and is a badass knife 🔪 for 10 bucks
@@cbr600rrturbo You forgot that critical tidbit of info, Tac. Probably just a bit rusty from a lack of knife reviews. You just need to shake off the rust. Soon, I'm sure you'll be back to your old, tell-it-like- it-is, self.😄
@@cbr600rrturbo well you did what you had to, there was enough bullshit to deal with back then and unneeded bullshit right now esp when youre in NY or in my case CA. I was told that to live in the Bay Area you need to make $80k/yr to be above the poverty line, that is insane there are no young adults living in the Bay Area on their own there's just no way they could support themselves on their own 2 feet living there, ive seen for years so many that arent moving out of Cali are just moving out of the bay area
