Great video Jake! Thank you. I have some questions: what sizes this variables have? How much is it in px ? Because if you are developing looking on your designer figma template, where your designer gave you 15px paddings top-bottom and 25px right-left, how will you understand what variable to use? Where to look for this variables default numbers? And where to change that default numbers? Do I need to use custom css, or just like with global colors we have a place for it?

Fantastic video, you have a new subscriber! I've found that working in Kadence can be frustrating. The interface is clumsy and everything seems to take ages. This one overview on v3 has COMPLETELY changed my mind! They've really listened. Fantastic. I think I'll be able to build pages just as quickly as I do in Elementor with v3. You rarely hear people talking about Kadence these days, it's all Blocksy, Cwicly and Bricks etc... It really looks like Kadence is coming out swinging. I for one can't wait to get it downloaded.

Hey John! Thanks for the comment. Happy to hear you're excited as I am about the new 3.0 release :) Definitely give Kadence Blocks a try again - the built-in WordPress editor has come a very long way since it was initially released and keeps getting better with each version. I think it all depends on the people you're following or communities you're in for what tools you hear about. To put things into perspective, as of the time of this writing, the Kadence theme has over 200,000 downloads and Kadence Blocks has over 300,000. - Cwicly shows 1000+ users on their site (I've been wanting to try that out) - Blocksy theme has 100,000+ downloads (also a great theme) - Not sure on Bricks user base, but the FB group has around 9000 members So, Kadence Blocks alone has nearly triple the amount of downloads/users as all three of those combined (hard to gauge number of users vs downloads). They're growing at an extremely fast rate and the future is bright with version 3.0. It's going to be a fun year! I'd love to hear your thoughts when you do get a chance to use it!

This video is so great that I keep coming to it! I'm coming back to web design almost skipping page builder era and for that reason probably I can still spot some fresher's first look improvements. The style copying and content copying is great but it would be intuitively amazing if it simply duplicated the block with all internal styled elements. It knows the grid layout so algorithmically it should perfectly know and just duplicate block or even row right or down, depending on the grid. They need to give me a UX job! ;-)

Thanks so much for the comment! Glad you like the video :) I wouldn't be surprised if the Kadence team made even more improvements to many of these features. They've also talked about eventually having an entire global design system where you could save various "styles" globally and then instantly change the style of anything simply by choosing the style. It could completely change the look of your site with the click of a button. A lot of exciting things to look forward to!

In kadence blocks pro there is advance gallery block in that there is a feature of dynamic content, but when i tried using it with acf pro gallery field it did not work can you make a tutorial on it ?

Looks really promising! A question: Are the styles copied as a class or are all css styles copied? (which would increase the size of the css file). 22:42 And it would be great if all the same border values were combined into one, would save 3 lines.

Hello there! I am re-designing a website that is designed with the Genesis theme framework. How would you recommend migrating the pages if I want to re-design them with Kadence Blocks Pro? I am afraid I will install the Kadence theme and plugins into my WordPress account and it will mess up or overwrite the existing pages. Thank you! Also, is it 100% safe to upgrade to Pro and run Kadence plugin updates without messing up the website?

Hi Markus! No, I haven't done any speed comparison tests yet. Ben did mention that they drastically reduced the generated CSS file behind the blocks, so that will help speed things up. Also, with the new grid CSS being used with the Row Layout, the DOM size should be more optimized compared to before v3.0.

Hi Tom! I went through that step quickly. Yes, I first added a simple paragraph block just to add something in there and then pasted and that places all of the copied content in the section.

looks great, getting close to being as nice as DIVI. The only thing that annoys with using gutenburg is that you still have to preview the page to see how it really looks, which is a big advantage that the page builder still have. What you see in the editor is usually how the page will actually look.

Hey, thanks for the comment, Russ! Yeah, I agree with that. That's been a big pain point of the built-in WordPress editor, but I will say it continues to get better with each release which is nice. There are still some cases where what you see in the editor doesn't quite match up with the previewed page, but it's getting close.

Hey, thanks for the comment! That will likely happen once Kadence Blocks 3.0 is more production-ready. I'm guessing there will be a update to the Kadence theme itself that exposes the file that has all of those values in there and then you'll be able to change them globally throughout your website. But since Kadence Blocks 3.0 is currently in beta and not production-ready quite yet, you wouldn't want to expose that file in the theme yet. Hopefully that makes sense!

So when it is released does the blocks we have just automatically get all the new features like clamp or do we need to style them again in some way so they work at a 3.0 block Is the code behind the blocks automatically changed and what about padding if we have it set in px do we need to change each block to small medium large etc

Hey Scott! No, everything won't automatically switch over to use clamp (and you wouldn't want that to happen especially if you specifically have certain sizes chosen for other devices). Preexisting headings and things like that will switch over and have the "custom" option chosen with the same px, em, or rem that you had set previously so they'll work the same. If you want to switch headings over to using the new variable system with 3.0, you can. But you don't have to change anything if you don't want. It will all work the exact same as before.

I don't believe there is a feature for that right now, but I could be wrong. Perhaps that is something that could be added! They have a form for feedback and suggestions which would be a good thing to mention.

Clamp is incredible. Such a massive time saver and huge for mobile responsiveness! Kadence does have an area in the customizer where you can view/add custom CSS for your site or you can also add custom CSS at the individual block level (like a Row Layout or Section).

I would just use a simple Chrome extension for that :) I use one called Eye Dropper where you can select any color on a webpage and it will give you a Hex value.

I just install from scratch a kadence shop template and in gtmetrix I got a C with 3.0sec ... It is bad right?

A few things here - I'm not sure which hosting you're using, but the hosting will greatly affect your page speed score. Every Kadence template I've tried is very optimized and gives great speeds right out of the box (this is even before any optimizations). Also, I never recommend using GTMetrix for page speed scores as it only gives you desktop scores which don't really mean anything. You should be using the official Google PageSpeed Insights tool and focusing on getting a high score for mobile (which is harder to do, but Kadence is one of the fastest themes on the market). In general, page speed comes down to this: 1. Use fast hosting with dedicated resources 2. Use a lightweight, very customizable theme (like Kadence) 3. Not using third-party page builders and using the built-in WordPress editor (Kadence Blocks is perfect for this) 4. Use a proper caching plugin for the additional optimizations (I use FlyingPress) Hope that helps!

No, your site's SEO won't be affected. If anything, there are a few performance boosts which can only help with your site's speed. If your site passes Core Web Vitals, you will get a Google ranking boost.

I only use Kadence Blocks on my sites because it's all you need, but I know there are many others using Kadence Blocks with other Gutenberg builders such as GenerateBlocks, Spectra, etc.

Hi Jos! You have to select all the blocks you want (click on one, hold the 'Shift' key on your keyboard) and then click another block. Then, click "Copy blocks" from the vertical three-dot menu. Lastly, add a basic paragraph block wherever you want to paste them and then press Ctrl + V on Windows or Cmd + V on Mac and it'll paste all the blocks that you copied.

@@mat4042 I would highly recommend getting on Mediavine if you can! They are the best ad management company I've ever worked with. Do the ads slow down the site? That's dependent upon the ad company and how they load things. Mediavine takes performance extremely seriously, and it's much easier to pass Google's Core Web Vitals if you're using Mediavine versus other ad management companies. So, using Kadence + Mediavine is a very powerful combo. The ads all load fine and it works perfectly.
