The Hawaii United Okinawa Association (HUOA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to promote, perpetuate, and preserve the Okinawan culture here in Hawaii. It is a huge part of the Hawaii Okinawan community and allows its members to learn about the culture through various educators and practitioners, a central meeting place to share experiences, and a way to connect with Okinawan government, organizations, and its people. Running an active organization and a meeting place like the Hawaii United Okinawa Center comes with a significant expense. None of it is possible without the generous donations from our members and supporters.

I forgot that my Okinawan relatives would dance like this until I caught myself doing it at work when I was celebrating my promotion and my coworkers were laughing. It is funny to see but its fun to do as well :)

I learned about this from a manga, and wow, this dance looks like the physical form of ‘happiness’

I learned about it from animal crossing, lol. Amazing that all types of media can teach you stuff you wouldn't begin to expect.

@mapache pataki I might've been a year ago but I don't remember. Are you talking about the general concept of family records, or is that a tv series or RU-vid thing or something?
