Okay first of all all the 5 of them (3 guys 2 girls) are a close group of friends, 2 of them are getting married, and everyone is there to attend the wedding (it's a destination wedding at this big palace turned hotel)... The back story - Deepika and Ranbir were kind of a thing back in the day ( or i should say potentially a thing ) but Ranbir had bigger dreams of traveling around the world ( as you could see in his scrapbook ) so he leaves ... Leaves his friends, and Deepika behind to persue his dreams... Then after years of absolute zero contact, they meet again at this wedding, things somewhat rekindle between the two, but Ranbir is still not ready for that commitment (he has that one dream Paris trip to do - again look at the scrapbook) ... Deepika tells him to go, saying that she doesn't have the strength to fall in love with him all over again, so a 2nd time with a heavy heart (as soon as the wedding end) Ranbir is leaving everything behind --- that is why all that crying ( along with the already mellow atmosphere coz of the wedding and all ) So yeah, that's 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' which translates to something like - this youth is crazy/mad, where Ranbir is that dreamy outgoing character, while Deepika kinda prefers stability. Wow I typed a LOT !!!!!! Wonder if anyone would even read all this 😅😅

And two of the friends are in love with each other deepika and the main guy. You see the fourth friend, a man, when the bride is taking a shot before the wedding. In the pre wedding party the main guy and deepika break up so all the emotions are high. When the bride is crying it is because she is saying goodbye to her friends. Indian weddings are always sad at the end it’s tradition to be emotional at the end of a wedding.
