Kada Prasad | Guru Nanak Jayanti Special | कड़ा प्रसाद गुरुद्वारा वाला | Pankaj Bhadouria
Satsriakal! On this pious occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, I bring to you the recipe of Kada Prasad. Kada Prasad is the atta halwa that is served as a prasad to the ‘sangat’ in the Golden Temple, Banglasahib Gurudwara and all other gurudwaras. I have also tried to find out and then shared with you WHY Kada Prasad is distributed at the gurudwaras.
I have also shared with you the secret to the perfect grainy ‘danedaar’ texture of the Kada Prasad. This is due to the correct ratio of ingredients used to make the Kada Prasad.
Furthermore, only 4 ingredients are used to make the Kada Prasad. To garnishes, no dry fruits are ever added to it!
Did you know at the Bangla Sahib Gurudwara around 2500 kilos of Kada Prasad is made and distributed daily? I have tried to follow the same Gurudwara Kada Prasad recipe and instructions. Hope you like it. Enjoy!

Recipe :
Kada Prasad
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 40 minutes
Serves: 4-5
Ingredients:
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup ghee
4 cups hot water
Method:
Heat the ghee in a kadhai.
Add the flour and roast till the atta is golden in colour.
Add hot water and cook further till the ghee floats on top again.
Add the sugar and mix well. Cook till the ghee comes up on the surface.
Serve.

Mam everything you said about kada prashaad is absolutely correct except for water ratio. Water should be of 2.5 ratio ,that's it. Nature of atta and suji is different. Try once with 2.5 water ratio, kadha prashaad will be phenomenal

Sat sri akal ji .Happy Gurupurab ji Kindly check the history of Guru Nanak Dev ji . He was born in 1469 and the foundation stone of Harmandir Sahib ( Golden Temple ) was laid in 1588 . Guru Nanak Dev ji never visited this side . Kindly recheck your facts .
