Kacey Musgraves' songs are relatable as hell, especially to those of us who are from small towns.

The first country singer I heard in a long time that doesn't talk about jeans, beer, their truck, or a combination of the three.

She's like a breath of fresh air. Someone has to save country music, go Kacey !

Kacey Musgraves is my favorite country artist, and this song is emblematic of why this is the case. Not only is she an immensely talented singer and song writer, but the substance of her songs is unique in modern mainstream country - a genre of music that seems to be infatuated with portraying rural life as a care free, morally unblemished utopia. She actually flips this way of thinking on its head. She is honest about the realities of country life, highlighting all the problems that exist in rural America. In her song "Merry Go Round" she plainly reveals how suffocating rural life can be to people's dreams and aspirations. Now, in this song, she is critical of the corrosive gossip and nosiness of small town life, the way she did in her other song, "Trailer Song". You have to respect Musgraves for candor. It is easy to sing songs romanticizing rural life, as most country artists do. It takes far more integrity to go against the grain and look at it honestly. We need more artists in country music that are willing to be this frank.

This woman gives me "faith" in country music. She has an incredible way of invoking classic country, while realizing that times have changed. The fact that she writes her own songs, or is at least involved in the writing, only makes it better. I can't believe there are over 1,000 thumbs down, probably from country/conservative purists who don't think people should mind their own biscuits, nor follow their arrow.

I'm rapidly becoming a big fan of this talented young lady. I like her singing and her songwriting. She isn't a "traditional" country star with her views and the causes she supports, more power to her. I remember people calling Shania Twain unconventional when she first got big too. I liked this particular video not just for its homespun common sense lyrics, but because the set brought back memories of watching Hee Haw when I was a kid. The girls on that show wore those cute little short dresses too!

Shame this got taken off the radio. I may be beating a dead horse, but mainstream country needs a real good shake up. Kacey strikes a nice balance of simple and intricate, so I think she appeals to traditionalists but also newcomers. She keeps it fresh but also keeps it authentic, not to mention she puts on a beautiful live show. I could go on and on but there's no need. She's a rare bird, this one!

I heard this song at Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana. I've never been a fan of country music but this is one of my all time favorite songs. Beautiful.

This is country. It harkens back to the genre’s origins. Not the crap masquerading as such that gets the most airplay.

It reminds us what country music used to be about: independence self reliance and not judging people. I like the self deprecating humor, instead singing how great we are, and use that to judge our neighbors, she says so beautiful we are all flawed and none isperfect

This may not be mainstream country, but she sure can sing. She is very easy on the eyes, too. This song has a great message.

I remember listening this song a couple years ago when no one really knew who she was. Now she’s won a Grammy for best Album. It’s been a long way! I’m so happy and proud of her! :)

The first pic I saw of Kacey was of her with those big sun glasses on the Merry Go Round song. They cover up her entire face. I had no idea she was this beautiful! Holy Smoke! This kind of reminds me of the HeHaw show which I liked as a kid. I love all the old plantin and growing and harvesting and biscuits and hogs and all that good old stuff that folks don't know about anymore. The farm taught people a work ethic that seldom gets tought today. Animals for instance have to be fed every single day rain or shine. And so you learn to go every day with no excuse. Picking crops taught how to get something done in a timely fasion. Farmers can watch someone do a chore a few minutes to see how its done and take over and work on it until its done and do a good job and not need retraining on it tomorrow or the next day.
